I bought this device to keep safe while taking care of Covid patients. It is an extremely well built, reliable device, something to expect from Draeger, which also makes one of the best ventilators and anesthesia machines. A fully charged battery actually lasts way longer than what the manufactures claims, I took 12 hours shifts and with the battery on at the end of the day I still had enough juice in the battery. Now in my department, with a second wave on the horizon, this device will be standard. Hopefully we won’t need to use it, but if that would happen it will keep us safe while caring for the sick

Bought this back in March and have used for my entire shift every time I work in the hospital. It takes a little getting used to – finding the right fit on the headbands for the good, figuring out how to communicate above the noise of the air blowing, figuring out how best to decon after work – but it is now like a second skin. I prefer this to the CAPR setup, which causes neck pain after a few hours. I routinely wear this for 10 hours at a time. I purchased two backup setups because we clearly cannot rely on work for our safety – haven’t needed them for replacement parts, but they have come in handy for non-hospital uses when safe distancing is not possible.Far superior to wearing an N95 mask and separate eyes covering for hours at a time, and patients can read my lips if they are hard of hearing.

What’s to say about this but….wow. I this has been the best gift I’ve ever received. I have been wanting to get into alcohol ink art but the fumes make me so sick.Wearing a normal ventilator mask, I would feel very our of breath and find myself gasping for air about 20-30 minutes after having it on.But this respirator works like a dream, it’s so so comfortable, and I can relax and really get into my artwork and breathe easily.It’s easy to assemble. It’s portable. The battery life lasts abour 15-16 hours and is rechargeable.The ONLY thing I would say is that the belt for wearing it is not big enough and I need a belt extention and don’t know how to get one.I also would like the hose to be a little longer.

Very good quality gear, this pandemic protective gear is built for medical/military use. Compared to civilian grade pandemic proof gear that is built with 4 tubes(2 short, 2 long), one small electric air filter flow, and one custom made mask built by DIY people who only have $250 to spend for their own model.This is professional grade, not civilian grade, and this makes it expensive compared to cheap home made ones with products on Amazon. This product should be reserved for doctors, nurses, police, firefighters, and emergency crews only. The quality of this product makes it 100% effective protection from airborne virus outbreaks.

The apparatus for the head piece is not very secure. I wish it had better adjustability. See pic for reference. I did order the appropriate size, which is L/XL. It expands well circumferentially, NOT over the too of my head. This does not allow the hood to be pulled back off of the eyebrow area.

As one of the precious few people that have a valid medical reason/ doctors note to not wear a standard face mask I was left with few other options due to the outright hatred and discrimination experienced by myself and my family be me simply wanting to be able to breath. I refuse to hide at home to make people feel better about themselves I was left with few options. For most spending $2 on a mask is no big deal, now having someone that already has major medical problems being forced to spend in excess of $2,000.00 just to be able to leave home and try and function as a normal human being is in my opinion beyond cruel, and will be out of the reach of many.For what it is the unit is lightweight and has an excellent battery life. The concept of a PAPR or Powered Air Purifying Respirator is that you do not have to inhale with as much force it is just like wearing nothing at all. The one key thing is with the proper filters care and maintenance this WILL protect you from a whole host of pathogens as these units were designed for such work.As a former firefighter and HazMat worker this provides protection just short of a SCBA with a much longer working time when you are not dealing with a IDLH (toxic, oxygen deficient) atmosphere.It is my hope that we can put all the COVID restrictions behind us much sooner than later. The toll beyond just the lives lost directly to COVID will most likely pale in comparison to the lives lost due to suicide, alcoholism, drug use, psychiatric issues, and other medical conditions ignored as there are some groups that are even afraid to seek medical care for the many other life threatening ailments that many already suffer from.

Everything that was described for this machine is 100% accurate. I like this better than the 3M I used before because it gives me a longer cooler feeling even if I used it for longer periods. The standard face shield/protector that comes with it is more durable than the 3M machine

I purchased this unit due to my favorable experience with Drager ventilators and brand reputation, to work in the COVID unit. Due to a delay in shipping, I ended up purchasing a competitor brand with faster delivery. The air quality difference feel, is remarkable and worth the wait. I feel energized all day when I wear this device. It is heavy to carry on my waist all day so I carry it on my shoulder when I walk. I have not found a shoulder harness however like the other brand, it would be easier on my back if they had one. The battery lasts the whole shift, however after 2 months the charger quit working. I messaged the manufacturer today. There is no charger sold separately to buy a spare one, nor battery.
