Now that I’ve got everything g set up, I really enjoy it and my 5 year old loves it. However I have a noticed a few things that made setbup more complicated then it needed to be.CONS1. I bought a speed talk sim and inserted it into the watch. After doing this, I had a really hard to pairing the watch because the qr code and the pairing code could not be found. After a full 2 days of research nd talking g to customer service apparently speedtalk DOES NOT COVER ALASKA. With no coverage, the watch can’t be paired.2. Next step i tried is buying a atnt prepaid sim card. Same problem, can’t pair and a prepaid isn’t compatible with the watch.3. I bit the bullet and got a full sim card with full supports and 4g. This works but has to be activated by putting it into a cell phone first. When the proper sim was inserted, set up was easy The qr code and pairing code show up.. At this point the atnt associate took over setting up the watch. This works. I was very happy.4. On the tightest setting. The watch is still loose on my daughter’s wrist. It works but not snuggly.5. One of the reason i picked this zone is because I could set up a safe zone. My daughter plays outside independently alot. I wanted notifications if she wandered beyond 3 houses on either side of us. This was tricky to set up because the smallest get fencing spans the whole neighborhood. I got it to work by cornering the garner of the zone to our cul-de-sac. It meets our needs.6. The location is about 100ft off. PROS1. My daughter loves that she can call her dad and I easily. She let’s me know when she’s in the backyard and wants to be let in.2. On day one she played in the sprinklers and dug in the mud. The watch remained unscathed.3. I can share her location with my husband.Overall, we love it but set up was a bit of a headache.

We did a ton of research before buying this watch for our almost-9-year-old son and, for the most part, are happy with it. It has some excellent features and met the most important criteria we had (it has to work internationally since we travel fairly often).I want to give more stars but the cons I’ve listed below are fairly major IMO and the company needs to improve these issues – especially since this watch is more expensive than most! Ultimately, we’re happy we went with this one over the other options out there for kids but since we made our decision partly based on the reviews, I wanted to provide our take here for anyone else considering the Adventurer:Pros:- the GPS locator works internationally as long as you have a data plan for travel. Before buying this, I contacted tech support for some other watch brands and was told by all of them that their GPS feature does not work outside of the US. If you don’t travel overseas then this obviously won’t matter but having peace of mind knowing where our son is in a foreign country was paramount for us.- We were able to add the watch and its phone number directly to our Verizon plan instead of having a stand-alone plan- We can set multiple safe zones so my son could leave his friend’s house in the neighborhood to head to the pool and we’ll get the alert that he’s farther away- You can block any incoming calls/text messages from numbers that aren’t programmed into the watch- Our son gets excited over the reward system – he loves to feed the dog now in the morning and get a star for it!- You can set “school” hours and turn individual features on/off. We kept his texting live but blocked phone calls. We tested it by calling him during these hours on a school holiday and sure enough, couldn’t get through.- We love the activity tracker/step counter. He’s so proud of himself when he’s hit his daily goal- This watch is durable and sturdy – easily stands up to a young boy who bangs himself around without a care in the world for what kind of damage he can inflict- the SOS calls emergency numbers that have been programmed into the watch, not 911 unless you’ve added that. To activate the SOS, you just have to swipe up on the first screen so it’s easy to access. (This could also be a con since it’s a tempting feature for kids to play with!)Cons:- The charger that comes with the watch broke the first night we got it. One of the charging prongs got stuck in when we went to charge for the first time so now you have to flick it out with a fingernail each time and then fiddle with it to make sure the watch is actually charging. More than once we’ve come down in the morning to find it didn’t actually charge and the watch died overnight. We’ve just ordered the charging stand so hopefully, this will be solved but I’ll edit my review when I know more- The battery life isn’t great. At full power, we get about 1.5 days before I get the alert that it’s down to 15% power. And this is with the locator updates set to 15 minutes – more on that next…- The locator update timing options aren’t great. We have it set to 15 minutes because anything less than that drains the battery faster. The problem with this comes when my son leaves the safe zones, sometimes it’s quite awhile before I get the alert. If he were to ever be kidnapped or get hurt outside the zone, 15 minutes makes a huge difference! Yes, I can locate him myself anytime I want/need through the app but it’s not like I’m routinely thinking I have to search for himOverall – I don’t think there’s a single watch out on the market yet that does a stellar job. They’re either missing one or two great features or they’re insanely expensive for what you get. Hopefully, the stand that we’ve ordered fixes our charging issues and if it does, then that will go a long way in making us happier with this watch. Our son loves it and it does have a lot of great features!

Does not work with bell or telus in Canada- false advertising. Trying other providers now. Please update your website * updated to add * was able to hook up to kood and works amazing.

I live in Canada, this watch is incredibly difficult to use. We have been trying to figure out a solution for over a month, and now the return window is closed. So I now have a useless watch, that cost me nearly 300 dollars. I did the research, and have been screwed by both misleading marketing and amazon – which should not be selling an item in Canada, that cannot work in Canada. SO angry.

My son has been using this watch since July 2022. I, being a tech geek, couldn’t be happier with this watch for what it offers my son and us in terms of his safety at school (or anywhere) and in terms of being able to stay in touch by text or voice at any given time. The watch offers geofencing (setting a safety perimeter) and alerts when my son exits the perimeter that we set around his school.A couple of improvements that could be made for this watch: (1) charging cable attaches loosely to back of the watch and the slightest movement can disrupt connection; (2) make weather location info customizable. This is so far one of the functions that is inaccurate and there is no way in the watch or in the app to adjust it, (3) would be excellent if the requirement for monthly subscription is waived. In Canada, it works with Shaw Mobile. I am paying CAD 5/month for a SIM card with unlimited voice and texting. Keep in mind though that this watch requires a monthly subscription (CAD 5.49/month) as well to enable voice/calling/texting functions.Between an apple watch with call and GPS capability vs this one, this one is definitely way more cost-effective in the intermediate term.

This is the most frustrating thing I’ve purchased in a long time. Based on other reviews in Canada I purchased this along with a $10 a month data plan from Fido. The calling and texting features will not work with data only and require a full cell phone plan (at minimum $40 a month per child and entirely not worth it for the limited capabilities of these devices). The data also gets eaten up super fast by the gps feature and you cannot connect to wifi at all, leaving these devices useless. I’m sending it back and I recommend looking elsewhere.

So here’s the deal, this had all the safety features I wanted for my kids first phone watches. I really wanted to love them, and I did for a time.We ordered one watch from Amazon for my daughter. Waited a few months and loved it. Then we ordered another one directly from the company and that’s when everything went downhill. The watch we ordered for my son was worn only a handful of times before it broke. They company’s customer service was very nice and offered for us to send it back and they’d give us a new one if it wasn’t a warranty violation. They claimed it was, and that my son had banged it up and had water damage. I fought them and they sent me a new one. That new one broke the second time my son wore it. He wasn’t being crazy or doing anything nuts with it. These watches are just not made to withstand kids. My daughters broke shortly after that. So 6 months in and we’re out the 400$ for the two watches plus the extra money we spent on the stand chargers and extra screen protectors (we ordered to have on hand if the ones they came with broke). The app works as described, even if the GPS isn’t as accurate as I’d like. There are some app glitches, but they’re not so bad so this review isn’t about those issues.Honestly, I’m extremely disappointed in the quality of this item for the cost. There are lots of other smart watches out there that offer similar services. We’re currently using another one that’s 1/3 the cost of these watches and my kids (and I) are actually happier with them. Don’t walk, run from this product.

Of course my daughter loved this. However, the battery life, and a few other missing options made this a return for us.1) You cannot mute notifications. I would’ve liked for $250 Watch to be able to function on silent without having to turn off the messaging capabilities altogether l.2) the charger sucks gonads. It has to be connected EXACTLY right or you’re not getting a charge. And you have to charge EVERY SINGLE DAY. The battery is terrible. We decide on an Apple SE watch that had more functionality and was the same price. Had to return.

I purchased this watch for my 9 year old daughter at Christmas and at first everything was great. I purchased a SIM card through Virgin mobile and my daughter loved being able to text or call us, her grandparents, and aunt and uncles. She would send them photos and emojis and stay in touch. I really can’t complain about how the watch functioned, HOWEVER it ONLY lasted 3 months. The watch is advertised as water resistant, which means it should withstand NORMAL day-to-day use from a child. My daughter is extremely responsible and NEVER wore it in the shower, bath, or when swimming, however a small amount of water must have entered the back of the watch (on the wrist) into the SIM card compartment (probably just from washing her hands) and very slightly corroded the SIM card reader. Everything on the watch still works but it DOES NOT recognize that there is a SIM card installed. It says “NO SIM”. I didn’t know what was wrong, so I contacted tech support, sent photos and explained that it no longer reads the SIM card. They said that with the photo I sent they can tell that it is due to water damage and therefore there is NOTHING they will do (ie, send a replacement or refund). This is a very expensive watch and I am absolutely devastated that it only lasted 3 months. DO NOT BUY. Spend the extra $130 and get an Apple Watch. I CANNOT believe that they didn’t protect the SIM card compartment from water and I consider it to be FALSE ADVERTISING that they claim it is water resistant. Anyone who has every worn a watch knows that water and moisture gets stuck under the wrist band from time to time just for normal use.
