By now most of you know about Google Glass, but you probably do not know how to get your hands on it. After all the glasses aren’t exactly on sale in your corner electronics stores yet. As it turns out Google is giving them away, but only to those that it deems worthy of the new technology. On the new Google Glass website the company has been asking for applications. In order to get your hands on one the company is asking for something unusual, they want to know what you are going to be doing with them.
Sadly, the first round of explaining yourself is already over, but the company is going to be doing a second round at an as yet undisclosed date. For now there is a sign up form that will let you get notified when the next round is opened up to the general public. The program, which requires you to make the explanation on either Google Plus, or Twitter with the has tag #ifihadglass, after you sign up is called the Glass Explorer program.
If the applications follow the first round in form, and there is no reason to think that they will not, the you can enhance your chances of winning next round with as many as five photos and a short 15 seconds of video.
Of course if you don’t want to wait you can always check out the competition. After all versions are coming from both foreign and domestic sources, as well as kits for altering your smart phone. If you want the real deal then you may want to consider following +ProjectGlass on Google Plus or @ProjectGlass.
