Most important: it says “time-stamped recordings”. Not true! What you get is time-stamped FILES. It starts recording whenever there is enough sound in the environment (NOT necessarily voice), and stops recording when there is silence, but crucially, it doesn’t start a new file until after some fairly long delay. What this means is that you can get some very large files, with voice in there at various points, but no way to tell exactly when those events happen.I assumed when I bought this thing that “Knight Security” was “Knight Security Systems”, which is a large and very well-established company based in Austin Texas that does security for big companies. The logos of the two companies use a very similar font—coincidence? You decide. The “Knight Security” that makes this device is actually Gasknight (see gasknight.com for their Web site), a Chicago-based company that apparently started out making detectors for natural gas and propane before moving into surveillance and anti-surveillance devices.The device is ok for what is does (though honestly, who cares about 800 hours of recording when I still have to charge it every couple days?), but this misleading product information is not ok, as far as I’m concerned.

I normally don’t write reviews, but I bought this device for recording purposes and it does amazing. It picks up everything I need to hear and it sounds great. I had to call. Customer service left a message, Jim called me back the next day he went above, and beyond to help me figure out how to delete the messages from a laptop and he even sent me a email the next day making sure everything was still OK for this device being great and the customer service that we don’t have nowadays I will always buy products from this company

This product works perfect from the Magnet to the distance it reaches a conversation taking place. I sit in the back of the room when I play the recording it’s like I was in the front. The only set back is that any voice the recorder turns so music, side conversations could distort the professors lecture that’s it. I would definitely recommend this especially for the price.

This little device has great battery life! Haven’t tried to open it up on the computer yet, it kind of scares me lol but I am going to try. I love that it comes packed very secure in a box with little ear phones, and you can play it right from them. They pause, rewind and fast forward. And the sound quality is pretty darn good!

***Update*** Seller reached out to me almost immediately & apologized for my bad experience & issued me a full refund. That’s great customer service & I thank them for it! Because of that fact I would take another chance & buy from them again.Worked great the first couple of times but then the device was no longer discoverable by my laptop. When it did work voices were clear but if there’s background noise like a radio it’s going to record continuously whether or not you want it to. Like the magnet feature.
