Straight up, this is a GREAT idea. My wife’s feet never feel warm during the winter, so when I came across this, it seemed like design gold. Charge the insole up, use an app to set the temperature, and off you go!Great idea in theory, but there are some unfortunate design flaws that need to be addressed:1. App drains the phone battery – horribly. Seems to suck our phone dry. Theoretically, turning off the app should leave your insole set to whatever temperature you had set it to when it turned off, but in practice they don’t work that way for us.2. Insole is thick (which, of course, means you need to remove the shoes’ insoles as expected). For flat walking shoes (New Balance), the insole seems to fit with the heel fairly well. In Nikes, though, it seemed very uncomfortable – results vary by shoe and I’m not sure how one gets past that.3. Insole battery life. This might be a difficult one to fight. My wife likes the 104 degree setting (which seems hot, but it’s only 6-7 degrees above body temperature), but the battery only lasts about 3.5 hours maximum at that setting. To be fair, this is AS ADVERTISED and that life is clearly spelled out on the packaging, so it is performing as expected. It does make one wish, however, that they could find a way to stretch the battery another 2 hours somehow but thermodynamics/physics is a hard fight to win.4. Initial pairing…was PAINFUL. Took me about 20 minutes of trying before it would finally negotiate a connection with a Samsung Galaxy S7. Based on the app rating, this appears to be a common issue. However, now that they’re paired, they seem to connect just fine but that leads to #5.5. After the insoles are charged, you have to turn these suckers on prior to putting them back in your shoe – otherwise, you can’t re-establish a connection with your phone. While not a deal-killer, you’ll learn quickly to REMEMBER to turn these one…remote power activation doesn’t appear to work in our trial.There are some good design features in the insole, despite its drawbacks. The fact that you can actually cut the tops off (with a clearly defined safe line for cutting) to adjust the size of the insole is a good feature.Bottom line – I really, really loved the idea of this product. With some improvements, I see a pretty good feature in this product especially for the elderly, diabetic sufferers, and anyone who suffers from poor circulation and/or lives in a cold weather environment.

These Digitsole Warm Series Insoles have some outstanding positives and notable negatives. Looking at the positive aspects first, they work. Once paired with your smartphone, you can adjust the temperature of the right and left insole separately. They fit as expected, slip into most of my footwear easily, and don’t slide around. Note that they will make your feet ride a bit higher just because they are thick insoles, but I don’t really consider this a negative as I like the cushioned support. They work very well with the low ¾ boots I often wear. I also like that they have tracking capability (distance, calories burned, number of steps, course mapping). I’ve been on the 10,000 daily step routine for a while now, and this step tracker is handy and seems to be a relatively accurate way of monitoring my steps.Here are the negative aspects I encountered: I initially tried to pair this with a Samsung Galaxy 7, but gave up in frustration after half an hour of trying. The pairing process went quickly with an iPhone 7 however. I also found some minor issues setting up the device. For instance, in setting your height, the listed heights are in tenths of a foot rather than standard height settings. The weight setting is in 2 lb increments. Thus, if you want to enter exact body height and weight data, you’ll have some trouble. Also, this drains your phone battery if you’re using it to count steps with the Bluetooth on. The app is finicky, and sometimes will unpair from the soles while wearing them, needs to be re-paired, entailing taking off your shoes, and your current data can be lost.Functionally, I didn’t really feel much heat until I adjusted the heat settings to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, even though they recommend keeping it in a “comfort zone” between 85 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. I started at about 88 degrees and moved up in temperature incrementally over the course of an hour before I felt something. Admittedly, when I tested these again without socks on, I could detect a heat difference at about 94 degrees. Since I’ll always be wearing these with socks, however, I keep them at about 105 degrees. Unfortunately, at that temperature, the battery drains much faster. Since I would usually want these in the morning when I step out the door into the cold, it works long enough for me. Some mornings, I crank them up to the maximum (113 degrees Fahrenheit) to build up some heat for better comfort. I devised an easy fix for this issue: I’ve started bringing the two-port charger to work and plugging in the insoles under my desk after lunch so that they’ll be charged for the commute home, when walking to transit.Finally, I wish there were some way of remotely turning on the insoles, but you’ll need to take off your shoes, take out the insole, open the cover over the controls and push the button each time. As I usually turn them on right after unplugging them from the charger, and this needs to be charged twice daily at my temperature and length of use, it’s not a big deal, but still something that Digitsole should consider in future models.All in all, I like the concept of this product, but I can see that there is room for improvement in future upgrades. Despite the shortcomings noted, these Digitsole Warm Series Insoles do a decent job of keeping my feet warm when it’s cool outside.

Can take a while to link up, multiple attempts to link but works well when it does link upit adds about half an inch to the heel, and some of my boots don’t have a removable insole, so it gets a bit snug but at least its a warm snugalso, one of the little flaps to cover where the cord plugs in , is impossible to line up and lock in place. The other one works perfectly, just a minor flaw but irritating none the less

These fit men’s feat from 8.5 to 10.5.The only reason I don’t think these are a knock your socks off purchase, is because the battery doesn’t last for more than a couple of hours.Not at all good for a long walk in the snow
