But what about the construction industry? For people who work with steel, pneumatic drills and potentially falling bricks safety is a big issue and some people are beginning to envision a future where wearable tech could keep workers safer.

Picture, if you will, a smart helmet that monitors what is going on around the wearer and then alerts them to possible dangers. Technology like that is already at work in a number of luxury automobiles, with a simple downsize it could be made in to portable safety gear.
