Oppo spin-off brand Realme has confirmed the Watch S will cost just £79.99 as it gets a global release.
We previously reported the watch had launched in Pakistan, but it’s launched in the UK and Europe, and we’re sure it will pop up with US resellers before long.
It’s switched from the square look on its first watch to a circular case design that’s made from an aluminium alloy.
That’s also paired up with the option of four different colored 22mm silicone bands. The whole package is slapped with an IP68 water resistant rating, which unfortunately means it’s not suitable for swimming or showering.
Front and centre is a 1.3-inch, 360 x 360 touchscreen AMOLED display. That’s combined with Corning Gorilla Glass to add an extra layer of durability. That screen uses an ambient light sensor to adjust brightness based on the lighting in your environment.
In terms of what this Android-only smartwatch can do, there’s a 3-axis accelerometer to offer fitness tracking and sleep monitoring.
There’s also sports tracking with 16 sports modes in total supported. Those include running, cycling, table tennis, basketball and indoor rowing and cycling.
There’s also an optical heart rate sensor that can continuously measure heart rate, show you your resting heart rate and measure effort levels during workouts. That sensor can also be used to take blood oxygen measurements for another glimpse into your fitness levels.
Realme also includes guided breathing exercises and drinking reminders to make sure you get that regular hydration hit during the day.
If you care a little less about tracking your health and fitness, there’s over 100 watch faces to choose from, notification support, music controls and a remote camera shutter mode.
On the battery front, you’ve got a 390mAh capacity one that Realme claims can get you up to 15 days before you need to reach for the charger.
It costs more than the original Realme Watch, which cost £50 at launch, but it’s firmly still in the budget smartwatch bracket.
