These socks work, but only provide heat to the toes… A LOT OF HEAT. Even with a temperature trolley, I couldn’t get these things to be anything but SUPER HOT all of the time, unbearably hot. I would have liked them to be responsive to my temperature controls (which are also made by Firstgear) so that you could actually adjust the heat output, but the second they were on, even slightly, they became immediately too hot to leave on. So my feet were either freezing or frying. There was no middle ground whatsoever.I’ll give these socks 2 stars only because the craftsmansxcode is excellent. If you ignore the review and decide to purchase a set, get at least one size larger than you think you’ll need. Even against bare feet, they run at least one size too small. So if your foot is at the top of the sock’s range, get the next size up.My advice? Get some warm wool socks and a pair of nice waterproof insulated boots.

I have had a pair of these socks for about three years. Is ride to work all year round, here in Central California during the winter my feet get cold on the 45 minute ride to work. These do get hot, in fact, as one reviewer said, they get so hot by themselves that you can’t wear them without a controller. I use them with a pair of heated chaps that I have had for years, and if you use a controller to lower the heat, then your legs and body are not heated enough, so I have found that if you put them over a pair of regular socks they work great. The heat is just right. But, on three occasions I have had the wires inside the socks come apart, I have been able to fix them by going inside them and soldering the wires back together, but that is kid of a bummer. They come apart from pulling them on. Could be I got a size to small as they are tight. The heat on the top of the toes is good for riding, and my feet stay worm, just be carful when you are putting them on.

Important days of my life, the day I got married, the birth of my children and the day my heated socks were delivered
Yeah, I did –
Bulky and enormous. I so wanted these socks to work! But I had to return them. Maybe they fit men but they don’t fit a woman with a size 8 foot. Hmmmmph

I wear size 12, it’s a snug fit at first but it gets better. Work great in this cold weather, only needed the low temperature.

I bought these because I work in an office and my feet are cold every day, all day long. They work great! The only setback is the length (mid-calf) and the battery pack size which is fairly large. (I feel like they resemble wearing a house arrest ankle bracelet). Please make these into ankle socks with a smaller battery pack! The batteries do take several hours to charge, but also last several hours at a time.

I purchased them for my wife, She works in a very cold ware house on a cement floor all year long and there is no heat during the winter, She used toe warmers for years but sometimes they would work and sometimes they wouldn’t, So I came across these shopping for warmer socks for her and decided to purchase them….. Best thing thing I ever bought for her she said! Easy to use and rechargeable batteries with charger.

Only warms the bottom of the foot. These don’t really keep the foot warm if you have really cold feet. I gave them to my husband and he was unable to keep his whole foot war.

I would not buy these. They don’t even get warm and now I find out I cannot return them. Worn once and then tested again in my garage to make sure my controller and connections work and confirmed the socks are not working. I wish I would have known of the no return policy on this item; I would have never bought them. $85 down the drain. Avoid at all costs. Hard lesson learned.

Bought these to ice fish in the cold lakes of Michigan. Obviously haven’t tested them outside since it’s still warm out, but tried them inside last night and was very impressed with the amount of heat coming from them. With my old pair I would get localized hot spots, but not with these! I’ll update later after my first use outside!
