I have had this GPS watch for just under a year now. I am a marathon runner and spend a lot of time traveling so I thought a GPS watch would be nice to have when I am running in unfamiliar places. I have found it to be a good companion to my running; simple to use and easy to upload the stats. I was looking for an affordable and not to complex a watch; one that could handle being in rain storm and one that the buttons couldn’t accidentally be pushed. It is a little big on my small wrist but it works. I have been happy with this watch until recently. On May 10, 2015, I ran the Delaware Marathon. At 5 hours and 15 minutes, within sight of the finish line, the watch died. The MAIN reason I bought this watch, was because the manufacturer stated an 8 to 10 hour battery life on GPS. I have run 22 marathons – all in the 5 hour to 5:30 range – so I needed something that would last. This weekend, I ran the Vancouver USA marathon: this time, I left the watch in the charger until I left the hotel room to go to the start, and I did not activate the GPS until just before the gun. This time, just past mile 24, just shy of 5 hours, the watch died. I am SO disappointed; and beginning my search for something different.UPDATED: July 6, 2015 I am impressed that Tom Tom is monitoring these reviews and responded so quickly. Within a few days, I was in touch with Tom Tom who send me a fed ex label to return the watch and today I received a new one in the mail. I did not expect to get a new one! I also received a new charger. I have just gotten it all set up and look forward to having it again for my runs. My next marathon is a few months away and I will be putting the battery life to the test then.

I’ve had this watch for about four months. The watch itself is okay, the features are very limited. The only thing I’ve been able to use it for is to track my runs and treadmill workouts. Even so, I’m not sure it’s very accurate. The treadmill feature, despite me recalibrating it several times, and using the exact same treadmill at my gym, is off by up to 3/10 of a mile every time I use it. Syncing with my phone has been good and I haven’t had any issues with that. TomTom MySports Connect is another issue. Doesn’t work at all, and I need to use the program to fully utilize all the features. I can’t find ANY support on their website whatsoever, other than a message that there is a known problem with the program. What happens is when I plug my watch into the dock, their servers don’t recognize or can’t find my information. One of the solutions provided on their blog is to keep unplugging and replugging it in. I’ve tried it several times and have cleaned the contacts. I’ve tried restarting my computer. Nothing works. It’s totally useless, and I think TomTom has lost me as a customer as a result.

I was looking for a watch that was great at finding and keeping a GPS signal and this fit the bill! Not only does this watch find a GPS signal in only a few seconds, it stays connected throughout my run. This was the only feature I really cared about and this watch does it well.In regards to the other features, this watch isn’t the best. It only shows three factors on the face at a time (pace, distance, time, ect.) and can’t show both the distance and the pace as I’d hoped. In addition, it is very easy to go from “paused” to “stop,” as they are the same button. I have accidentally stopped a run early and had to start recording over. Another issue has to do with the sync to the app. This can take a long time and, there are occasional glitches. After having recorded a month of runs, the system deleted all of them and made me grateful that I also keep a paper log.Overall, I’m very happy with this watch, as I bought it solely for its GPS capabilities. It needs improvement in other areas, but if you want a watch that will track your runs well, this is an option that is cheap but provides quality as well.

LOVE this watch. No fuss and not complicated. Shows my pace in large font and my distance and elapsed time in smaller; I know you can change the display. but this is perfect for me so I haven’t. I give it four stars because I have waited over five minutes on my busy downtown block to get a satellite signal (trees?) and it never syncs up to the right pace on a treadmill despite treadmill mode (however, you can calibrate it afterward so no big deal), but otherwise no problems not even on trails and remote areas. Contrary to other reviews the watch has never popped out of the band on me and has always stayed in perfectly despite a lot of sweat or rain. A no frills but still highly efficient running watch for anyone on a budget or just looking for something simple.

I really excited to use this watch as I am training for my first half marathon. I really dont like running the same route and this watch would allow me to just run with out always having to plan it out. I tried to download the app on my computer like directed but it didnt work. Everything i read from other people online was that the app didnt work well with Windows 7. Customer support told me to use a different computer and insisted that i have a firewal blocking the app. I believe they have an issue with their software working with windows 7 and are probably too lazy to fix it. I my sons computer to finally get my watch synced to the app. I thought it was weird that my watched said it was fully charged in like 2 minutes. I decided to leave it charging over night. The next morning my watch died in 30 mins. I was wasnt using the sensors or using the running feature. No matter how long i charged it, it kept dying within minutes. Customer service gave me a discount code and told me to buy a new watch directly from them. However, they sell their watches at a higher price than amazon. Im very disappointed with their product. You pay for what you get i guess. Im returning the product and ill just get a higher quality product from garmin or something. Id try tomtom again but since this seems to be an old and common issue i probably wont.

Brilliant watch so far. I’ve used it for several races and local runs. It was easy to set up, syncs with Strava via Bluetooth on my mobile. It paired easily. Syncs also via the PC software – the TomTom App is really good too with lots of good stats and info incl pace, times, splits, steps and maps of what you’ve done. One small problem I had was that initially when I opened it up, the language was set in Slovak, so took a while to decipher wihich part of menu changes language. That was done and now it’s all spot on. If there is one slight criticism, it’s the battery life. Needs charging like a mobile frequently so it doesn’t die on you mid run, so make sure it’s fully charged pre-run/workout. It’s a very simple, straight-forward display and does just what I want which is to time my races, upload to Strava. Has heart rate monitor built in too. I use the av pace as my in-race guide and the display is clear with a backlight if you need it. It charges easy via the usb charger which connects to PC/Laptop. Excellent value overall and performance so far very good. I didn’t want to pay a lot for something which had loads of jazzy features I wouldn’t use so this is perfect for now.

Simple GPS watch that do the job. The watch is just for running but if you sync to strava you can just edit the activity to ride and done. Only can pair HR monitor.

Not being the greatest runner in the world, I find it hard to work out what my pace should be when doing the local Parkrun. When I beat my personal best mainly because someone was right behind me for the last k what I realised what I wanted was something that could give me the illusion of an opponent to chase me, or to chase. There are so many of these sorts of watch but in the end I went with this one because of its “race” option, where you can put in a time and distance to achieve and it constantly tells you how far ahead or behind you are. It’s very good and enabled me to record my best ever times by having this “ghost” chase me all the way.The only snag is that the instructions imply that the watch will stop itself at the end of the distance – and it doesn’t. In fact I have now done three races with it and I have yet to stop the watch properly (the trick seems to be to click left and hold). I’d experiment more – but every time you turn it into race mode it a saves the “race” and you cannot seem delete it. I am sure I will get it right next time, but for ease of use it really has to drop a star.Beyond that… its pretty good TBH. The GPS is great and records pretty much every step of the way is great detail. I would maybe if it could perhaps be used as a general step counter as well, but it does not claim to do that.Overall a really good buy – just maybe needs better instructions for a total beginner.

So, it charges straight up nice and easily with the plug charger or you can USB it straight into your PC, either way though it’s a relatively quick charge and effective. It shows all the information you need such as speed, pace, time, calories and anything else (relevant) you might be wanting to help with your running. You can also race yourself on previous routes using your old times that are saved onto the device to try and beat your times if you’d like to. In addition you can synchronise your watch to get long term information on your running, PBs for distances and how you compare to similar age and gender groups. Comfortable strap and battery will last for any distance I’ve tested upto a marathon. Would recommend!
