I ordered this watch for my mother through Amazon. When trying to activate it, I found out that the watch was already registered under another name. Thank goodness I could return it. I then ordered a new watch through Medical Guardian. When it arrived and I tried to activate it for a second time, and found out there wasn’t coverage in the area. I don’t reccomend this product.

Sense of security knowing mom is safe, definitely not waterproof.

I’m sure the watch would be ok if I was ever able to get it connected. After an hour on the phone with Medical Guardian, they wait it just wouldn’t connect in my area. I returned it the next day, but Medical Guardian is still billing me and the nasty letters are starting. I sent them a cancellation for no less than four times, to which they cannot find. Worst customer service ever

Easy to setup. Love the simplistic design with easy to navigate touch screen interface. Looks like a smartwatch…perfect for those who don’t want the look of traditional emergency alert devices. Grandma loves the additional features such as text-to-speech messaging, alerts/reminders and weather forecast.

I ordered the device for my grandfather and was able to reach customer service with no problem, the agent was friendly and accommodating with info I requested. I was informed service may be cancelled any time for any reason as I am under no contract. This is to be a post-paid service so the $49.95 monthly charge will not be deducted until 30days from activation. I downloaded the app for iPhone and was on the website creating an account so I may send messages to my grandfather. I utilized the online chat there in order to find the account number used to create the login. Again, the service was fast and friendly and the info I had requested was found and relayed to me promptly. When the test was performed on the device during activation, I was not in the location of my grandfathers home, but the locating service accurately pinpointed my whereabouts. I am happy with the service I have received thus far and would recommend this purchase for anyone who is hesitant based on the negative reviews found on the guardian website.

This watch is like a guardian, it helps a friend of mine to stay on top her medication, it will help her if she falls, she can make phone calls through it, it is loaded with helpfulness. This watch is like a alert button however this watch does way more. I feel much better knowing she wears it and if something would happen that it will be addressed right a way. There is a monthly fee for this service but to us it is worth it. It eases our minds and hers as well.

First the ad states one month free, but that only pertains to just having access to the help center. You don’t get messaging or calendar or alerts. They claim to have and provide you with an account number but it isn’t active until after your first month when you pay so you do not have access to the app as advertised. So if you planned to use the app, messaging or calendar and alerts, you won’t get it until you pay for it. So really it’s false advertising. Amazon needs to be aware of this and not support companies doing this behavior.

Beware! I purchased this product to give my grandmother some freedom from using a bulking safety alert pendent. If you purchase this device you from Amazon you will have to pay $10 more a month for service vs purchasing through the vendor’s website. This is not posted in the description. This device runs on ATT cell towers. Although my ATT cell phone works fine at my grandmother’s house, this device could not pick up a strong enough signal for it to work. I could not return the item through Amazon and I was out the $75. I have cancelled the service and submitted all the required paperwork to end the monthly service; however, I continue to be billed with empty promises from this company. Buyer beware!

Although the device was of a pleasing design, it proved to have very poor cellular reception. Multiple tests were made, and the watch took far too long to connect to the emergency response center. This was surprising to me, given that we live in a heavily populated area of the country, and we generally have good cell phone coverage. I hear that a 4G version of the watch may be available in the future. I surely hope so. Please thoroughly test this device before allowing a loved one to rely upon it!See more

I absolutely love this medical alert that is also a watch and more. It is easy to wear, easy to recharge. I always feel safe – but also stylish. I wish you did some advertising so others would know about your absolutely unique offering. No other company can offer a watch that is GPS an accompanying pendant. It fits my needs perfectly. No false alarms from accidently bumping into a counter. No chance of EMTs showing up un-needed. But – I had a difficult time finding you.See moreAlthough the device was of a pleasing design, it proved to have very poor cellular reception. I had high hopes for this product and was extremely disappointed. I called the 800 number listed on the outside of the box, and it was disconnected – I should’ve known this was a bad sign! I opened the box and the SIM card had already been punched out and inserted into the phone. While charging the phone, I googled Freedom Guardian looking for a general number to call, and out of 3 listed, only 1 worked – the other 2 were disconnected, not counting the one the was on the box. I got an automated after-hours voicemail (it was on a Saturday afternoon) and left a message. I read over the instructions, downloaded the app and in order to register for the app, you need an account number that’s supposed to be listed on the outside of the box. There was none and I even tried to use the serial numbers, hoping it was considered the account number, but no luck. Monday rolled around, no callback, so I called on Tuesday and I got the automated “all of our representatives are currently assisting other callers, someone will be with you shortly”. After about 20 minutes of being on hold, I got a live person who said all representatives are still assisting other callers, will take a message and pass it along to the next available representative. Ugh! I left a message and still, no one called back. I called again on Wednesday and went through the same routine. The representative said there was nothing she could do but take a message and at that point, I decided to return it. How can I trust this company to help out my mother in the event of an emergency, when I keep getting the runaround? I was extremely disappointed since I liked the idea of a watch, opposed to an obvious looking medical device, but I’m not willing to risk safety for looks

Finally I got this father’s day gift for my dad and it looks and functions great. As he gets older, I’m always worried when he goes out on his own. But we’ll both feel much safer with him wearing this smartwatch. It’s pretty easy to use, and convenient to carry around. And, we really like the design, since it doesn’t look anything like a medical alert product so my dad can feel free to wear it comfortably with feeling offended. I hope he continues to like it!

Bought this for my elderly mom. It’s BIG and band is tough for her to put on by herself. We ended up putting a new, easy clasp band on it for her. Maker does not offer this, we went to a jeweler. She lives alone and it gives us (her kids) a little piece of mind

The interface on this smartwatch is great and large enough for the elderly to navigate. It’s a wonderful concept to have a watch that provides emergency response when needed. Highly recommend for your loved ones!

The phone number on the box was disconnected.I googled medical guardian to find a number to call. The operators were nice and patient but the watch couldn’t connect to any internet despite the fact I’m in at&t coverage territory in a large city. The device didn’t even let me power it down. Waiting for them to send me a new device directly from medical guardian and will update then. Update one month later by the time I tried setting watch number two up after waiting days for a. All from the tech team we could never get the watch to hear our voice and a false alarm was alerted and emergency vehicles were dispatched! For a while I decided it would be worth being able to text my mom even if she couldn’t use the emergency button but the texting interface kept defaulting to Eastern time which meant my reminders weren’t correct and I kept having to change them. On top of that texting only worked when I was testing the watch when she was not at her apartment building- when she was inside her apartment it never got the texts. So finally after dealing with many factors I returned all of this- out $99 for the watch and actually another $150 for 3 months of services. What a Waste!

So far this medical alert device from Freedom Guardian is working fine. It is a wrist watch type that is large, but very helpful. By pushing the white button on the side, the time and date show up on a colorful watch face. Tap the face and the time is delivered by a pleasant voice. The red button below the white one is for alerting the monitoring center that help us needed. Press the red button twice and it will be answered by a person who will make sure that help is in the way. I have had no problems with it so far, and I feel very secure wearing it.

Love this product and how it looks like a tech watch instead of a traditional medical alert device. Perfect for younger people with health challenges like myself!

Horrible customer service. Spent hours on hold just to setup the device. Lied to by customer representatives more than once. Emergency services DISPATCHED while testing the device per representative instructions. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
