// PRODUCT SUMMARY

The Kardia Mobile EKG is a medical device designed for individuals who need to monitor their heart health. This compact device is about the size of a credit card and attaches to the back of a smartphone or tablet. Using the EKG app, users can take a 30-second electrocardiogram (ECG) reading by placing their fingers on the sensors. The Kardia Mobile EKG not only records the heart rhythm, but also detects atrial fibrillation (A-fib), a serious and often undiagnosed heart condition. The app provides immediate feedback on whether the reading is normal or if there are any signs of A-fib present. Users can then easily share their readings with a healthcare provider for further analysis. The Kardia Mobile EKG is an FDA-approved device and has been clinically validated for accuracy. Its ease of use and ability to track heart health make it a valuable tool for those living with heart disease, as well as individuals who are looking to monitor their heart health proactively.

Do i have to pay to save my ekgs?

No, you do not need to pay to save your EKGs. Now with Kardia 5.6, Our application allows local storage of your EKG history at no additional charge as part of our basic service. All you need to do is upgrade to the newest version of our application, Kardia 5.6 to take advantage of this feature. You can still upgrade to premium in order to have full cloud storage of your EKG history, but this is completely optional.

Hi do i need a subscription plan yo use kardia? also, what kind of battery does kardia use? thank you

The KardiaMobile requires a one-time purchase of $99, while the KardiaMobile 6L is a one-time purchase of $149.99 (currently available for pre-order). If you’d like to add on the optional Premium Protection Plan (which includes Device Replacement, Cloud Storage and Security, Personalized Heart Health Report and Medication Tracking), that costs $9.99/month or $99/year. If you get the KardiaBand (compatible with the Apple Watch), that requires the purchase of the Premium Membership, but Premium is optional for the KardiaMobile and the KardiaMobile 6L.

Do i need a subscription to save my ekg recordings?

No subscription is required for you to save your recordings. You may email any recording to yourself, your caregiver, or anyone you like. Our Premium service automatically stores your recordings in the cloud so there are always accessible in the app.

Does ecg show pvcs, pacs , and any other rhythms besides normal & afib? what is highest heart rate it will record?

Kardia has algorithms cleared by the FDA to tell you if your EKG is "Normal" or in "Possible AFib." As a regulated medical device, Kardia is not cleared to communicate any other rhythms, so we label all other arrhythmia's like PVCs, PACs, SVTs as "Unclassified". All rhythms below 50 bpm and above 100 bpm even if they are normal sinus rhythm are also marked unclassified. If you get an unclassified reading and are concerned, you can send your EKG to your physician to get their interpretation, or submit it for a Clinician Review directly from the app.

If you attach this to the back of your iphone, doesn't it get all scratched up? If you keep it separate, it seems easier to lose.

I have mine attached to the back of my iPhone. I use an Otter Box cover and have the holster attached to my belt. It does not get in the way and best of all, if i didn't have it attached I would probably never use it. They (AliveCor) do offer a phone case for my iPhone 6 with the pad already made for the case, but then I would have to give up my Otter Box, so I made my own adjustments to my Otter Box and attached it directly to the hard plastic case behind the rubber Otter Box skin cover. I have had it now for about six months with no issues and it never has been scratched up. (the pads you put your fingers on to read your heart rate are stainless steel).

7 Reviews for Kardia Personal EKG

    Device consistently says I am in AF. I showed my primary physician and he became excited and ordered further ekg tests in his office. He found out I was not in AF and is not a fan of Kardia as a result of this example.

    The device is GREAT for the first 30 days.. Which coincidently is also your 30 day money back period… BUT after 30 days, AliveCor will cripple your device unless you pay $10 per month extortion fee..You are not allowed to save any EKG’s to your OWN personal device.. you can only view the last one, provided you didint close it.. Once you exit out of the EKG, its gone forever… NO ability to save historñy!!!in order to save ANY EKG’s on your device you must pay AliveCor $10 per month..This is a sham! you pay $100 for a device AND you must pay $10 per month to use it.. They even block taking a screen shot of the EKG!!! Total sham..Its like saying you can only view the last picture you took with your phone, but if you want to save any pictures to your own devices that you took with that device, you need to pay Google or Apple $10 per month to save photos on your phone.. Ridiculous!!-EDIT- I wanted to edit my review and provide some good alternative product recommendations. I have been using the “SonoHealth” EKG monitor for a few months now and I find this a MUCH superior product to the Kardia..SonoHealth EKG Monitor is a standalone device that does not require a phone to record EKG’s and provides immediate results on the own screen.. It features a rechargeable battery and color screen..SonoHealth app also allows you store infinite amount of EKG recordings WITHOUT any subscription!! It also support MANY more diagnostic capabilities..In short – I would NOT recommend Kardia due its shortcomings and would instead recommend an alternative product like SonoHealth!

    The real issue is that when you download the app you have to agree to let them send you ads on their products and you have to let third parties send additional as well as allow them put put cookies on your device. They say you can opt out at any time but what they don’t tell you is that you have to go to each third party individually to opt out and some do not have an opt out feature, sound transparent? They let you do one click to accept their terms and it takes hours to undo and even then it cannot be completely undone. Now for the device. It seems to work ok but, if you happen to be one who has a low resting heart rate, below 50, then each time you record your EKG you get an unclassified and they suggest you send it to them or your physician for evaluation, at a cost of course. They seem to sell this device to give third parties a right to collect your data, to sell you their products and to sell you their subscription so you can store and compare your data which seems like that is a part of the reason you buy the product. $120 a year seems like a steep price for such a simple process. Would not recommend this device.

    I have written very few reviews for products, but I believe strongly that Kardia is an excellent tool for people with Afib. I have been using Kardia for a year and it is essential to my heart health. I can only speak to using Kardia with my Afib. For most of the year, I was in AFib and refused to get cardioconverted — Kardia confirmed my Afib consistently and even with my 82 year old mother. Then, once I was converted I saw through Kardia how my heart rhythm would change. My doctor did not think I would stay in sinus rhythm after my conversion because my heart had been out of rhythm for so long. He said I had a 40%chance that the conversion would work and keep me in rhythm. He said that over time, sinus rhythm begets sinus rhythm, and Afib begets Afib— so chances my heart would continue to beat properly we’re slim. I believe that by using kardia consistently, I have figured out several of my Afib triggers and I have avoided cardio conversion every time, as well as avoiding having an ablation. I alwAys have the Kardia unit with me and check my heart rhythm twice a day. And, if I feel “off” I check it immediately. I have learned several of my Afib triggers — such as not using my C-pap machine, what stressful situations precipitate Afib, excess sugar, too much alcohol – and specifically what alcohol, too much red meat, being dehydrated, and over eating. I also learned that drinking lots of camomile tea has seemed to help me self-convert back in rhythm. Over the past six months since my heart was converted, I have been in Afib for no more than 48 hours at a time — six or seven times. I believe that by knowing when my heart rhythm is off, I can be proactive with camomile tea and de stressing which together have gotten me back in sinus rhythm. Once, when I almost exceeded the 48 hour limit in Afib my doctor had put on me for a conversion, i sent his office an email of the Kardia reading. They were amazed at the accuracy and found it very helpful. I think it also helps when Readings are taken properly according to the directions.

    So happy to have this handy when my heart starts beating oddly. They told me to come in and get an immediate EKG when it happens, but by the time I was able to get there, the heart was beating normally again. This product provides immediate feedback so you know if you should seek treatment.

  7. denise180659

    This is a great product, it was the only way we could find out what was going wrong. My heart was beating crazy a couple of time a week and every time we went to the doctor to get checked out it wasn’t doing it. They recommended this and it was able to record it when it was happening. Thank you sooo much for making this little thing .
