This item would be a fun kid’s toy, but I wouldn’t use it as an alternative for a go-pro. It’s not very reliable as a quick on and go camera. To ensure that it is on, you must be looking directly at the camera. If you are the type that hates to have to spend the time editing and splicing your videos and constantly checking to make sure it is still on this is frustrating. When the light is on it gives the video a vignette (yellow outline around a circle) which obscures half of the picture. The camera will not connect to my laptop. I’ve tried multiple times with different computers (2 laptops and a desktop) instructions in hand, yet it doesn’t show up at all as an option to connect to via USB connection. When removing the micro-SD and installing directly works but the files have no thumbnail it just looks like a black box on my phone until transferred to another app. They are all labeled as MOVI0000-MOVI0001 and so on.While the micro-SD is installed into the computer there a visible video thumbnail that play well. You’ll need to memorize what the light flashes mean unless you carry the instructions along with you.Other than the yellow vignette when the light is on the videos are clear and high quality.

I received this Kltcriter Body Mounted Video Camera through the Amazon Vine program. For starters, this camera came with a 32GB MicroSD card. Most cameras do not come with a card to record on. I’m immediately impressed with this. The form factor of this camera is small. It measures roughly 1 and 13/16 inches side to side, 2 inches bottom to top of the “sling hole”, 1 and 1/8 inches deep (front to back). There are no infrared lights for night recording in the dark. You must use the 4 bright LED lights visible on the front of the camera. There are three levels of brightness. High, Medium, and Low. According to the instructions, High is 100% brightness, Medium is 50% brightness, and low is 30% brightness. That seems about right. The lights are more focused like a spot light, and would be better as a flood light to brighten up more of the area in front of the camera. But the lights are certainly bright on high. I tested the camera in my back yard at night. The lights did light up enough of the area for the camera to record decent video, and in color. I also tested recording in the day. The video quality is quite good. When changing the date/time, you plug the camera into your computer, open the .txt file, enter the year, month, day, hour (24 hour military style), minute, and seconds. Save the file, quit the file, then eject the USB camera from your computer before unplugging it. When the hour, minute and seconds approach, start the camera to record and the clock will set at that moment. The clip (which is basically the whole camera) is not so great. It’s somewhat tight at the bottom, but the gap increases towards the top. If you clip this to just a T-Shirt, the bottom will be secure, but the top may have some movement on the T-Shirt. Not to mention, the T-Shirt will move as well. You also need to be careful because the camera is not hinged. You can’t spread it apart to put over larger clothing. A better clip/hinge system would suit this camera. Also, because of the way the clip is, you can’t change the direction the camera is pointing. So you have to clip the camera in such a way so that it captures where you want to record. I tried it clipped to my T-Shirt, but not with the strap.Recording is easy. Just press the top button once and it starts recording. Press it again and it stops. Every tap you start/stop a recording, it will create a new video file. If you leave it recording, it will make 5 minute video files. It also has continuous loop recording. So as the card fills up, at a certain point, it records new video files over the oldest ones. Having a small video card means less video recordings and more overwrites. This camera can use up to 128GB MicroSD card. The negatives for me are lack of infrared and lack of mounting. But this is an inexpensive neat little camera. I like it.

For under $40 it’s hard to beat. The video quality is not bad at all. I use it to demo fly tying techniques and it is not perfect, but certainly functional. It kicks out 5 minute video files at a time, so you will definitely need a suitable video editing program to stitch longer videos together. The clip is a bit too sturdy–had a heck of a time trying to clip it to even a thin fabric. Of course that means it should stay put. It comes with an elastic hook&loop strap that you can wrap around your chest to wear it that way, but I don’t think that would be very comfortable for more than a couple minutes. You could strap it around your head or helmet, but really not sure how to get it aimed right until you view the videos. The flashlight has three modes of brightness and seems to work fine. Definitely shines a light if filming up close videos as I do. There is no tripod mount, but I found that a piece of metal bent at 90 degrees then screwed to the tripod mount you can slip that sturdy clip over the metal upright and you have a steady cam.

It advertises as a “spy” cam but until you edit that file on the sd card it is nothing of the sort with the Flashing light saying look over here. The red and blue lights are just plain obnoxious. For the video quality, I have seen cell phones do much better in 2010. It does not flex very well so it does not fit your shirt good. Needs a spring clip instead. The strap, usb cable and sd reader are nice tho. When I first got it, I charged it and played with it for about 3 minutes then left it in the box. Now 2 months later I pull it out and put it on charge which took 38 minutes. This tells me that there might be a higher parasitic drain going on that just runs it down over time.It is no go-pro but for the price it is not too bad.
