Cyberdyne demos HAL exoskeleton for lower body mobility 2

Cyberdyne, which already sounds like something out of Terminator, has been busy readying their HAL exoskeleton. First of all, if you are already called Cyberdyne wouldn’t you want to play down the whole evil robot thing and choose any other name but HAL? Well, good thing this exoskeleton won’t be enslaving humanity any time soon. I hope.

HAL has been designed to help with mobility for those suffering from reduced lower body movement. It’s neat because, unlike the full body exoskeletons, this one allows people to go about their lives without looking like a giant robot from hell. Basically, it combines functionality and aesthetics.
