There are a number of great new notification devices coming out for your smartphone. Just a coupe days ago we had a look at the Emopulse NanoGlass, which is a set of glasses that uses fiber optics to display different colors in your peripheral vision. Well now there’s a new notifications product on the market. It’s called that Embrace+, and it’s by two developers simply known as Paul and Rudy.
The great thing about these notifications devices is that they keep you informed without you having to take your phone out of your pocket or purse. Because of this, the need for many people to constantly take out their phone to check if they have messages, emails, and so on, is gone. This is a good thing, and should allow people to focus on more important things, such as a task at hand.
The Embrace+ allows you to set different colors for different notifications. For example, you can have it display red for a text message, and yellow to indicate that your battery is low. But the options don’t stop there. The Embrace+ also includes the ability to vibrate, so you can set it to not display a color at all, but instead vibrate a certain number of times.
The Emrbace+ is made out of transparent silicon, and is entirely made in the US. Not only that, but it is also completely water-proof so you can wear it swimming or in the shower and still remain informed of your notifications. The battery in the device is supposed to last around 10 days with an average of 100 notifications per day, after which you will have to recharge it either via microUSB or by using magnetic charging. The Embrace+ is compatible with both iOS version 5 and up, or Android version 2.3 and up, and connects to you phone via Bluetooth.
The Embrace+ is a great device, and should be considered for many people, especially those that have a habit of taking their phone out every minute to check for notifications. If you want one for yourself, check out their Kickstarter, which has been hugely successful so far!
