Back in 2010 we introduced you, our beloved readers, to the Garmin Forerunner 110, a GPS fitness watch that was also easy to use. Fast foreword 3 years later and we have a number of other products in the Forerunner line. One of these is the Garmin Forerunner 410.

The Garmin Forerunner 410 is, like the Forerunner 110, a GPS watch that is specifically built for runners, but can also very much be used by swimmers and cyclists – so much so that it comes with an attachment for your bicycles handlebars. Also it comes with a number of other great features such as a heart rate monitor, and of course a clock.

One of the main things that Garmin has over its competitors is the fact that their products are easy to use. The Forerunner 410 is no exception to that rule. To change modes, you simply press on the corresponding area on the bezel. These modes include “menu”, “GPS”, “time/date”, and “training”.

The Forerunner 410 can also record details about your run. The details it can record include, but are not limited to time, pace, elevation, and as mentioned before, heart rate. This can greatly help athletes who are aiming to fine-tune their runs. This data can also wirelessly be uploaded to a computer when in range, so you can better see the details of your run and how you could improve it. This is compatible with both Mac and PC.

The heart rate monitor is not part of the watch itself, but instead is built in to the strap. This is an interesting feature and one that is different from a lot of other fitness watches on the market. This should also provide a more accurate reading of your heart rate, and should be less susceptible to faults.

The Garmin Forerunner 410 is available for purchase for around $200 and is a great purchase for the runner, cyclist, swimmer, or triathlete who is looking for a better way to monitor and manage their sessions.
