I use it for scuba diving, freediving, spearfishing, hiking, and bicycling. Didn’t notice any audio pinging while scuba diving but I dive California and we wear hoods out here. My favorite feature is the GPS it’s amazing to see your entry point and exit point at the end of a dive. The dive log on the app exceeds my needs. I just love this thing.

This really is a top notch watch. The watch pretty much does everything you need almost independently without the phone. It is great if your on vacation and don’t want to carry extra items with you that you may lose such as credit cards etc. Really accurate dive computer. Saves and logs everything so you really don’t need to manually put anything on paper anymore if you so choose.

Never expected a company like Garmin to do what I always thought Casio was going to do first. Battery life is extraordinary considering it is communicating with the transmitter all the time. Diving 5 days a week cleaning boats only leaves me wanting for a deeper setting to start dives, it is 4 feet and can not be changed. Many times it ends my dives because of it, but it is the nature of my work, when cleaning large boats it works as expected. Oh, and I go though my week with one precautionary charge in between, it can possibly last the five days with 6 hours of diving a day. The tracking of other aspects of your life such as breathing rate is impressive, and even if it were to not be perfectly accurate, it is still a great support tool for health and sports. Speaking of which, it is ready for ALL of them, from playing golf to jumping out of an airplane, to holding your breath to freedive. And it can be set in indoor modes for gym use too. Pretty sure there will be detractors, there always are, but this things really does it all with a high level of care, and customization. The edge (bezel) of the watch is soft enough to scratch with relative ease, the glass however is all but bullet proof. It would be desirable to have more and better options to protect this high end product from cosmetic blemishes for everyday use, but it’s not a perfect world, is it?

I have owned 2 garmins Mk 1 and Mk 2 I have really enjoyed both of them, and only got rid of the MK 1 to upgrade to the MK2 which offered a smaller, more feminine design- unfortunately this came with the price of a little decreased battery life, but still a great watch- I probably wouldn’t have upgraded, but my Apple Watch was broken and I was wearing my MK 1 everyday as a smart watch and as a petit woman it looked a little funny.I digressThe MK 2 offers air integration, if you’re into that kinda thing- I’m an old school SPG girl myself.Yes the gps doesn’t work underwater ie you can’t swim randomly in one direction and Siri won’t turn on directions and tell you how to get back 🤪but, it drops a GPS marker with EXACT coordinates of your entry and exit points (coordinates go all the way to like the 8th decimal place). And there are several screens once the computer enters “dive mode” one of which is a very detailed compus. Prior to my first MK1 I had a very basic scuba pro dive computer. Every time I wanted to change my nitrox percentage, or alter any dive perameters, it was hard to use and not intuitive. The garmin is easy to use and very intuitive. I can also screenshot some photos of the app and show you how the GPS coordinates pull up- but you can also access them on the computer itself. It’s got lots of other great features- HR, RR, SPO2 analysis and calculates an exact % of N2 and CNS 02 toxicity in blood. It can also be used with other sports including kayaking, paddle boarding, running, or anything you wanna use it for. You can also pay extra to get color weather radar and lots of other apps. Garmin also offers the opportunity to set up emergency contacts who can access your latest gps info in case of emergency. (Yeah if you didn’t make it back to the surface you wouldn’t have a second mark) but if you are lost and your computer is still working on the surface you can manually drop GPS pins at any time and I’m assuming your emergency contact would be able to see them. It has lots of great features. Just takes playing around with it and getting to know your computer. I’ve done about 100 dives with Garmin now and I’m never going back!I need to get garmin to sponser me lol. I’m a huge believer in their product.

So far love it. I wear glasses and have lenses in my dive goggles. So some of the reading is hard to do. I accidentally passed NDL, the screens switched but it became less intuitive. NOT the time I want less intuition. So at 110ft, 1 NDL, heading up and Deco popped. Your normal screens disappear and new ones take their place. Which would be fine but you don’t get to practice with them in advance, so you are learning what the watch is doing in a Deco mode. Sort of insane. Anyway, I figured it out so I suspect many might. Just pay careful attention and take a minute to read the screens (from 3 to 2 as I recall) and follow the instructions on stops and times. Other than “surprise, all your screens are changing (and yes I read ahead of time on this just in case)” it’s a great watch. The finish scuffs a bit easily, but it is a dive watch mostly (for me) and nothing remains as if new. Ah, one more minor issue. I have the titanium band. It fits my wrist. But the expansion for diving makes it VERY tight on a 7mm wetsuit and impossible if you wear gloves. The band expander, to avoid manual adjustments for diving and non-diving, needs 3mm more or less greater opening.

Had a fenix 6x sapphire before this and for my diving and all my other water sports all in one fitness watch…absolutely AMAZING!!!

I bought the watch prior to a trip to Grand Cayman. Wore it for a few days (all day and all night). Awesome features. I’ve never been a watch guy but started to love it. Then one of the buttons got stuck. I called customer service, and they suggested to soak it in warm water or clean around the button with alcohol. No problem. But I asked “If that doesn’t work, what else can we do?” The response was that they could ship the watch to me international, but I’d have to pay $40 for shipping. If you can afford this watch, $40 shouldn’t be a deal killer. But on principal alone, if the watch is defective, and Garmin can’t cover $40 for international shipping, then WFT?! This is a huge fail in my book. The watch may be great (I’ll assess the diving functions if I can actually use in 2 days, assuming the fixes work), but customer service should be equal to the quality of the watch, especially at this price point. If the company can’t fix their own defect without charging me for shipping so I can actually dive with it, then that is an epic customer service fail. As always, buyer beware. Garmin, you should re-think your policy on things like this…my respect for Garmin just dropped off a cliff.

I bought this as an upgrade to my Garmin Descent G1. I love that the controls are identical. The screen is easily readable in the sun, and it’s big enough to see everything needed during a dive. It’s awesome having the air integration. No more going back and forth between my SPG and my dive computer. Tons of apps and activity trackers like the Garmin Fenix watches. The T1 takes CR123 batteries which are extremely easy to replace. This was a major selling feature to me since CR123 batteries are available everywhere and I have several flashlights that use them, so I always have spares on hand. All you need is a coin to open the battery compartment. The battery is protected by dual seals. The T1 does make some noise when in use as it communicates with the watch via sound. Doesn’t bother me at all. This is a pricey combo, but it does it all. Buy once cry once… You won’t be disappointed.

The product is absolutely amazing, I have had six other similar products, but nothing like this. It is perfect for all personal activities. The only thing I wished for, is that the product came with a second battery.

He like the functionality that he can use the watch while golfing and scuba diving ect

I got this for my husband because I knew he wanted to use this as his dive computer. The battery is drained quicker when being used as a dive computer but over all it will hold a charge for up to 6 days when not diving. It also does everything else that he wants it to do. I like that it has a gps on it for him to use while hunting and it shows all of his notifications. It really is worth it in my opinion. I kinda wish they had a more feminine version so I could get one but until then I will stick to my Apple Watch.

A little complicated to set up but once configured it’s a perfect dive partner.
