Anyone know the max temperature rating for these? Want to put a few in my car in case car gets stolen.

Doesn’t make much sense for this application. I did this in my car and it alerted my wife in about 15 minutes that she was being followed and gave her the option to disable. Basically this would only work if the criminal was an android user. So 50/50 shot that it works. For the sake of argument let’s say it works and the perp is an android user. You wake up the next morning and realize your car is gone and is now 50 miles away. You call the police and report this to them chances are they will take the report go to the last know location and take a peak. Cars are stolen for 3 reasons. 1 to commit more crimes with, 2 for a quick joyride and 3 to scrap. Pick any of the scenarios, what did the AirTag help you accomplish???

Do the 4 air tags have to be linked with the same phone, or can you give them to four different people?

I have 4 air tags. I gave one to a friend. His AirTag is set up on his phone, not mine. And the remaining three are set up on my phone, not his. So yes, you can give them to different people. They are activated one at a time.

so when you buy this tag you have to also buy the clips you can attach it to something?

There are MANY different uses for these Air Tags. They make keychain holders, 3M Cases to stick them to things like iPads, MacBooks, Cars/Trucks (If you have company vehicles you want to track).....etc. Different clips/cases/holders for different uses. You just need to decide what, and how, you want to attach them to things you don't want to lose. Some of the things you can put them in, are waterproof. Crazy right?!

How often do the batteries need to be replaced?

I purchased a 4-pack of these in June 2021 and two of them began notifying me of a low battery in May 2022. I didn’t actually replace the batteries until last week, September 2022. I replaced all batteries at once, but they were still working well. I just didn’t want to have the batteries die when I actually lost something and then have no way to find the item.

how many can be in used on one network? I would love to have many of these, but want to make sure I can use them all at once if needed.

Apple says it’s 16 per Apple ID. If that’s not enough, you could release some to add others temporarily, or swap the Airtag to something else when needed.

Updates:1.When the dogs start howling at the coyotes at 6:30 in the morning, I play one dog’s AirTag once or twice and they all stop howling.2. We got a new black cat who is famous for hiding and not being found. I trained him to come out when I beep his AirTag. Sometimes I just use the find my app to find him rather than calling him out. Once he got out of the house at night and ran into the desert. I was able to track him by beeping his AirTag. He’s so black I would not have been able to find him without it. There are so many predators out here that it may have saved his life.3. I got an iPhone 13 ProMax. I’d hoped I could use the AirTag to find my car in a parking lot. It doesn’t really work for that. You’re better off just putting a pin in your map to help you find your car. My phone only starts sensing the tag when I’m within 15 feet or so. I usually have to be a lot closer than that for it to point towards the AirTag. So it works to find the cat in the house, but not my car. This is a great device to tell you approximately where something is, but it’s not perfect. Oddly, if it’s too dark, it will tell me it needs more light. I sure don’t understand that. Now the original review on how it saved my dog’s life…Got Air Tags for each of my dogs. Even decided to update my phone to better track them, but that’s not happening until April. We live in the wilderness. There are very few people out here and fewer iphones. When our dogs go exploring, we can’t find them via the AirTag (though one time my dog appearantly came across a hiker with an iphone as she registered as being on the trail.) However, when my husband goes biking and takes the dog, as long as they have cellphone coverage, we can see where they’re at.This morning I took Annie with me to pick up a Home Depot curbside order. Ran into Target to get some lettuce. Came out and Annie was gone. It became appearant I left the back windows open too much and she jumped out.The Air Tag had issues. It would tell me where she was, so I would drive there, but by the time I got there, she was gone. It wouldn’t refresh and look for her, so I kept missing her. Called Apple to see if they could track her, but they said they’re not meant for a moving target. I filed her as lost in the app, but once she blipped on my phone, it automatically shut off the “Notify when found” even though I hadn’t found her, she’d just been in the vicinity. So while I was frantically trying to find her, I was having to set the app to notify me when it found her. However, it let me know about where she was so I knew how to focus my search. She spent most of her day in the a wild, dry river wash where the tag wouldn’t signal because it’s below street level and there were no iphones down there. (Though when I was near her a couple times it didn’t ding. One of those times was when I ran into really busy traffic to stop cars from hitting her, so we were in cell zone and she was close to my phone.) Met some really nice people (a mall security guard and some homeless people) that spent hours helping me find her. Plus a dad and daughter on bikes that just happened to see her. Three times she and I looked at each other and she ran away from me. I’ve heard dogs go into survival mode after about a week on the road and will run from their families, but this was only a few hours. (She was feral when I got her so maybe she just reverted faster.) Finally, at sunset, I went home. Except she kept beeping off the AirTag. (She only did that once an hour during the day and now it was more frequent.) I worried she’d been hit by a car.I drove back to the mall with Harvey, her dog-BFF. For three hours she circled around me and Harvey. She was afraid of us, but she was also staying near and watching. When she went away, Harvey and I went into the van to escape the cold. Then the air tag would ding. We’d get out of the car and play “Where’s Waldo” in the dark. Eventually I’d see her just standing there watching us from the shadows. Then she’d disappear agin. Then the tag said she was back. I wondered if this would be easier with a newer iphone as mine is only a 7Plus.At 12:40 a.m., she walked towards the van. I partially opened the door and stuck my head out. “Hi, Annie.” And finally, she recognized me. After 13 hours of driving, walking, riding my bike (my husband brought me my bike,) and sitting out in the cold so she could see me, she finally recognized me. She wagged her tail, came up to me, and got in the van.The AirTag had issues, but it gave me ideas as to where she was. Without the tag, I would not have been able to find her. A few years ago our rescued ex-bait dog stayed with my parents while we were on vacation. They live a couple hours away. Shortly after we got home, the dog jumped their fence. I drove up immediately to try and find her. We looked for two weeks. She was sighted so many different places miles apart (Facebook has great dog-finding groups.) Saddly, she was hit and killed. If she’d had an AirTag, we would have known about where she was and we would have found her. I hope the AirTag works better when I get my Iphone 13 in a couple weeks. However, even not working great, it saved my dog’s life.

I have an iPhone 8 and an iPhone 13. I put one in my mom‘s luggage so I can track her when she goes overseas. I was able to see her on my iPhone 8 even when she was in Thailand and at the airport. I was worried that these tags would have a monthly fee, but there is no monthly fee. Since I have an older phone when I need to find the tag, the most I can do is make it chime, but I cannot find exactly where it is on my phone screen via find my phone (exactly where in the garage for instance). I have since put one in my purse, in my kids, backpack, and all my cars.

I recently bought the new Apple Air Tags to help me keep track of my car and scooter. I absolutely love them! They are so small, easy to attach to whatever item you want to track, and they work really well. The app is easy to use and provides an up-to-date view of where my items are located as well as a detailed list of places I’ve been with them. The battery life is also impressive, lasting for months on end without needing to be recharged. I highly recommend these tags for anyone looking for an easy and reliable way to keep track of their valuables. Highly recommended!

I have Air tags in all my valuables. Keys, wallet, bikes, sunglasses, computer bag etc etc. ….including my Bose Quiet Comfort 700 head phone case. Two weeks ago I came home early from a business trip and left them on the airplane. I did not realize it until 2 weeks later when i had another trip. I pulled up the location on my iPhone and they were about 30 miles south of me and south of my airport. I found it odd but decided not to ping them and drove down to the address. I was greeted by the resident who’s mother works at the airport cleaning the planes. I told her i was here for my headphones and she promptly went to grab me “headphones” that were Sony and not mine. I told her these were not the right headphones and pointed to my iPhone that had an arrow pointing toward the living room and noting 12 feet. She invited me in and the iPhone walked us right to the cabinet where the headphones where. I’m sure they meant to call me to let me know they found them because my business card was taped to the back of the case. Well it was ripped off so maybe they did not mean to call me let alone turn them into the airport which i’m certain is part of the process of cleaning planes. Nonetheless, this one find validated all the AirPods I’ve purchased and and affixed to key valuables.

Apple makes great products, however, it is my opinion that you are voluntarily buying into a fascist state. The Air Tags are excellent and tie into other Apple products with ease, works great, looks good and for this…you are paying too much. That said, you can trust that they will work, they are tough and will be supported by an excellent Customer Service and reputation of Apple. I am a fan and buy everything Apple….these do not disappoint.

I do like how easy these are to setup. Simply remove the plastic cover on the AirTag with your iPhone on and your phone asks if you want to connect…I previously had tile as my location beacon. I can download the app on an iPhone and Android and have the whole family able to locate lost devices. Apparently apples AirTag is unique to the user, so even if we both had iPhones we wouldn’t be able to both locate the same beacon. My tile pro is louder, but after the 2nd dying in less than 1 year for a very similar price. I decided to make the change. Plus the tile is a better design for keys, as I did not need another accessory to hold the device to be able to attach to my keys…The tile is larger than the AirTag in every dimension until I add an accessory to house the AirTag…I have had 3 tiles all last around 8-10 months before no longer working, even though they boast you can simply change the battery. But even after a battery change the tile has lost its ability to play the entire song for locating purposes plus it’s become a weaker tone.So as I say time will tell if I made the right decision to switch.

Track your precious items without having to pay a subscription ( like Tile products). Buying a 4-pack ($89) is cheaper than buying 4 ($29 x 4) individual Apple Airtags. Who doesn’t like saving money? I ordered from Amazon vs ordering directly from Apple because of Amazon’s FAST shipping.I recommend ordering cases for your air tags. I ordered these air tags to put on my keys, wallet, and backpack, and to hide one in my SUV. This is also a great way to track your vehicle without having to pay a monthly subscription. If you are on the fence about buying, this message is for you! Buy them! You won’t regret having piece of mind knowing your precious valuables are able to be found.

I was skeptical about using these as I really don’t like anything tracking me or possibly providing information about my movements. I decided to use one of these in my golf bag so I could keep an eye on the whereabouts when I travel. It is truly comforting to know that you know where your bag is at during all times. I use these in my personal safe and gun safe. It’s hidden pretty well and the device will alert you if it goes outside of its parameters you’ve set. I’ve added one to my vehicle as additional protection in the event my car is stolen.

      Simple to program and use.

After having lost my luggage on my last trip, I had no choice but to purchase these. I have to say it was a PITA to open the package, but that’s a minor issue. When trying to set these up on my phone I kept getting kicked to the Setting screen. No clue why that was. Same issue with my iPad. Finally called Apple support and they talked me thru the process. Apparently it kicks you to the setting screen so you can log in using your Apple ID, but it doesn’t give you that message anywhere. I also had to put in the passcode to my phone before it would work. After that it was simple and it shows up on Find My without a problem. I plan to put one in my purse and one in my suitcase, possibly one on my dog’s collar. Great invention!

These are very useful for keeping track of things. Really glad I bought themThere are a couple of cons with them. First, you can’t “force” an update to them. So when I first got them, the firmware was old and there were several needed patches. It took between 3-4 weeks for the update to happen. Until that time, they were not very useful. Second, the tracking can sometimes lag. My wife couldn’t find her keys, so I tried to track the AirTag. The last update was about 5 hours previous.

    15. Beetech

These seem to be indicating where the items are. One in each car and one in the travel trailer. The only thing is that they don’t update all that often. It showed one of my cars in another location for a couple of days before it finally showed it here at home. As for battery life I’ve only been using them for a month or so, so I have no idea. And is the battery replaceable?
