Last week during Avantex, Eleksen introduced new control modules.
There are 5 ‘ready to sell’ functions like: Volume Control (for any audio device with a 3.5mm headphone socket), the Sony Ericsson Controller, the iPod Controller, the iPod+Bluetooth Controller and the new FM Radio module.
You may ask: “what’s the big deal about that?â€
To start with, this modules are good news for garment companies because the ‘only’ thing they have to integrate into future clothing is the ElekTex fabric keypad with the standardized connector to the modules. No risk in making too much or less clothing items with the ‘wrong’ function.
The added value = function of the clothing and other accessories is defined by – you, the customer. You choose a Wearable Electronic ready clothing item or bag and buy the control module you need and like. Even better, you can buy more than one module and change it depending your daily needs of different gadgets.
But the good news doesn’t stop here, you can keep your bag or jacket or suit or dress for more than one season (if your really want that) and whenever there is an upgrade of your gadget or you buy a new version, I am sure Eleksen will follow quickly by adding new versions or functions as a module.
That’s what I would call a win-win-win situation. A win for the consumer (freedom of choice), a win for the clothing industry (less risk and diversity) and I would assume a win for Eleksen’s business.
No official pricing yet but depending on the function, a module could start as low as $ 30.- not too bad for such a great and multiple usable function for our wardrobe.
