Tile is a great product. Tracked down my “lost” wallet, forgetting that I put it in the car’s cup holder storage. Highly recommended!
Who me? –
I purchased two Tiles for my wife and I keys with nothing less than stellar results, this wallet tile is disappointing. I did this setup everything seemed to be fine, after a week I decided to try it out. I couldn’t hear from the next room my first thought was the battery must be dead, I picked up my wallet and I can just barely hear the musical tune. I wrote an email to technical support, the short version that’s as loud as it gets. Hopefully, in the future Tile will improvement.

This device barely does what it promises. Even if I leave my wallet at home and go out, I don’t get any notification that I left my wallet behind. It’s supposed to notify you if it goes out of range, but it doesn’t. So far it only notified me once during the first week of owning it – and at that time my wallet was right next to me.I’m a Bluetooth LE engineer myself and understand how this tech works. I don’t get how they can make it so useless. At least offer an SDK or protocol docs so we can code our own app!Totally not recommended for anything except as a wireless ringer.

They put a freaking button dead center in the tile. A button with a hair trigger. That makes your phone ring every time it’s pressed. Or senses a moth farting on the opposite side of the planet.IN A DEVICE DESIGNED TO BE PUT WHERE YOU’LL BE SITTING ON IT.Now some people might find having their phone ring, even on silent mode, every damn time they sit down, to be a good thing.Perhaps they have buttock leprosy and can no longer tell when they’re sitting. For them, this is probably an excellent design.For everyone else, that freaking button will be the bane of your life if you put the tracker designed for wallets in a wallet, then carry your wallet where people carry wallets.

Purchased for husband who always loses/misplaces his wallet. Nice, sleek design. Fit nicely into wallet. Tile worked when we tested it. However a few days later when he actually misplaced his wallet, tile didn’t work! Luckily we found the wallet, but tile won’t connect to phone. It doesn’t work!

I lose my wallet too many times. Don’t make the same mistake as me, be proactive and get this before you lose it forever. Works by Bluetooth but if your Phone cannot detect where your wallet is, then other users who also have tile will be searching for your tile and specific to help you find it.

UPDATE – Customer service was really bad. In the end I never even received the replacement they said they’ll send and given how difficult it was to get a hold of them I just gave up on this. Now to the original review…I made a mistake of buying several tiles at the same time and then realizing how unreliable they were. And that’s kind of a deal breaker when it comes to a device whose whole purpose would be to help you in a desperate situation. Here are some details:1. This particular tile (Slim) died within 6 months of use. One day I needed to find my wallet and opened the app and it said the tile has not been seen since last week. Now of course I knew I had my wallet (containing the tile) in my hands just that morning. So I figured the tile was dead. Fortunately I managed to eventually find my wallet and with that the not working tile. But that was no thanks to the tile.2. Good luck contacting support. There’s no place in the app, no email address, the website says there’s an online chat but I couldn’t find it. There is an SMS-based support. I contacted them within their business hours and got a message saying the support is currently unavailable. Now ultimately many hours later someone texted me and took care of my problem by sending a replacement (yet to arrive). But it showed me how unorganized and underdeveloped their support system really was.3. Perhaps my biggest beef with the product is how unreliable it is even when it isn’t completely broken. I have a Pixel 2 XL. I use my phone with many Bluetooth devices and have never had any connection problems. However somehow that stops with tile. As I said I have several of them (different models) and while the app does detect when they’re nearby it’s not able to connect to them. So if I really have to find my tile, I have to first restart my phone and then after a while the app would manage to connect to the tile. Really annoying. Especially when you’re running late and want to quickly locate your keys or wallet before you run out of the door. You just can’t do that. A lot of times I manage to find whatever it is I’m looking for before the app can find it for me.

I have been a long time, steadfast Tile user, even having fun did the kickstarter campaign years and years ago. I have recently added the tile slim since both my husband as we both have small, skinny wallets. BothTtiles never work, especially when we need them to. I purchased mine last November as a Black Friday deal, expecting the same results as my tile original. For some reason the Tile slim does not work nearly as well as the original tiles or my tile mate. I can literally have my phone right next to the tile slim, and say that I can’t find it. Having inconsistent results since November, I chalked it up to my individual Tile slim as a lemon. A couple weeks ago, I bought another tile slim from my husband regardless of my less than stellar results. This morning was the last straw. The Tile wasn’t even in My husband’s wallet (his fault for taking it out, yes), and it was sitting on the table out in the OPEN. And it still wouldn’t register or ring!! Two separate Tiles purchased almost 10 months apart? That’s just a bad product at that point. I’m returning my set that I Purchased on prime day. What’s more, even the new Tile mates don’t work as well as the original. I’m going to tear apart my original Tile, replaced the battery, and rig it all back together.
