I am on the phone for work all day and have 3 Plantronics Voyager 3200’s. They’ve been pretty decent, but recently they started flaking out by reducing the sound level on the mic to where I had to reboot them so others could hear me. Plantronics told me this is normal and the noise canceling mics wear out. So… here we are with a Jabra now because that is a bunch of crap.I bought a Talk 55 and this one (the 45). The 55 sucks. Don’t buy it. Whoever thought it was a good idea to make a headset that has to charge in a proprietary dock is an idiot and should be immediately fired. With the 55, you can only charge in the stupid dock, and if you forget it at home or whatever, then you cannot charge. It has better talk time than the Talk 45, and supposedly better sound quality, but that was a deal killer for me. I returned it immediately. The Talk 45 charges with a micro USB which I have everywhere. Pretty sure I could find one in the woods if I looked hard enough.Plantronics vs Talk 45. The Talk 45 has way better sound quality. I had the HD Audio turned on with the Plantronics, and the Talk 45 is still better. Battery life on the Plantronics is officially 5 hours, but I never got that. The Talk 45 seems to be accurate at their claimed 6 hours. There are no volume controls on the Talk 45, but I never used them on my Plantronics so those aren’t missed. The manual doesn’t really talk at all about the voice control. But, it seems that a single tap on the bottom button summons google assistant on my phone, and if you hold the button it summons the built-in voice menu.You don’t need the hook that goes over your ear. I ripped it off and it stays in just fine. They have some extra silicone thingies which will hold it more securely without the ear hook.Their apps… what a mess. For this headset, you need to install Jabra Service, and then Jabra Assist. And if you have certain other models, you need to install Jabra Sound+. Stupid. Jabra Assist doesn’t let you really change any settings on the headset at all like the Plantronics PLT Hub software does. The Plantronics one also lets you update software, and Assist does not. I only installed Assist for the Find my Headset feature which has a map and can play a loud tone. The tone isn’t nearly as loud as the Plantronics one which I can hear from 2 levels away in my house. And the Jabra Direct software for my Mac… turn off the notifications. It is relentless in notifying you MANY times a day if software needs updating. It might be the most annoying software I’ve ever installed. In fact, the calls I get from people trying to reach me for my expired auto warranty are LESS annoying.But, I still give this thing a 5. I haven’t taken a drive with the windows down yet to test the noise canceling. But, people I regularly talk to said that the sound quality is definitely better than my old Plantronics headsets. I’m probably going to buy another so I can always have one on the charger and one in my ear.It’s too bad they crippled the Talk 55 with that idiotic dock charger thing.

sound quality is good, battery life is ok as well. but.. there is no noise canceling at all and you can’t use it on a bicycle. it keeps disconnecting every minute. or maybe it would not disconnect but you can’t hear 50% of what is there. why? this is so weird. i liked it comparing to old plantronics headset but the disconnection makes it useless as I would have to turn it off and back on in order to connect.. not sure what to buy to replace it..

The operation was fine. Sound quality is good, microphone was good but it doesn’t perform better than the Jabra 5 which is a fifth the price. Also, the 5 can connect to my phone AND laptop simultaneously where the 45 I had to manually switch between the two which was annoying. The only advantages to the 45 was it was more comfortable and connected to music and video where the 5 didn’t but who wants their music in just one ear? Sent the 45 back and kept the 5.

I actually don’t like noise cancelling. I like to hear my surroundings a little bit. This thing is the perfect balance of quality and cost. I wanted a simple mono, in ear, non-noise cancelling earpiece that goes in my ear but doesn’t deep throat probe my ear like all the newer ones. The ones that seal off my ear make me feel imbalanced, make my voice sound weird and get that constant depressurization sound in my head and ears.This guy is perfect. It says it has sound cancelling tech but at least the rubber piece that fits in your ear doesn’t seal it off so you get a little ambient sound out of the same ear. I work outside a lot and I feel like I need to be aware of my surroundings. The sound is better than the Plantronics one that I had for years and that one was beloved. The sound of my voice for the caller is better per my wife. It is easy to use and set up out of the box. It is light enough that you do not have to use the over the ear plastic piece at all. Love it!** After having this for a couple months I’ve discovered two cons. One being that it has usb-c to charge. It’s really hard to plug in while I’m driving or in the dark. And two, I wish it had a charging cradle. I work for 14 hrs and the charge lasts 6 hrs. So I dropped it down to 4 stars.

I has an old Talk25 that broke and needed to be replaced. This Talk45 is an improvement in volume, sound quality and battery life – although that will likely change with time. The fit is about the same as my old Talk25 and I used both without the supplied ear hook. the orange gel cap seems to be snug enough to keep the ear piece in place for me while walking around. Charging for the unit is a bit of a pain – there is a tiny rubber cap fit over the USB charge connection that has to be removed and pushed out of the way every-time a charge is needed. I can see myself getting frustrated with that and ripping it off over the next few days.

it looks great, but it hurts the ear, the plastic around the ear piece is the cheapest plastic you can get. disappointed in Jabra, have a mono wired headset and I cannot believe how good it is. But the talk 45 is terrible, battery life is very low, the headset hurts the inner part of your ear, I could not wear this for any length of time. sound quality is good, people are still going to hear wind, and street noise. no case, they really cheapped out on this. my backup Marnana bt headset is better quality and fit for under 30 bucks, it includes a case, this Jabra Talk 45 doesn’t.

I have an earlier Jabra Stealth that I have been using for the last 4-5 years without any problems. I misplaced one of the ear gels and could not locate my earlier set of earhooks/gels. While the main unit is functioning perfectly, its quite useless without the eargel. Turns out that the Jabra 45 is the exact same unit, maybe with some improvements as the Jabra Stealth and at a good price point. And the accessories are exactly the same and fit my unit perfectly. So now I have a spare unit with the same level of clarity and convenience and excellent battery life. Some things are indispensible and I am happy that Jabra has continued this line. P. S. I am not a great fan of TWS headsets, which in my opinion are good for music but not so great for calls.

I bought this after having purchased the dual headsets that were supposed to be noise reducing, but couldn’t hear myself on a call. This one is similar to one I’ve had from Jabra in the past. Very comfortable and long lasting battery. The sound is great and the person on the other end says the sound is good there as well. Very happy with this headset.

I use this earpiece most days at work. It’s not the most comfortable thing to wear, but it’s far better than some of the cheaper Jabra earpieces. Sound quality can suffer at times. Haven’t had any complaints with the microphone/noise cancellation. Battery lasts multiple days provided I’m not constantly talking on the phone.Overall, it’s pretty good for the price.

Really amazing headset. I had to chose one from Sennheiser Presence, Plantronics Voager Legend, and Jabra Talk 45. At last i am here with Takk 45. Its light weight,merely 7g and small size make ear pretty comfortable even for full day wearing. Its call quality is awsome. It is loud enough even at 20% volume. Please note its frequency range is not 20Hz to 20KHz, rather it is from 400Hz to 3.4KHz. So it is primarily designed for talking not for music. Thats why it has good noise cancellation. It is really great product from jabra. Recommended. It is not water proof or dust resistant.

I’ve been using a Plantronics Bluetooth for many years until the company was sold and no longer makes the smaller Bluetooth headsets. I decided to try the Jabra Talk 45.Pros: I like the size and weight of the headset. It sits very comfortably in the ear. The audio is very good. I could be heard clearly even when whispering but there have been times where the other party has had trouble hearing me.Cons: Unlike the Plantronics headset, there is no option to turn off audio streaming so that you can still hear your text tones come through on your phone or watch videos and listen to music through your phone’s speaker. You have to turn the Bluetooth off when you’re not using it or you won’t know when text messages come through. I find this very annoying. Another issue I have is there are no buttons for adjusting the volume. You can only do this from your phone. This becomes an issue when you’ve walked far away from your phone while on a call. I find the on/off switch to be counter intuitive. Normally, sliding a switch upward would turn a device on and downward for off. It’s the opposite for this headset. The mute button’s position is a little strange for me as well. I‘ve accidentally hit the mute button so many times when answering calls.Ultimately, I’ve decided to return the device. Hopefully Jabra will address the above issues in their future headsets.
