7 Reviews for Amazfit T-Rex Pro Watch

  1. Mike Caldwell

I had a Samsung smartwatch that had a terrible gps, wouldn’t “activate” when I went to look at my watch, it would show me how many steps I had taken when I just wanted to know the time and the battery couldn’t handle a 2 hour gps session. So I started looking for a replacement.I’m pretty active guy outdoors, trail running, snowshoeing and hiking and so I wanted a fitness watch that would track all that stuff accurately (and upload to Strava).A few of my friends have Suunto or Fenix watches, but the idea of spending $700 – $1200 wasn’t very appealing.Another buddy had the Amazfit T-Rex which he recommended.I checked the functions and the reviews and it appeared this T-Rex Pro was even better. So, I ordered and received it just over a week ago and I love it.The gps and heart rate monitor seem to be way more accurate than my Samsung. And the battery lasts WAY longer. My buddy didn’t like the Zepp app, but hasn’t used it in awhile. When I showed him what it does now he was super impressed. So it sounds like Zepp has come a long way in a short time.My runs and workouts upload to Strava seamlessly.I love that the watch has an “always on” function that you can set for a certain time frame.Whenever I want to see the time, my watch shows it to me. How novel! My only “complaint” is I don’t think the sleep tracking is that great.I slept reasonably well my first night and got my readout. The next night I had a terrible sleep, yet my sleep summary reported nearly the same sleep stats. But I’m going to sleep how I’m going to sleep. There’s not much I can do about it and knowing the stats isn’t going to change anything.I assume, this watch tracks sleep as well as the rest anyway.Overall I love the watch and think it’s terrific. And the fact that it costs 25% of the competition is a big added bonus!

This watch is Fantastic Does everything and then some, The band is comfortable and It’s so easy to figure out. You’ll never regret buying it with ball the features. Came earlier and in great shape! Thanks Amazon

  3. Jeff Wiebe

Watch was everything I wanted except for the battery life. First week the battery would drop 10% a day, week about 20% and now it’s 45% with no settings changed…other than that I love it

  4. Andreas Rauscher

Great watch but the screen needs a protector to keep it from getting damaged.

  5. Ray

I order mine in grey I love the color. The bracelet is really nice and comfortable. Also I am amazed of what you can do with this watch. Do not be shy of ordering this watch you want be disappointed for sure!

I specifically ordered the T-Rex Pro b/c of the grey color scheme. The light grey strap and case, dark grey bezel and blue indices gel so well together. It is, by far, the classiest of the bunch. And that includes other variations of the T-Rex line. The watch is surprisingly light. You may guess that when you pick it up, the ‘quality’ isn’t there. This is a throwback mentality from a bygone era. The truth is that material science has advanced far beyond the buzzword materials of the jet age. You don’t need a hunk of steel on your wrist anymore. The sensors that read your biometrics don’t care. And if the watch case happens to fracture from the insane ‘mil-spec’ pressure that was put on it, guess what, it was on your wrist… and you need to be going to the emergency room. All to say, plastic, properly composed and formed, can withstand far more pressure than your bones. Be grateful that we live in this time. And enjoy the light weight that this timepiece offers. The display is easily the most important aspect of the modern watch. The Amazfit does not disappoint. The AMOLED is sharp and with deep contrast. There is zero to complain about in that department… The ambient light sensor, however, is a little slow to respond. In a dim setting, it takes a little longer than, say, an Apple Watch, to bring up the brightness level. So to the Amazfit engineers I would say, “This is a very simple comparison.”The buttons are tactile, easy-to-feel and press. The knurling is perfect. Don’t change a thing. The graphics portion of the SOC are perfectly adequate to drive the display with fluid motions and zero lag. I don’t feel that the watch is generating any heat or struggling to keep up. It’s a testament to how far microelectronics have come.Which brings us to the elephant in the room; battery life. In short, the battery life is exceptional. It lasts so long that, at some point, you feel that you need to charge it ‘just because’. The watch reminds me of cell phones from the olden days, when your Nokia 5100 would go for weeks between charges. Can we please get back to that??? Anyway, thank you Amazfit. You delivered on this in spades.I bought this watch when the T-Rex 2 and Falcon were available. The Ultra was also just announced (at the time of this writing). While I would be happy to review any of those watches, I would urge Amazfit to consider one thing; develop your software. As is stands, your software is adequate. But in order to lead in this segment, the software has to take priority above all else. Titanium bezels and more bolt faces don’t move the needle. Well-considered and well-developed software does. I hope you’re listening.

My husband really likes this watch. Well made and the battery lasts close to 2 wks before a charge. It only takes about an hr to charge to 100%.

  8. John Yeats

easy to read, easy to operate the functions. have not tried it in the shower but casual water is ok so far. (Showers killed all my previous smart watches.) Love the long life battery.

I was using a fitness tracker but have always been a fan of nice watches. This beauty combines both worlds ! It is large and attractive, and thr display has several faces to chose from, the features work great, tracks heart rate and steps on the low side but still very impressed overall.

I like this watch very much, with two major caveats. There are lots of features that I find handy. It has a fairly long battery life. The magnetic charge is very convenient, as long as you don’t bump it resulting in it disconnecting from charging the watch. I like the larger size of the watch, and the different faces I can choose from to quickly show me the things I care most about on any given day. Some of the faces I’ve used (that ALL include the time, and are all different in colors and styles) are:-Day of week/ FULL date/ battery life-Day of week/ day of month/ heart rate/ battery %/ step count-day of week/ month of year/ day of month/ battery %/ step count/ heart rate- battery %/ training load/ heart rate/ O2%/ day of week/ day of month/ local outside temperature high & low-step count/ weather/ FULL date/ bpm/ kcal/ distance/ battery life-bpm/ FULL date in a different format/ step count/ kcal/ distance/ battery %/ local outside temperature-day of week/ local outside temperature/ step count/ bpmCaveats:-You cannot use the watch while it’s charging (but that’s standard, so not a huge issue).-I wear my watch higher up on my wrist, onto my forearm. This wouldn’t be a problem, except that the inside of the watch band is textured, so it winds up digging into my skin, causing my skin to become raw after a few days. It’s about the length of time it takes to lose battery life, so I charge it overnight when it’s really low to get a break from that. There are other bands that can be purchased to replace the one it comes with. I just have yet to get one.-The app is not very intuitive, which could make a huge difference if you want to see your sleep, etc. metrics over a longer period of time. Honestly, I can’t find how to see more than the last day of activity.Overall, I really like the watch. I just wish it came with a different band and the app was more user friendly. I would probably even gift one, including an extra band in case the repient has the same issue with the standard as I do.

I am a physician that is an endurance athlete and have had a number fitness trackers before. This watch has some amazing features and would be the best buy on the market IF the heart rate was reliable and IF you could get product support. The heart rate detection is wrong more often than it is right and can err high or low by 50 beats or more and also completely cut out. I have done every single intervention on their website to remedy the issue and it still does not work. I have reached out to product support many times, done behaviour tagging etc. Not a single response. I am very disillusioned. The product for me is now useless for my purpose. Very discouraging. It has only been four months since my purchase but I think that I need to dispose of this and go a different direction. Very sad given the amazing features of the watch in general. I am hoping that this review will prompt some kind of product support or discourage people from buying this product if they are expecting product support or accurate heart rate detection.

  • // Q & A

Is there a walking calibration for the step counter?

There is walking Sport mode which give a more accurate count of your steps , stride and pace while using the watch

How many faces can be stored on the watch? (not in the app)

I think I have 12 stored on mine. There are MANY on the ZEEP app. Of course the appeal of these will be subjective but I found many that I like. You can store several on the watch and see how they suit you as you go. Pretty slick. Please excuse the dust and noise in the video. It's a workshop.

Can you put music on it?

No you can''t store music on the watch , however you can control the music playback on the phone

Does this watch support Arabic language؟

Yes the T-Rex Pro Supports Arabic

Is this compatible with the ecg function on the iphone? can the data be shared with a doctor's office?

You can give the Apple Health app permission to receive data from the Zepp App , however I believe the Apple ECG function only works with Apple Watch
