How do I deal with a vest that doesn't work, has a 1-yr warranty, but website does not allow any new "negative" reviews?

I see conflicting information from customers in regards to the warranty. Some say 1 yr, but on the Ororo site it says different.

This same vest has a 3 year warranty on other sites. Does this warranty apply when buying from Amazon?

al I know as it says in my invoice the tag on the zipper must be attached to get warranty

Im 6'4 180 lbs 34 inch waist and wear a large shirt what size do u recommend to wear under my coat

My husband wears XL shirt, so that's what size I bought him. Same with my son and son-in-law - bought shirt size for both and it fit!

Can you buy extra battery for it ?

how can I purchase an extra battery for this product

My vest only stays on the warmest setting like 5 min and then drops down to the mid setting. Is this normal??

This is normal. When first turning on, it’s basically a “pre-heat” setting. It’ll get the vest heated up and go to medium. If you would like to keep on high (red) the. Turn it on, then click it again. It will stay on red and now not flash. When you first turn it on and it’s flashing red, that’s the 5 minute pre heat session basically. Hope this helps

Only had this for one day, but I am wildly impressed. If things go wrong in the future I’ll update. Here are a few observations. I’m 5’9″ and 170 pounds. Kind of a slim build. I ordered the large and it fits perfect. I think if you’ve got any type of gut, or big chest you’ll want to go larger. The construction is very well done and has a nice feel. It’s lightweight and fits under my jacket without feeling bulky. Plus, it looks good. You won’t be afraid to wear this in public. The charging process was sort of confusing to me. Here’s what I discovered. The battery itself has four pinholes on it, which I later discovered are lights that indicate the charge. The instructions are typical overseas weird. When you plug it in, the charger unit itself lights red. Eventually it goes green letting you know its charged. I still had no lights on the battery and was concerned. In order for those lights to light it needs to be disconnected from the charger and SHAKEN (?!). I don’t understand, but thats when the four blue pinholes on the battery activate.Yesterday was cold, but not crazy Montana cold. But in its first day out it warmed up nicely. Units on the back and chest, and collar. I particularly like the collar to keep my neck warm.My only very minor complaint is that the insignia on the left breast lights up while in use either red, white or green. I’m sure it will lead to questions about whether I’m from the starship Enterprise. But I can live with the joking, as long as I’m warm.

I go winter camping, and walking and snowshoeing in the outdoors of northern Wisconsin several times a day, every day. I am getting older and thought a heated vest would be nice. The vest seems well made and fits well, but the main reason I bought it was to have heat in the neck area. There is some, but not enough for me. When outside, even with it fully zipped up, I can’t feel the heat on my neck. In doors I can feel some heat. The chest and back heat up, but not enough for me. To feel the heat you have to wear a very warm jacket over it and have it tight to your body. If it is cold out this is normal anyway. The only setting I would use is high as the other settings are not enough for my needs. Other reviews were much better than mine, but I gave it several real life tests and now don’t wear it because my light weight, Big Agnes Downteck vest is warmer and much lighter and so more comfortable, also much more expensive. A big plus in my opinion is the customer service. I contacted them and got a response asking some specific questions about temperature. I procrastinated, but got a follow up contact asking again and if they could be of any help. I did what they asked, told them the results and they said it seemed normal, but if I was not satisfied I could return it with free shipping. As soon as it shipped they started the refund process. Awesome. So, go ahead and see if it works for you, according to other reviews, it may well provide enough heat and there is very little risk on your part.

This could be SUCH a good product but misses a couple places. The fit is generally “relaxed” fit, which for me makes it a little big. I’m 5’6″ and 150 pounds and got the medium. It fits but it would have been better looking if they offered in a smaller size. The heating element is really excellent – exactly what I wanted. The vest is VERY light and comfortable, which I loved. It has a carrying case, which is a nice touch. There’s simply no reason that Ororo needed to make the on/off switch light up on the chest (red = high ; white = medium ; blue = low). That was the deal-breaker for me. This is the BEST heated vest I could find and it’s tech is actually GREAT! Ororo just needs to pay more attention to making this vest fit better (more fashionable and modern fit) and move the temp indicator. That way I could actually wear this out in a social setting. I want the fact that it’s a heated vest to be subtle and look as good as normal vest – not blink like a beacon to the world…

It’s really warm and heats up really quickly. The only thing is there’s a lot of room in the mid-section, but I think that’s to accommodate the battery, and in general, many vests tend to allow more room, I suppose because some people have a wider girth… The battery is good, but it causes the vest to droop a bit if it’s not zipped up; again, this is probably a universal issue with heated clothing. The USB-C port is very nice. I have other heated vests that come with those round DC plugs, and basically you can’t use anything else to charge it, whereas most people have other USB-C cables.

Bought two- one men’s and one woman’s- as gifts for my elderly parents. They absolutely love the vests, which are warm enough to be worn alone or under a coat or jacket. The battery powered heat gives them the flexibility to adjust and adapt to the temperature as needed. We live in Toronto, Canada, and experience a not just cold temperatures but dampness as well. Yet despite this kind of climate, the vests have allowed my parents to be much more active this winter season.

I did a bit of research on heated vests and was planning to get the cheaper brands on the $60 to $80 range but the reviews for those were hit and miss. I looked at eWool heated jackets but they start at $500 and are mainly for outdoor use in extreme winter conditions. My wife’s co-worker bought an Ororo heated vest and had mainly positive things to say about it so I figured I would give it a shot since I’m usually cold at work and just cold in general. I have an under-active thyroid and one of the symptoms is cold intolerance. The heating zones are just right to warm up my core and hands in the pockets and the back zone is big enough to cover most of my back. The collar heater is not as hot as the other parts but is just right given that your neck can be very sensitive. I usually have the heat on the blue setting after the 5 minute warm-up period when you first activate the heat. The battery is a bit bulky but I don’t really think about it much when I have it zipped up. The trade-off with a lighter battery would be shorter heat time but I think the roughly 8 hours is fine the way it is if I use the heat for most of a workday. I like the fact that it uses the newer USB Type-C connector to charge the battery.Since I’ve been wearing it at work, people do stare at the power button since it lights up in flashing red when it warms up and in the 3 heat settings of solid red (high heat), white (medium), and blue (low). When you wash the jacket, just follow the instructions and remove the battery and then put it in a mesh laundry bag and use a gentle/delicates wash cycle in cold water. I let mine dry over a period of 3 days in a very warm closet.Update 12-19-2019:For sizing help, I bought a medium and I’m 5’9″ and 150lbs and it fits almost perfectly. Almost a year later and I’ve been using mine a lot now that it’s fall/winter. I also use it at the rink while watching my kid skate for an hour at each practice session (twice per week) and I don’t need to wear my full winter coat. I do wear a hoodie underneath this vest but mainly to cover my arms. Otherwise, the only thing that gets cold are my toes so now I’m looking at heated shoes!

What a great heated vest! My husband is a hunting guide…is out in the weather for long hours…this is a lifesaver. I wish I’d had something like this when we were living in NY and were attending college softball games in March, April and May! This vest has heat in the neck (the other styles don’t) and zips up under the chin. The other versions of heated vests only zip to mid-chest and have heat across the chest and across the back; this vest heats the front pockets, the neck and the area across the back. My husband loves it! If you should be purchasing for the first time, do yourself a favor and purchase the second battery pack. It seems expensive to purchase them both, but there’s a slight discount if you should purchase at the same time…and you WILL want to have a second battery ready to go.Good luck…enjoy your vest…I know you will!!!NEW REVIEW!!The vest is not working! It was great in January and February, but stopped working in March. I purchased a second battery…neither batteries are heating the vest. Both have been charged fully, but we cannot get the vest to respond. My brother-in-law is having the SAME PROBLEM…and he has a back-up battery as well. These items are too expensive to stop working after 60 days!

    8. Ina Dakkak

I bought a mens vest to allow a little more hip room and so I cold wear a light jacket underneath.Works well, love the versatility of the vest versus the jack or hoodie. love that it heats at the front by the pockets to keep your hands warm. I wear it under my winter coat in case I need a little extra heat but it will be even better in the spring for walks or outings. The Battery is a bit heavy but sitting at the waist in the vest, it does not interfere with using the pockets. I would recommend this item.

    9. boss

The heating works well and is adjustable. The battery lasts maybe 2 to 3 hours and it keeps me warn in -30 temperatures. You can feel the wires running through the jacket it would be easy to snag one and damage it potentially shocking you. I get static shocks from this jacket, likely from the heating pads charging the fabric.I’m also careful with the plugin wire from the jacket to the battery. The connector pulls itself out of the battery sometimes, its likely the trouble will get slightly worse over time.Over all the jacket is worth the money. I use it as an additional layer on top of 3 other layers, the battery heat adds another layer you can toggle on and off for comfort.

    10. Canuck Craig

I am 6’4 and 300lbs, the largest size felt like a child’s coat for me. but I told my neighbor I was going to return it and he tried it on, and instantly pulled cash out and handed it to me. He absolutely moves it! My neighbor is about 6ft and 190lbs and fits just right. Keep in mind its the largest size available.

    11. Keyplayer

I originally purchased this vest in a XXL based on consumer reviews. It was too bulky so it would prob let the heat out. The return process was simple! 1st time I ever had to return anything from Amazon. A return label was provided that I just had to print out on my printer. Packed everything back into the box and dropped it off at the post office. Somehow they knew it was in transit and my return was processed before they actually physically received the return. Very impressed with that.I then ordered the XL. It said it was going to be delivered a day after I left town for work. I was a little disappointed with that. Luckily to my surprise it arrived 3 days early! Tried it on and it fits perfectly! I charged the battery fully before trying out the heat and wow does it heat up quick and it gets HOT! The heated collar is amazing! I just wish the heated pocket really heated up the whole pocket. It’s not a deal breaker or anything but would def make this vest absolutely perfect. You will have to have your hand pressed up against your body to get some heat on the palms of your hands. Overall I’m truly happy with this purchase. I will update if there are any problems going forward. If you don’t see anything know this vest is the bomb and go get yourself one! You won’t regret it!For help with sizing I’m 6’4” around 225-230lbs And I got the XL. The pic shows how it fits.

    12. Alex John

I bought a large and it fits me perfectly, nice and snug around the body and snug around the neck. I’m 6 foot and 210 lbs. Heats up to nice warm temp. The heat around the back of the neck is nice. The only thing I worry about is the zippers seem cheap, like one day they’ll break and the jacket will be garbage.Edit: With the heat pads it doesn’t breath well and I find my back is soaked in sweat after wearing it, even with the heat turned off

    13. Gaetano

Have it for about a month now and I am changing my review from 4 to 5 stars. I initially thought that the battery life was short and not as advertised, but that was on me. Turns out that the default mode is medium heat, not low as I assumed. Therefore, the 4 hr battery life on the medium setting I’ve been experiencing is accurate. Again, it’s a great product! Well worth the premium I paid versus the cheaper priced ones.

    14. Erik P

it seems like good quality. The front zipper is suspect. A better zipper would make a world of difference. The battery pack is a lipo power brick with a DC barrel jack output. Would be nicer if I could use USB-A and any power brick but alas it needs the full 7.4V of the pack. The indicator LED on the chest is very bright and doesn’t need to be. It’s a vest so it will be hidden most of the time but still, it’s a flashlight.I’ll follow up after some wear.

    15. Chris

The battery doesn’t last long at all. The zipper I cannot get it I’m undone and most the time II have to pull it on over my head.Trying to get a hold of the company to see whether they can replace the vest and hopefully the zipper and battery will be better. I bought this vest because of almost all the good reviews maybe I got a lemon.

    16. konfucius

1- It’s light! The vest itself weighs less than the battery pack.2- It’s surprisingly warm by itself.3- Easy to clean! So far I’ve had mud and coffee spilled on it and just a wet rag makes everything disappear.4- The heating elements do work well, the heat on the neck feels amazing!5- The battery is kinda big (not huge) and heavy but you get used to it quickly.6- The battery (again!) takes a long time to charge. In my case I get about 4 hours of use for about 4 hours of charge.

    17. Wild Flower

I bought this for my boyfriend because the Milwaukee vests were back ordered and it didn’t seem like they would be available anytime soon.He loves it! It works just as good, if not better then the Milwaukee and it fits him a lot better. It heats up quickly and keeps him warm while hes out sledding.

    18. Air Force One

I had to return it since the battery is not working properly. No matter how many hours I charge it, it always shows 75% with the fourth light blinking (after more than 8 hours of charging, I plugged it off and immediately charge it, it still shows being charged with fourth light blinking. I emailed found of the company and no response and had to return the product on Jan 27 2020. Not happy with customer service from Ororo since I did not receive any response after couple of emails. I must give a thumb up to Amazon’s refund though which is very fast.

    19. Winterizer

If you are living in a winter climate, this vest makes night time dog walks, shovelling and sitting in cold arenas SO much more comfortable! The warming unit in the neck/collar is KEY!! This makes a world of difference to your overall experience. You don’t realize how much you tighten your shoulders and neck to brace against the cold until they are warm!! If you have a tight neck/shoulders, make sure you get a product that has a warming unit in the collar.Three heat settings give you some versatility – the high is pretty warm – you won’t want more than that. The vest was more attractive looking than expected. You can legit wear this around and it looks like a nice vest. The cut is slim. 6ft, 175lbs, slim build male – ordered a men’s medium. FItted – especially through the hips, but this is the fit desired as the intention was to always wear it under another jacket. Would recommend going for a fitted size as you lose some of the benefit of the warmers if you are layering under the vest. But note that it is a very straight fit, so if your hips are wider, it might be tight.HIGHLY recommend this product.Only one complaint – the battery unit that goes in the hip pocket is not small. Given the size of tiny cell phone chargers out there, I was surprised that this power unit had to be this large. – eg., like a wide deck of cards. It also sits right on the curve of your body from side to front – need to wiggle it to lay flat on your front. Does add a little bulk if the next layer you put on top is fitted at all. But you get used to this and work around it – otherwise good value, nice looking and great warmth!Just to note when you are shopping – other products may appear to be significantly cheaper, but you have to buy the power pack on top of that – so you still end up paying a fair amount – just search for a good quality, all included product from the start.
