It won’t be long now until wearable technology is in ever store front in the world, be they virtual or actual. As the underlying technology behind wearables continues to refine, it’s a no brainer that more people will naturally feel the desire to purchase some. It may not seem like, being as how so many products are already out, but the industry is absolutely in its infancy. However, it is showing some signs of entering its teenage years or at the very least childhood. For one, popular online retailer Amazon has been making all kinds of inroads to lay claim to wearable tech. Their latest salvo? They’e opened a dedicated wearable technology store to service residents of the UK.
Just to clear this up from the outset, this is not a brick and mortar store. It’s just another part of Amazon’s vast online presence. However, this wearables store is unique in a few ways. For one, it offers more than 100 wearables(most of which we’ve written about already.) These range from watches, glasses, armbands to t-shirts and dog collars. The store also includes all sorts of interactive help sections, which exist to teach consumers about the benefits of wearable technology. You can’t want wearable tech if you don’t understand wearable tech.
Of course, this is not a UK-specific occurrence. The company has already announced similar plans for other parts of the world, including the good ole US of A. We’ll let you know more when we know more. In the meantime, keep on wearing your tech.
