Nokia BM installed iOS app update on 05-06/08/2017 automatically. Since update, I have not been able to take my blood pressure or my heart rate. Followed instructions carefully, LED light goes on as it should but the app screen never displayes the START button. So it never starts. And never goes off even when exiting the app or even turning off my iPhone. Now the battery cover will not come off; I tried to turn the BM off by removing batteries but the cover would not come off.I had used it successfully nearly every day since it arrived on 24 June. This is my second Nokia BM. The first had to be physically attached to phone. It was used daily until it just quit. I also have a WITHINGS digital scale and still use a Nokia E73 cellphone.

The app is terrible as others have said. First it wouldn’t start up at all, and after deleting and reinstalling I was finally able to get it to open. It seemed to work ok on me although I don’t really know what my baseline is.We got it for my partner, though, since she has chronically low blood pressure and suffers from dizziness and occasional fainting. So we tried it out on her and the first reading was 149/103 with a “high blood pressure stage 2” warning. This is preposterous given her condition and the fact that she’d just been to the doctor and had normal BP. So we tried it again a minute later and it read 140/94. I just don’t find these readings believable, which means there’s no point of having this. Also, we accidentally selected the wrong user when taking the reading and there seems to be no way to edit it after the fact. All in all, a pretty poor showing for this product. I had high hopes having previously owned Withings products that worked well.

This device does not work well. It takes 5 to 10 tries before it will actually get a reading. Most times it says that the reading failed. Last week, it got a SW update, and I was thrilled, as it seemed actually to work. Now today, it got another SW update, and again…it took 10 tries for it to work. Once it works once, if you sit deadly still, it will read two more readings.I would not recommend this to anyone. I struggle to use it because I paid for it, but I detest it with a passion. Many times I cannot succeed in getting a reading at all, and if I do, it is because I am particularly patient that day. It takes 5 to 10 tries at least to get it to work.I was not diligent enough to test it while I could still return it. If I had been, I would have returned it.My recommendation: DO NOT BUY.Update: After I wrote this review, the unit stopped connecting to my Android phone. The Nokia BPM is now a $100 piece of uselessness. There is no way to use the monitor if it does not connect to the phone, as the Blood Pressure Monitor does not have a screen of its own.Buyer beware.

Very disappointed since my “new” product was an open box item. When I took a measurement, the reading was identical across systolic, diastolic and BPM for the first several attempts across an hour and a half. Then it stated failing when attempting a measurement. The batteries were all below 1.5 volts as measured on a digital volt meter indicating this must have been a very old or used unit to have that little battery life remaining. Also, the plastic bag the unit came in was opened and the box and unit seals all showed dirt under them. I reordered from my iPad company at almost the same price with free shipping and received an actual new unit that is working properly. I also didn’t have to pay the vendor a Prime Membership fee for the privilege of receiving what I paid for!

When I read other reviews I assumed the issues experienced were due to people struggling with the technology in other words to set it up properly. Both my partner and I work in IT and although it worked and gave us about two readings each, now it detects the BPM but will not take measurements for either of us, just turning off although the battery is still 100%. We have tried everything, reseting, repairing but to now avail. The product simply does not work.I have the Withings scales and they are fantastic. I love the Health App. But this is just not a product at the same standard. I am going to buy another BPM and manually input the data into the health app, so that I can use the functionality in the app to monitor my blood pressure, which from the two readings I have seems to work very well.

I’ve had withings products before this one and loved them so when I opened the box it was as easy as opening the app and connecting the bpm to my phone. The bpm came with batteries installed in a sealed box and the ends were protected with plastic. It was brand new and it would be obvious if it weren’t. It took about a minute to get it connected with the withings health mate software and then I was able to take my first BP measurement. The measurement was as accurate as another arm cuff and the device is very quiet and comfortable. I’m running Android Pie and the latest app on my phone. We tried this cuff on 5 people and got no errors on anyone. I’ve used it now daily for a few days and I have full confidence that it will continue working. If you like withings products you’ll love the bpm.

When I got cancer, I wanted every device possible to track my health daily. I had typically had high blood pressure readings at the doctors office so naturally I was curious if that was stress induced, or if I had an actual problem. This device is super accurate and works very quickly. Once setup, you create a user profile in the app (or tie to an existing one if you are already using the same product line for other things like thermometers or health scales). To take your measurement, simply hit the on button. The cuff will send a message to your phone and you select who it is for and how you want it taken (Just one measurement, average of 3, average of 5). Within seconds of completion, you’re all set! It not only gives you the number, but also whether it’s high, low, mid, or very high.My only wish is that the cuff would work without needing to use the app to really start it. Ideally, I’d love to see it take a reading, then alert you after as to the fact that a record was taken and let you assign it to a person (more like the thermometer).Seeing the trend over time is super helpful for me, and the main reason I bought it in the first place, so job well done in that arena. It’s also a pretty sleek design. I don’t mind leaving it out on the counter, since it has a pretty design, unlike other products on the market.Try it out for yourself. You won’t regret it!

You must share personal data (name, height, weight, etc) AND all BP readings with the ‘free’ app. You cannot opt out nor get a reading without ‘sharing’ this data. If you choose to use more features on Withing health app, be aware that ALL data will be shared/sold to other companies.
