The first 2-3 months of this product were great, but I’ve had nothing but issues with it since then.I LOVED these things for the first few months. I could work and drive while pumping and it just felt like freedom! I would pump on my way to ride bikes or ski and have a full 3 hours to play! I can also pump while I work, and typing isn’t an issue and they are quiet enough that I can be on a zoom call and no one can tell. These are the good things… here are the bad.1. If you have large breasts (I’m a DD before baby) it is ridiculous that you could go out in public. I only use it in my house or in a private room at work.2. The “reusable” containers only last a month or two – this has been one of my most recent issues. I signed up for coaching and they said that most moms replace the containers every 3 or so months, but maybe that’s for women who don’t use them every time. At 50 bucks a pop, that can get expensive.3. Your sizing on your flanges has to be changed, I am told every 3 months. I sized down to a 21mm from 24, and that seemed to help a little. That was another 30 or so dollars.4. You cannot refrigerate these between pumping sessions like other pumps. Milk clogs the little rubber gasket and it won’t latch.5. You have to also replace the flex tubes often – again, more $$$.6. The biggest overall issue I have with these is that the reusable containers, while a good idea, really do not work well. My app would say I pumped a certain amount of oz, let’s say 2, and then I’d check and there was nothing – like ZERO milk. I think it’s because there was air getting into the containers. When I called, they had me change everything. I had issues for so long, I actually got a replacement pair of pumps from the company, but I think the real issue was not the pumps, but the sizing change and air getting into the containers. I bought these in April and am ordering my 3rd container today (June). They did send me a replacement container a month ago for free, because it was under warranty, but they only replace the one you bought, so because I didn’t buy the one they sent for free I have to pay for my own. Willow did give a $25 credit on their site, but you still have to pay for shipping.7. I think that the bags do work a little better. There is less opportunity for air to get in, but I really don’t like using bags and then transferring the milk into a bottle. What a waste.I want SO SO SO badly for these to work better. It’s such a great idea. I sometimes start daydreaming about ways they could engineer their reusable container with fewer parts.

Overall I’m pretty happy with the pump. It’s very convenient, especially for a working mama. I work as a dental assistant and knew that I was going to pump once returning to work but did not want to be tied down being plugged up to a wall.. I did a lot of research between different brands(especially since I’m frugal), to see which one would best suit me for work. I ended up choosing the Willow for the main reason of being able to bend down and the milk not spilling out. I needed this, because I knew I would be breaking down rooms between patients and would have to bend down to clean the equipment. It’s true, it does not leak out while you are pumping, but, no one said that it does leak out once the 25 min session is up. Once the 25min session is over the suction and grip is no longer strong and when going to bend down, it does leak. I get so caught up with work that I forget that I have them on, which is a good thing because my 25 min session goes by quick but I realize that I take them off in order for it not to leak. With a big price tag on the pumps, I figured it would come with a case to keep the pumps well protected. Be ready to purchase some type of case to keep your investment safe. I would definitely recommend this pump to anyone, especially to all the mamas in the working health business, but just reminder to take them off after the 25min session if you don’t want any spilled milk.

I have a demanding work schedule and don’t have the option of plugging in to pump. I bought the Willows because I had heard good things and figured I’d spend more money now to deal with fewer problems. I didn’t want to get a cheaper hands-free option, have a bunch of problems, and then have to buy a more expensive version so that I would end up spending more than what the Willows cost anyway. The Willows work when they work but they aren’t consistent and I don’t have time to be troubleshooting them as I pump multiple times throughout the day.-About once every other day, I put them on and one or the other gets no milk out, so I spend the 25 minutes that they run before shutting off, go take them off and there’s nothing in the bag (I do not struggle with milk production, there is milk available to drain). If you complete a session and then put them back on, you have to change the bag or it gets too full of air.-I rarely get more than 2oz out per side when I am able to get 3+ oz with my plug in Medela.If subtlety is what you’re going for, the Willows aren’t a good idea for you. You walk around with robotic Dolly Parton boobs. This also just makes them harder to carry around than I expected. And while they’re relatively quiet, other people can definitely hear them.-My app has trouble connecting to the pumps almost every time I use it, so I am not able to track how much milk it gets out of each side and I cannot control intensity, start/stop from my phone (you can do this from the pump itself).-Wasteful (and expensive) with the bags, esp as I pump multiple times per day. I tried the reusable containers and they stopped working for me after about 10 pumps (naturally this happened with the first one when I was working a 24 hour shift so I could only pump one side at a time with the working container. After the next wash, the next one stopped working.)
