I have several HR straps, and the Garmin is great when used with Garmin devices. Like the Polar H10, it has great HR accuracy, supports HRV RR.The Garmin strap has also several features specific to Garmin devices: you can wear it instead of the watch to record your HR, and have synced to the watch later. You can start an activity, take the watch off, and then download the HR to the watch later (useful when the activity makes it cumbersome to wear a watch – think martial arts, for example). The strap also sends running power and pace to the watch, as well as running dynamics. Among the running dynamics features, I found the left/right ground contact balance very useful. There are 3 drawbacks in my experience, compared with the Polar H10:- calibrating the strap for pace is not easy, and I didn’t manage to do it properly yet. The process works, but when I run again on the same treadmill, the distance is still significantly off, despite the GPS automatic calibration done when running outside, and doing a manual calibration.- the garmin strap is not as practical. You cannot change it separately. It doesn’t stick as well to the skin as the Polar H10. Finally, the closing system is an open hook. When you adjust it after it slipped, it can get completely loose. A mess if you are exercising…- changing the battery is not easy. You can easily damage the o-ring and the strap will deteriorate very fast. Note that this issue has been address with the HRM-Pro Plus, the newer model. When the strap wears out, I doubt I will replace it. I know I will forego some excellent integration with the garmin watches.

This is Garmin. It works without complaint.

So far, its comfortable. Pairs well with my Garmin watch. The treadmill distance accuracy when used for speed and distance is hit and miss. But, have already used it for 40 miles in a matter of 4 days. Does the HR side very good.

I purchased the Garmin HRM-PRO for one reason – I wanted to have the ability to monitor as accurate as possible real time heart rate data while running. The product is a decent design and fits comfortably around my chest – much smaller & neater than I expected.Forgive me if I’ve missed something here Garmin team – you can’t monitor real time heart data out of the box – you need to sync the device with Strava. I wouldn’t recommend Zift – a brief look at this app gave me a headache – some kind of meta verse akin to fortnite.Syncing with Strava allows you to see real time heart data as you train. You need to ensure your Bluetooth privacy preferences are set to allow Strava & that the device is only linked to Strava (Bluetooth can only support 1 connection).Garmin strike me as being good at hardware and not so good at the software (why would you pay a premium price for the HRM-PRO to only be able to view historical heart rate data in the Garmin Connect app?! Historical heart rate data is no use to me once I’ve had a heart attack!!). Overall good – you will need to be relatively tech savvy or get someone who is to do initial setup. Garmin support we’re helpful with their live chat. Happy training!

Frustration. Over the 3 models of Garmin HRMs (4 total owned), they’ve averaged 4-5 months. Longest stretch was 10 months, and the shortest was 1 month. This particular model lasted 7 months. Also for insight, I average 6 hours per week of training (312 hours per year). At roughly $100 each, that’ll be nearly $200-300 per year.**These DO NOT fair well in open water swims.**Highly recommend just using it for bike or running sessions.I’ll notice at some point the data will get skewed; heart rate spikes/drops, however, I know I’m not pushing myself. So I’ll replace the battery, but the monitor will not transmit data again. Previous models, you would notice the corrosion build up, but this newer one is either hard to tell, or a different situation entirely. The data transmitted to Garmin Connect App is valuable to tailoring your workouts, and provides great insight on your overall health. Would love to see them at least last a full year, but so far, no luck.

Not much to add to be honest. If you know tbe brand, you know the quality. It syncs perfectly with no issues. It fits nice and it doesn’t move as the strap is comfortable and has a nice grip

I am very happy with my Garmin HRM Pro. It fits beautifully into my Garmin ecosystem. Seamlessly connecting with my Garmin watch and my phone. It has given me more control over my activities and helps me improve or tweak my physical routines.

I liked how easy and quickly it connects to your garmin watch. I have the garmin fenix 6 for reference. It is a great way to get a much more accurate HR reading whenever you go for a run or are exercising. This will help you to remain in the proper HR zones that you need to be in order to train better.

Super easy to use. Linked up with my Garmin FR255 super quick and my treadmill when I use it.
