The product is simple and works great except for one thing – you need to be very careful when replacing the battery. An illustration on the box tells you to pull this little tab but it doesn’t tell you that the strap needs to be straightened first. It won’t come out otherwise. If you use excessive force the pulling tab breaks! That’s what happened to me. The entire plastic band fits very tightly in the outer shell but it is relying on a very weak strap for you to pull out for battery replacement. This is a major design flaw.

I purchased these LED Slap Bracelets for visibility during my night time runs. Once activated they are very bright and can been seen several blocks away. I purchased two blue ones for each of my wrists. The bracelets are an updated version of the ’90’s slap bracelet. You straighten them out and then “slap” them onto your wrists or ankles to make them secure. There is a concealed button on one of the ends that activate the lights. One push is for a steady burning light and two pushes is for blinking. The bracelets are very secure. I’ve ran multiple times from 3 to 7 miles at a time and not once did they ever feel unsecure. Great product for the money and piece of mind.

I like this product, although it could be improved. It is relatively bright, and it does the job of highlighting the fact there is a person in the dark.If I was cycling etc, I would still recommend wearing a high Vis jacket, this is because as soon as headlights shine towards the armband, it can no longer be seen. there is no reflective gear on this bit of kit – the down fall. If they had 2 strips of reflective fabric on each side, that would make it a far superior product. all round though I would say that this is a good product, and well worth the money. The snap band does have a tendency to slip off if you have large arms or a baggy coat.PROS:Illuminates your arm/ leg so others can see youFits ins your pocket when not in use.CONS:Not super brightCan fall off arm if wearing coat or other baggy clothingNot reflectiveI would still recommend this product!

I haven’t stress tested it, but I can say that it is easy to put on and it does work for at least an hour or so (which is how much I used it). I basically use it at night when pokewalking so that people know I’m with team valor (and also so that friends can find me quickly if we’re playing in a crowd and we get separated because we’re going in different directions to look for different pokemon). One thing that struck me as odd is that it has a metal ‘button’ with a hole on one side that looks like it’s a socket to a button (as in the kind that you use to keep your coat ‘buttoned’), but there’s nothing on the opposite end of the bracelet that would be used for that purpose. I haven’t figured out why it has that, but it’s not really a big issue. But yeah, it’s pretty big and the circle can be pretty small, so I’m fairly certain people of all sizes can use it. I don’t have one with me at the moment, so I can’t confirm whether it’d fit toddlers or not, but I can assure you it’ll fit virtually any teenager or older. Also, in case it wasn’t evident, the way to use it is to pull it open – this makes it erect. Then you slap it on your wrist and it wraps around it. You can click a hidden switch underneath the surface to get a solid light. You click it again to make it flash. And you click it a third time to turn it off.

I have been using these bracelets (2 of them) for 2 weeks now. I go running/walking at 5am PST so needless to say, it is pretty dark. And while the streets are lit, not every crevice of the sidewalk is lit. Sometimes you cannot use the sidewalk and must share the road with vehicles. Stationary lights mounted to your head, your back/chest, etc. don’t always give drivers the whole picture. These bracelets do. I have one on each forearm, so as I am in motion, drivers see me nice and clear. At first when you put them on, they may slide a bit, or even feel slippery. After a few minutes of running (my experience), once you begin to perspire, these bracelets grip you much better, and stop sliding. I have used them daily Monday-Friday for 2 weeks, 1-1 1/2 hours per day, and I use the setting of “solid” on both of them, and the batteries have not lost any power, much less died. I am extremely happy with these bracelets, and feel safer wearing them.

I bought these after a nearly being hit by a truck when I was walking in my neighborhood after dark. Although the driver did run the stop sign, I’m also sure he probably didn’t see me because I was wearing dark clothing. I often walk after dinner at night for my health and decided for my own safety (and health) to try these slap bands. They are long enough to fit on the cuff of my winter weight coat and have enough spring to hold-on. They are easy to remove and coil up to fit easily in my coat pocket. When I’m walking in well lit areas, I turn off the lights with a simple press of the switch that is embedded in the end of the band. There is a flashing mode for situations I might want to draw more attention in high traffic areas. I usually leave it in the always-on mode. It uses small coin type batteries, which so far are running strong after about 5 hours of use. These aren’t super bright, but add to visibility. They aren’t made of reflective material, so if the led’s are turned off, the visual impact is minimal. My guess is that for the material to be transparent enough for the light to pass thru, then a reflective material couldn’t be used.

Love the fact that there were two surprise batteries included, as from past experience they last ages in similar armbands. Blue is not really noticeable a daylight, but otherwise excellent. When worn by an adult they don’t fit so well on upper arms, and certainly not over bulky clothes, so perhaps the manufacturers could consider a version with Velcro fasteners and a elastic insert? Yellow is generally more effective a colour at night but I really fancied the blue ones, as that’s my favourite colour!

Admittedly we have had several sets of these over the past 2 or 3 years. When the first set of batteries give up, putting new batteries in solves the problem. However, after a year or two eventually even putting in new batteries will not get it to light up. And the on/off button seems to have a point when it packs up too. I have asked the seller if the inner workings strip can be replaced rather than having to buy a whole new set of bands, but alas that is not an option. Something else for the landfill. And eWaste won’t take the inner workings because there’s too much plastic in the item. Also have to add that they are not waterproof: if you sweat a lot or get caught in the rain while wearing them, you are going to need to take the batteries out when you get home and let the whole thing dry out before reassembling (this is something they need to fix and make the bands waterproof).
