Solgaard Lifepack Backpack Combines Solar + Sound
The Solgaard Lifepack is a lockable backpack that includes an external interchangeable slot that allows you to enhance the bag with either Solar Portable Charger, or Bluetooth Speaker. With stylish looks and unique features this is a great bag for the summer!
- ANTI-THEFT COIL LOCK: Each Lifepack is equipped with a patented anti-theft integrated and retractable cable lock designed to keep both the bag, and its contents, completely safe. This locking system can wrap around a pole, attach to a bench or chair, or even around a small tree. The lock then fits through both zippers on the bag, making its contents inaccessible without the code. It also has secret passport pockets that are great for passports, cash and/or credit cards.
- HARNESS THE POWER OF THE SUN: Solar panels automatically charge in the sunlight, enabling it to collect and store energy whenever you’re out and about. 4 hours of sun is equal to 1 phone charge. When full, the battery will charge your phone 5 times. To charge from empty via solar only, it will take 20+ hours of strong sunlight. We suggest to charge it via a wall outlet, then let the sun top up the Solarbank as you use it. TSA allows for battery-powered items to be carried in your carry on.
- WORKZONE AND LIFEZONE COMPARTMENTS: Compartmentalize like a pro. Access daily essentials while keeping your life and work separate with two main storage areas. Rest easy knowing a sock won’t fly out of your bag in a meeting as you grab your laptop. As a company, one of our biggest goals is to reduce the amount of plastic in the ocean. Each bag is made with a recycled plastic inner lining that helps remove 5lbs of bottle plastic from the ocean.
- DIMENSIONS AND WARRANTY: Both the Lifepack and Solarbank are lightweight and reasonably sized. The Lifepack weighs X and has dimensions of 11.6 inches by 18.5 inches by 7 inches. It comes protected by an extended 24-month manufacturer’s warranty so you can rest assured knowing your bag is going to last. The Boombox weighs only .55 lbs and has dimensions of 6.2 inches by 3.5 inches by 3/4 inches. It comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty.

Bought this bag in May 2017 to use for the summer. I teach music on the road for three months. The two-pocket backpack with battery and Bluetooth speaker is exactly what I need. However, the bag itself is a little too small for my needs. Also, this summer, the security cable lock blew up – the guts of the lock fell out and the clip itself no longer functions – so it’s just an extra piece of hardware. The internal cable to connect the battery outlet to the usb plug in the side pocket doesn’t work consistently. It requires constant resetting. The Bluetooth speaker is very problematic. After about 15 minutes of continuous use, the Bluetooth receiver starts to drop in and out, causing blank spaces in the audio (this is disastrous for a metronome). On hot days, the dropouts happen much faster. The issues were apparent almost immediately after I received the bag last summer (2017). My first contact (last year) to the tech support at Solgaard went unanswered. This year, they replied and offered to sell me a second bag at a discount – but not rectify the problems. The product is overpriced at $300 when considered the lack of accuracy of the product.

I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars because I practically all ready owned this bag. The speaker 3 in 1 is cool and all but I already had a JBL flip 3 witch sounds slot better has more Bluetooth range and it’s splashproof, I also had a 10,000 mh battery pack so the only thing I’m getting is a solar panel and the convince of them all being in one. It’s like owning a Android or an iphone, it’s just more of a convince. The backpack itself is nice I found some of the features to be kinda gimeky but it’s a nice bag and it can hold everything I need it to. So to recap it’s a good bag if you have to money or need a bag and a battery bank and a speaker, but assuming you have some of those you don’t really need it. But again this is a review and not a sales comment

After a small delay, I received my pack. Overall it is a good and solid bag. Everything I wanted. But, after two weeks, the lock that I never used, just split apart. No big. I sent them a message and photos of the bad lock. They said that they were going to send me a replacement. Two months later, no lock… “It was handed to your postal carrier” end of subject. While I do like the bag, do not count on any customer service.Update, I purchased this bag in OCT, had to replace the lock with one of my own. Today (APR) I had a small accident and something sharp hit my Lifepack while I was getting off the train. No Cut??? It Can Be Cut!!!Lock, Customer service, Material that should not be Sliceable being easily sliced open? Stay away from this product, my $0,02.

Fantastic product, came with everything I expected and more. Honestly I have no criticisms. The price is a little high but not unreasonable by any means. Thank you so much!

Amazing! Well made and lots of storage! The speaker has good sound quality as well! Haven’t gotten a chance to really put it to the test yet but so far so good!

Like the weight and the charging capabilities. Not enough capacity to hold tech item and clothing.

I have been a big supporter of the product and brand since the days of the Kickstarter campaign. I have always loved the design but there appears to be a quality control issue. I am running into my 3 or 4th hardware issue, the zipper handles keep falling off. Meaning I have to wedge my finger in the bag and pinch the zipper just to move it every time. The number lock also just completely fell apart for the 2nd time , it’s one of the headline features and without it there’s no security. I reached out to support with a case created and they responded asking for more information and pictures which I have provided. Yet no response, I even took the time to follow up a few times on my end with no luck. I can’t recommend the product anymore if they don’t have the support to back it up especially since this is one of the more expensive options on the market. Northface and Encase have bags with the support to back it up.

I haven’t used this ever because it is VERY… VERY bulky. It had been a little while since I used it, but I like the solar panel charger that comes with it. I would not usually recommend buying this unless you like large, bulky backpacks.

I got my first one about 4 years ago and I absolutely LOVE it!Still holding up to my daily usage, everything works, EXCEPT the SolarBank, but that’s totally on me – dropped it while trying to show-off how cool it was. Can’t seem to find a new one to replace it so I opted TWICE to buy a whole new backpack since it looks like it comes with a SolarBank.NOPE, twice. If I can actually get a SolarBank with a new one of these backpacks, this is SO worth it!So many secret stash compartments, the water-resistant liner at the bottom is ultra-sleek and surprising to everyone around me everytime I oull it out, the zippers are incredibly durable, the lock is very handy with the over-sized zipper loops, comes with a bottle opener which I’ve surprisingly used more times than I thought I would, and that SOLARBANK is just plain AWESOME.Recharge as you hike or leave it in the sun on your front seat as you drive – portable power and Bluetooth speaker. Genius, really.Only reason it got 4 stars is because I got let down TWICE with no SolarBank.
