March 10, 2023To all I have revised my previous Amazon survey and review on my PowrLabs HRM. I am a happy customer. I have received overwhelming and very helpful technical support from the PowrLabs tech team. The most surprising aspect of this review process from previous unfavorable review was the very understanding and most accommodating support from the Founder and Owner of the company. I experienced the most gracious, top to bottom, technical support I ever received. My PowrLabs HRM is successfully paired and working as expected. It’s the most cost-effective device of its kind. I am a happy customer.November 2022, I received my Powrlab Heart Rate Monitor (wrist, arms) version. I was able to easily setup the device and configure to my Peloton Exercise Bike. As of last week, it stopped working and a brief hiatus from my Peloton Bike exercises, I was no longer able to view the Powrlabs heart monitor rate displayed on my Peloton bike table nor my TV. Today, I called Peloton Tech Support, after many logistical and basic troubleshooting steps, there was No change. I would return the device, but I am just passed my return day “window” date January 31, 2023.I have updated my firmware and I managed to revert to a previous firmware version, with the help of Peloton tech support. After recycling the power on the bike, I managed to pair the heart monitor to the Peloton Tablet, Apple Watch (the two device limit). All should be working, as I have previously experienced, all except the Powrlabs monitor readings not being displayed on any device. If I did not have the good professional Peloton tech support, I would have felt, somehow Peloton blocked the pairing of the block, so I would purchase their heart monitor, but I have enough technical experience to know this is not the case. So, I will continue to try and get this device to work.

If a product “claims” to work with a product and has it in their instructions, and if the instructions are followed to the letter – IT SHOULD WORK OUT OF THE BOX. It didn’t. I tried to connect to my Peloton multiple times using their directions – it never connected. I contacted the manufacturer and they were VERY responsive , and after a few emails they forwarded to me the CORRECT procedure for pairing the device with the Peloton. I am giving them 4 stars mostly for the customer service – I would have given 5 because the product actually is pretty good – I just was a little frustrated with their docs being inaccurate. For those of you with a Pelton – new gen or old – you cannot pair this device using the Bluetooth menu, you must go into the “Heart Rate Monitor” menu on the Modal Dialog that pops up when you join a class. Why that is not in the instructions I don’t get, but using that method I was able to connect my device to my Peloton. The video on their website is inaccurate as well.

For some reason battery dies quickly but great, simple and inexpensive.

I just received this and love it. In the past I’ve used chest bands for workouts and I hated the way they’d slip down to my waist & the need to wash them frequently. Plus, whenever I’d have to change the battery they were usually done working. I’ve done a weightlifting workout, kayaking & cycling and my heart rate is right where I’d expect it, similar to previous workouts with the chest strap. The heart rate pickup on the watch itself is fine when you’re sitting around but awful when you’re actually doing something so this is a great buy.Edit: Since my initial review this unit has started acting up while paddling. Until now it worked fine and the reading was similar to my chest strap for previous efforts. But now it is giving very high heart rates, well above my tested maximum heart rate. So whereas I usually average 155bpm for an hour I’m now seeing 170s, 180s & 190s with spikes into the 210 range. My max is 184 so it’s obviously wrong to be plowing ahead at 195bpm and feeling fine. It doesn’t do this for cycling & weight training.Edit: The company is sending me a new armband to solve the problem of spiking heart rates. I will update once I receive it. For now I’ve put my rating back to 5 because they jumped on this very quickly.

This HRM works great easy to use and set up

As opposed to the other band I tried, this one works out of the box.

When my old chest strap died-after many years and miles of sweaty service, I thought I would try a bicep based heart rate monitor. Powr Labs seemed the most affordable, so I ordered it. The data seems accurate and similar to the data in Trying Peaks from my old chest strap. And, the customer support is first rate. I know this because I misread the manual and needed some serious hand holding to get up and running. The support staff was friendly and patient, and got me sorted out. To repeat, the problem was with my misreading the manual, not with the device.I’m pleased with this purchase, and have suggested it to other friends who run.

Easy to use. My fiancé uses it daily

Multiple choices for ANT connection with a wide array of exercise apps. Tried several with some being better than others and ended up settling with the Polar Beat app which provides a nice size display , will not go to sleep mid way through my work out and has offered a flawless connection to date. Also holds a charge that lasts throughout my weekly workouts.

Thus HR band comes with one page of simple instructions. Once I charged it I walked over to my peloton and was able to sync it in no more than 30 second and it worked…just like that. My heart rate showed up on the peloton screen during my ride with no extra work. Easy peasy. That’s the way it should be 🙂

Hooked up easily with my NordicTrack treadmill and other Bluetooth devices, including my Garmin 7X Fenix. But the rate was crazy high. I’m in my 50’s. I do not get a max heart rate of 200 anymore. It was regularly reading in the 190’s and 60 bpm faster than my other optical HR meter. Which throttles my workout to a walk on the adaptive treadmill.Used it side by side with other products and always way overestimated. Also compared to perceived effort. Had me in zone V when I was completely comfortable and conversational. Not worth my time to figure out. Just more junk in my fitness drawer.Seems nicely made of it worked.

This thing was perfect for a month. Accurate, sweat didn’t bother it, didn’t skip a beat. However, now that I have been using it steady for a month, it is all over the place. Will drop to zero right in the middle of a workout, then jump up to 180 a couple seconds later. Not at all trustworthy anymore. I tried it the last 3 days in a row and I get the same thing…it is just all over the map on HR numbers. Guess I will spend the extra and go with a more reliable brand. I don’t recommend POWR LABS.Update: POWR LABS reached out and made things right. Customer service is superb and worth the 5 stars alone. I am truly hoping that I received a defective one and will give them another try.

This HR Monitor is Great!Much easier to put on / take off than a chest HR strap. No need to wet it to get a reading.Highly accurate (checked it against a stopwatch)Pairs easily with iFIT.Costs about 33% less than the iFit band.
