For someone who is unable to tie shoelaces, this gives the look of a regular shoelace, without the hassle of trying to tie shoelaces. Be sure to have your foot in the shoe BEFORE you cut off the excess of the laces – otherwise you may finish up cutting off too much… I have a couple of extra packs at home, so that we are always ready whenever we need them.

I run a lot at night, so these Reflective Lock Laces are a great addition to staying safe on the roads when it’s dark. Lock Laces are easy to install and provide extra comfort and support — there’s no way I’ll ever go back to regular shoelaces. Also, it turns any pair of shoes (running, golf, boots, etc.) into a convenient and comfortable slip-on. Lock Laces are great for running, marathons, around the house, they’re ideal for kids, and they’re water resistant. I recommend these to anybody and everybody — looking forward to buying more for my entire family!

I love Lock Laces. When I bought my original pair of Merrill shoes, they came with stretchy elastic laces. When finally had to buy a replacement pair of shoes, they came with regular laces, but I really missed the ease of slipping my shoes on and off without having to deal with the laces. These Lock Laces were the perfect replacements. I recently bought a pair of walking shoes that also had regular laces. I replaced those with elastic Lock Laces as well and they work great. I have recommended them to several friends who also love them. Why I love elastic Lock Laces:-No more potential of tripping over untied laces.-Amazing ease of putting shoes on and taking them off.-When I walk or run, the laces naturally stretch, allowing my foot to move more naturally within the shoe. This feature actually helps “break” in my shoes, as the laces no longer bind my feet within the shoe, yet keep my feet snuggly inside.-The Lock Laces have amazing reflective property (an optional feature). Where I live, there are very few street lights. These laces make my feet really glow when any light hits it, making my night runs and dog walks much more safe.-They are amazingly easy to install with two different types of “locks” that keep the laces secure. One lock is a round piece that the laces pull through and can be adjusted for shoe snugness very easily. The second is a lock that holds the loose ends together. This one you lock on yourself once you lace your shoes and cut the laces to the length you like. I personally cut them just long enough to hook under two of the criss-cross laces–it allows enough room for me to loosen the laces, if needed, but not so long that it will end up flopping around. I then tuck the lace ends under the two criss-cross parts and pretty much never touch it again.Overall, I can’t recommend these laces enough. They last and last…

I purchased these laces to try-out on a pair of tennis shoe style, hiking shoes that are comfortable & good looking enough that I sometimes wear them while traveling by plane. These laces are working out as well as I hoped. When going through security check lines at airports you often have too remove your shoes, among several other items in your pockets etc. There are always other people coming in on you while you collect your belongings and are in a hurry to make other flights. I can now slip my shoes on quickly and if I need to move along to keep things moving, I can walk over to the side with out tripping over long shoe laces to fasten them which is fast & easy. I now find myself wearing these shoes more often than I really want to because they are so quick to get into!

Great color to match my dark gray shoes. I don’t want to draw attention to the shoes and although I had both light gray laces and black ones, I hoped these would be less obvious. They match well. They are reflective although that’s not a feature I was looking for and isn’t obvious in traditional settings. Since I have some arthritis in my hands, these are not all that easy to get properly set and locked in my shoes, but once in eliminate the need for tightening and tying daily which was hard as well. One effort instead of many. Way better. I’m fond of elastic laces also because my feet tend to swell during the day and the elastic is far less restrictive and uncomfortable by day’s end.

This product works as designed in regards to quick lacing, quick removal. However, because they are elastic you have to pull them fairly tight to get your foot secured – especially for downhill hiking when you don’t want your toes sliding into the end of the shoe. The problem is that, when you have them that tight, and when not hiking downhill, or simply sitting around, they compress your foot too much and actually cut off the circulation. For this reason, I don’t really recommend them.

I have been buying a different brand of elastic lace because that was what our local running shop carried. Owing to the richer color selection from Lock Laces, I tried what I thought was an “off-brand” (I had no idea that Lock Laces has a claim to innovating these). I have noted no difference in the durability or elasticity of these laces. However, I do note one significant difference: the aglets (the plastic tube at the ends of the laces). The aglet of the Lock Laces has a narrower diameter than the other brand. Perhaps those won’t be as durable, but this makes a huge difference when threading the new laces onto your shoes, especially for Saucony Peregrine running shoes which seem to have smaller than average eyelets. I now regard Lock Laces as my go to brand for this type of lace.

These laces are awesome. They fit well and removed all the pressure on the top of my feet. I now use them with all my hiking and laced foot wear.

These laces worked great. I wonder if the reviewer that mentions how difficult part of the process was did not realize to press down on the top of the apparatus through which you thread the laces BEFORE they are cut to make the holes EASILY available. I would agree to try on the shoes before you cut. I left enough so I did not have to worry, but I can see how you might cut too much if you don’t actually have your foot in the shoe. The little clip for the open ends worked great. I would highly recommend these laces. I made unwearable children’s shoes wearable by using them, removing the original laces which were sewn in (same style of lace) and way too tight over the arch.
