I own a Fenix 5x, I actually like the instinct better. The screen has more contrast, its lighter and indestructible and has many of the features of the 5x. Only negative cant add any Garmin connect apps. Highly recommend this watch at over 1/2 less price wise.

The Garmin Instinct has a great balance of outdoor, activity tracking features. I also enjoy that it is light that I do not notice I am wearing it.

I got this because I moved to a place where I can hike so having the ability to show where I’m at or if I find something cool I can mark it. You are limited on face style but this isn’t really the watch for that. It’s for getting what you want done and still be able to track heart rate and everything like that. It’s also tough and can stand up to working Manila labor.

Love this watch for training and riding motorcycles off road! Works fantastic running indoor and out door many different work out programs!

The factory config of the watch face info was just what I needed. Factory support has been great answering my setup questions. I use the GPS for location, time and distance for my activity and the HR monitor is always there. Probably my 6th Garmin product.

Quick responses are for Android not iOS compatible but I like the accuracy of my running workouts with this watch than any other watch I’ve had before. If you are contemplating this watch and are a runner… stop looking and just purchase this one! You won’t regret it.

It’s good. It’s the same size as a GShock so if you aren’t looking for something giant with a color map (or really any map as I don’t count the breadcrumb feature as a map) then this watch is nice. I’d wait to catch a sale though as it’s not worth the list price advertised on Amazon most of the time. The price seems to fluctuate pretty often so it shouldn’t be hard finding a good price.

Great watch, not a huge fan of heavy metal watches but this watch is so light, doesn’t even feel like you have it on half the day, very comfortable. The features are plenty everything works smoothly. Paired with the connect app gives you all the info you will need. The fitness activities are great way to push yourself and track what you have accomplished. Can’t wait for warmer weather to break in this watch. Battery life is also pretty amazing I’m a week and a half in on a 20 min charge and it still has 3/5 bars of battery. Would buy another if they come out with a newer model down the line!

I had initially purchased the regular Instinct from a local store due to the sale, then a few weeks later decided to browse Amazon. That’s when I discovered amazon also had the watches on sale, but with more variety. This is where I ended up getting the Tactical version. So they’re both the same watch for the most part, but the Tac version does have a few more details that are military oriented. For example: it’s used MGRS instead of longitude/latitude. Also has an extra face the regular version doesn’t; which includes Zulu or UTC time. Other features are having pre programmed Tac/jump master & wayfinder/pathfinder training modes. Furthermore, the night vision mode is neat (basically very low ambient lighting) and stealth mode is supposed to cut off the watches signature. If you don’t know what any of that is, then I wouldn’t recommend spending the extra $$ for this version. Because the Instinct watch seems to me an overall nice watch anyway. As for the instinct, as a watch itself: I like it. I like that it keeps track of my HR,Stress,Calories,Footsteps etc…. the Garmin app isn’t bad. This watch isn’t a Fitbit, but seems to have quite a few features the Fitbit does. Biggest difference on the Garmin app vs Fitbit is that you can’t log your food, so you’ll need to download a separate 3rd party app if you want to count calories. As for ease of use: it took me a little playing around with to figure out how to use / customize the workouts / training sessions. But once I figured that out, it’s quite nice. I’m able to set custom workouts with custom readings (basically decide if I want it to record my HR, calories, or GPS locations etc…) As for battery, it lasts about a week and half to two weeks (Non GPS trail tracking mode, but tracking daily workouts). But I like to recharge mine frequently because I never know when I’m gonna take off and use the GPS tracking mode which drains the battery a bit faster. The booklets that come with the watch only explain how to “get started”. (Basically turn the thing on haha). The thickness of the booklets is because it has several different languages… that’s all…..So overall, I would recommend the instinct watch (having had it only for a short time ((few weeks)). It’s difficult to tell how well this will hold up for years and years to come. Only time will tell on that one.Oh & the watch is made in Thaiwan.

I love this watch. TBH, I bought it because of the colorway. No, I’m not jumping out of airplanes or helicopters as I’m no longer in the military, but the amount of other features is nice. The expandability to use other Garmin products to connect with the watch that you can monitor is a great benefit. It tracks health stats quite well, from stress level to HR, you steps and how much strenuous activity you’ve completed throughout the day. I monitor my heart rate frequently and have compared while in the Dr’s office, where it’s been accurate. The band is very comfortable and flexible, a lot of notches to select from, no matter what size wrist.I train in the watch daily, i wear it on the range, running in the rain. Phenomenal watch you have.

This watch is bad***! I love it! Very durable and thats coming from a guy who has broken 1000s of dollars of government issued watches of all kinds. I don’t go anywhere without this beast. On sea, air or land.

I have worn garmin products before and loved them. I got this for Christmas wore it for 2 wks, without any issues. Then i took it off to charge and i kept having discomfort on my wrist under the heartrate monitor area… it burned my wrist. I returned the watch and within 3 wks my wrist healed. I believe that something malfunctioned with this particular watch.

I have had the watch for only two days now, but it has worked great so far. The menu is easy to get used to and the battery is still fully charged. One of the biggest issues with smart watches anymore is the battery and this one appears to perform way above average so far. The frame of the watch stands out well above the glass, which will prevent the screen from taking damage. It connected right away to my phone and the rubber band is softer than standard.Great watch overalll so far.

Love this watch from going from a fit bit to a Garmin wow more than impressed. I went for this model due to its dual ability and it’s functions as I did not one where you needed a degree in rocket science. I opted for a non touch screen due to being hard wearing but you still got all the functions of a smart watch.

I bought this garmin to replace the lack luster Fitbit charge 3. Having used it for approximately 10 days I can already tell the step count is much more accurate and the battery life way better. I do like the mobile app, but I feel the sleep portion could provide a but more information. I particularly like the fact that I can call my heart rate to my wahoo app to get better work out stats. That’s another plus, the heart rate seems much more accurate with the Garmin.
