It does work…but the headset is kinda pointless. The unit is zoomed in so far, walking around is dangerous unless you know the terrain (inside your house) doesn’t fit well and fall below your eye level, and I will be returning them.You get what you pay for

I was looking for night vision goggles of some kind to keep an eye on the back of my lot at night if the dogs started barking at something when I saw this and wondered if it would do the trick since I wanted something a bit more than binoculars and really a bit less than a telescope and this fit that gap perfectly. The use and adjustment is about as simple as can be with 1 knob but what really sells this for me is the tripod mount that came with it when used in conjunction with a tripod allows you to have a much better viewing experience at high magnification. It allows you to setup and take pictures and even videos if you wish, took me a minute to figure out but I love this thing and it opens up a world of possibilities so 5 Stars for a really useful and unique item.

Using IR removal technology, this little night vision camera offers respectable sight at night. I can change both the sensitivity and the IR. I can completely activate the IR eliminator to get a colourful screen.You can use this with or without the mount and head strap. It might even be able to be screwed into one of my tripods. By using this in conjunction with the head strap, I can avoid losing my target and aim when putting down my goggles. My hands are free.The elastic head strap and mount have three points of adjustment. It has a hook and loop connection that makes it simple to adjust while it’s on my head. It feels more comfortable on my forehead because the mount is concave rather than flat.

After having most my nvg experience with government supplied equipment, I noticed one thing immediately and I’m really hoping there’s a work around. The issue is, when I am wanting to look past some object anywhere near me (aprx 5-10′) like a tree, if it is in the field of view it’s like either the goggles auto focus for the distance of that closer item or the IR lighting is so bright even on lowest setting, you can’t see past that obstacle. I hope I just need to get more familiar and play more with the settings. As I write this I’m more confident that may be it. Otherwise, this is a neat and affordable little gadget that I am so far impressed with.I laughed when I realized I had forgotten about the manual focus, I’m so accustomed to it being automatic and customizable I felt like I was back in the 90’s with a walk-man cassette player. I’ll adjust I’m sure.Next test is to see how it does shooting, and looking through an acog and sights. I’m betting it’s easier than with the old pvs 14’s…. lol I certainly hope. Oh, last thing. I had to custom make an eye shield because the goggles don’t have one that gets close enough to my face. So the light from the goggles lights up my face, bugs can get in your eyes, etc. I prefer having a closed in sight window, and if I need to I’ll just adjust the helmet mount to be further out, for like high humidity or peripheral awareness. I used some extra scrap of soft leather, after making a paper one to use as a stencil. Worked great with a 1″wide gorilla tape piece around it on the plastic not the rubber. Nothing will stick to the rubber unless you sew it.
