Updated review: So I have been using this tracker for well over a year now, while also trying out other trackers. This is the best tracker I’ve found. I use it on my dog, who it terrified of strangers. If she were to escape the yard, she would not let anyone approach her to try to catch her. What I like about this tracker is the accuracy of the GPS. When I posted my original review it appeared to me that the tracker would never use it’s own GPS, only the phone’s GPS via bluetooth. Well this is mostly not true. Where I was getting confused was the fact that I had set a virtual fence. When the tracker is inside of that fence it doesn’t seem to give a current location very often (unless it’s connected to the phone & using the phone’s GPS). But when the tracker goes outside of the virtual fence, it does a fantastic job of using its own GPS to alert you, and then to show you right where the tracker is located. Like within feet of the exact location. I’ve opted to keep the virtual fence on. I’d rather be alerted if she leaves that preset location, vs being able to pinpoint her in our yard.So the reason for 4 stars instead of 5? Because it does require location services to be on & set to always to be able to track it. Thinking this through, it’s probably to keep the monthly subscription as low as possible. If it were using the tracker’s GPS all the time, I’m sure the monthly subscription would be much higher.I do highly recommend this tracker. I apologize to the seller for not updating my review sooner.Original review: I would recommend not buying this, if you actually want to track it when it’s outside of bluetooth range of your phone. This device uses YOUR phone’s GPS, though bluetooth, to report it’s location. If you turn off permissions to your phone location, it gives an error & shows the device is in a different country. I live in the USA, it shows it is in Africa, if MY locations services is off. It is forcing “always allow” on the phone for locations services, then it uses it instead of GPS. I don’t know if it’s because the creators wants to track us?? Or because they don’t want it to use the GPS service we are paying for. (It will give occasional locations if it is not connected to the phone’s location services, but not enough to actually find the unit.)Also, most of the time it won’t give the option for “live” tracking. It appears that both your phone and the device have to be connected through bluetooth & outside, & moving, for it to offer live tracking. If it is outside & moving, and you’re inside, it will not offer “live”. Total piece of junk.

I got this for my autistic son who tends to run off and doesn’t have much of a concept of danger. It’s more sturdy and durable than another brand we tried, but since it’s technically for dogs, it’s fairly large to wear on a necklace for a child. It’s lightweight though, so it doesn’t seem to bother him. He likes to chew on it a lot, and while I can see bite marks, it’s holding up really well so far.I like that you can see it on a map on the app and get an alert when it leaves or enters your set geofence. The only issue I have with it is that the minimum radius available means that I don’t get an alert until he’s on the next street, so if he were to run out the front door, I wouldn’t get an alert until he was much farther away than I feel comfortable with. I would like a much smaller radius so I can be alerted right when he leaves the house, that way if he manages to get out when I’m in another room, I can know immediately for safety reasons.

I purchased this to keep track of my dog’s whereabouts during the day while I was out of town to make sure she was staying within her boundaries. It worked fantastic! The location accuracy was very accurate ! She went to the neighbors one time and I immediately got a notification from the app. My only complaint is the tracker itself had to be tied onto her collar because even with the adapters, my dog’s collar has the buckle snap and it could not be slid onto her collar ! The $19.95 monthly subscription was a little high, but it is worth it for the accuracy and peace of mind that it gave me!!

I have 3 dogs ranging from 50 to 70 lbs. Living in the country, on 70 acres, my dogs go outside unattended several times a day. For the most part, they stay close to home. However, they may leave the area around my home, at times. One of my dogs was injured a couple months ago, prompting me to look into the ability to track her location. The Cube GPS has worked pretty well to accomplish this! It does take some time to understand the Cube’s capabilities and functions. The virtual fence is a little larger than I’d prefer at 200m, but that’s a minor issue. There is a feature to “ring” the Cube. This makes a beeping sound come from the collar. Unfortunately, this only works when within Bluetooth range. It would be helpful to have the sound work at all times as my dogs have been trained to return (with other training collars) when they hear a “beep” from their collars. The monthly fees of $19.95 (or yearly for $200) does add up when you have 3 pets to track. So far, I’ve only used one Cube GPS for one month, to trial the device. I am satisfied with the device and am planning on using Cube GPS with my other two dogs in the next couple of days. Overall, I’m happy with using the Cube GPS with my dog.

Seems pretty accurate so far. Had it in my car for a week and it’s down to 75% charge so it seems to last a month on one charge with it reporting it’s location every 10 minutes. Bought the cable to wire it to my motorcycle which is being shipped overseas. Will report back if it lasts the full move. If it lasts, I’ll bump up to 5 stars.Would have liked an even lower setting where it pings daily or even hourly so the battery would last even longer on it’s own.

Cube gps worked as expected, but the app repeatedly pop-ups demands for permissions. I’m tracking a box 5 miles away. That’s out of bluetooth range. Stop saying you need Bluetooth. Same complaint for “active in background.” Is that feature required to have a log of locations? Cool, say that. If I say “I don’t care because I just want to be able to check where it is when I feel like opening the app,” then I’ve agreed to reduced functionality. It is aggressive and patronizing to make me click through the same screen 3 times every time I am in Settings. But the device works great.
