I have been using Hyperice’s products since 2014. Ice pack, massage gun, Venom, you name it I have had them all. And all their products have one thing identical – build quality is not their strong suit, but for this Hyperice X I don’t really care as long as it works.I mean one would not appreciate how good this product is if you don’t compare. I have used a similar product from another competitive brand side by side, and here are the PROS & CONS:PROS -1. It is light. Not normal knee brace light but you can walk around as long as the straps are secured. I will bring it when I travel internationally since it also does not take up too much space.2. The rubberized material between the heating/cooling modules and your skin acts as a cushion so it does not feel too bad when you want to press (strap) it hard.3. The device can be used while it is being charged. That is very beneficial because I mostly used it while I am sitting at my desk or laying down on bed. I think the battery dies after 2-3 contrast cycles (most energy assumption) but for me it is enough.4. The fit is good. The heating/cooling modules are close to the knee cap, which is the most effective area.5. The fan is kind of quiet during the cooling cycle, and it turns off during a heating cycle. It sounds normal but the other product I tested the fan is always on no matter what cycle it is. The exhausts also do not blow at your shin and tight (yes the other product does). They blow sideway so it would not annoyed you.6. App is simply and clear. I love the built-in programs.CONS-1. The price is kind of steep even with discounts (I paid $385 after tax in Dec. 2022). I would hesitate if it was not covered by my HSA. I wanted to give it a try first. It does not meet all my expectations, but undoubtedly it is the best you can get on the market right now. If you have chronic pain in your knees then it could be more valuable for you.2. I wish it was an USB-C. I understand it comes with a 9V charger but if it was compatible with USB-C then I could have just brought one charger for most of my other devices.3. I kind of see it as an improvement rather than a con. I don’t mind having a bigger battery pack since it is not too heavy and there is still space available. In conclusion, it is the best/budget-friendly/user-friendly/hassle-friendly contrast therapy device out there as of Dec. 2022. I can see a better version coming out in a year or two, but if I had extra cash now I would get another one.

This is undoubtedly a magnicent product. Had a redo knee replacement and had issues with getting full mobility either way almost a year now. I have used this gadget barely 5 days and my range has vastly improved and pain improved a lot. I use 3 times daily. Best part is that I don’t have to stop anything I’m doing. I can move around with it. I get enough power to complete the 3 treatments and even extend the cycle a bit longer. I can use it plugged it.The only negative so far is that it has been stopping midway through a routine. I may have a defective device. I get a message from the app that device is disconnected. I thought it was supposed to work with or without the app. Why does it stop and shows “disconnected”?

Within one use I could see the swelling going down on my knee…worked better than what the hospital sent home for after surgery.

I’ve been using it for about two weeks now daily and can say I do overall like the convenience of the device, the comfort while wearing it, and the aesthetic design.I would say outside of that it is extremely over priced (and I do mean extremely – you can look through Amazon and find multiple similar cordless knee wraps for a fraction of the price with 5+ star reviews) and the overall effectiveness seems limited. It can get very hot, but the heating elements are located on the side of the knee away from where the fans cool so the same spots will never receive direct contrast, and additionally the fans only get so cold – in no way do they come even close to replicating an ice pack ( my handheld IR temp gun clocked it at about 44 degree). The contrast between the hot and cold is nice but it is in NO WAY as effective or resembling a classic ice/heat wrap therapy.Additionally, the battery life is poor, definitely not anywhere near 1.5hrs as stated. I can get a 24 minute contrast therapy routine done on each knee in a row and then it fails consistently around six minutes into the third routine before saying it’s battery is critically low and you need to charge it. This is obviously fine if you use it once or twice a day and remember to plug it in but still mine doesn’t work while plugged in so the actual utility of this device is fairly limited.Considering the price, I wouldn’t get it again nor would I recommend it. If it was half the price (I paid $399) it would be a different story but you can get several (5-6) different cooling and heating cordless wraps and regular ice wraps from other brands for that price and have far more utility then this device. This thing does look and feel cool and aesthetically pleasing but unless you have a good bit of disposable income and don’t really want to maximize the efficacy of your knees recovery, I would look elsewhere or wait for it to discount.

The option to Not use the app is nice. You’ll need to install the app first and update the software running the device. It gets very cold and very hot. The one thing is that the app has its shortest time as 5 minutes for contrast. I wanted to have 3 minutes. Just need to start and stop to switch. The adjustment straps are annoying. They include minimizers and extenders and those do work great. I like to use the device all over my leg, not just the knees. These are minor issues. Would order a second one if I get more serious. Very happy with it. Treat for the body.

This is a great product, the cold setting lasts longer than an ice pack because the ice pack eventually melts. The warm setting is soothing and the brace itself is sturdy, elastic so you can wear it while walking for example. The fact that you can alternate between the two is truly excellent. The battery life is enough for just one or two applications, so it will need to be recharged frequently. The app has bugs, for example if you start off on 20 minutes, go off to a game and come back, it might say you are on minute 12 of 15. (It forgets the total time in increments of 5). This in no way makes it unusable, just annoying sometimes.I think it’s worth the price.
