I tried two different sizes and with the same resuls: those boots kept hurting the heel on my feet. I tried with only one sock then I used two socks, I even used insoles and with the same results. I returned boots! Also, it wouldn’t keep my feet warm on a 15º F. I must say that besides the boots hurting my heels overall were very comfortable and the sole has a good grip on around ice and snow. Very difficult to lace up.

They are a bit snug but that most likely is my fault for not getting them in wide. They are very comfy even with being snug. Very light, soft interior. I have walked in the rain in them and my feet stayed dry. Id buy them again.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I spent a ton of time researching what to buy before my trip to Lake Tahoe. I assume anyone looking for good snow boots is doing the same thing as me, reading reviews etc.First of all, I wear a size 11, so I ordered size 11, PERFECT FIT. I ignored all comments on sizing, I suggest always going with your normal size, IMO.These boots kept my feet 100% dry, and I was standing in snow all the way to the top of the boots. These are also the most comfortable snow boots I have ever worn, they fit perfect. They are light weight, and the look great.Personally, I would ignore any negative emails on these boots. I have no idea why anyone would not like these. Some people say they do not like that its loop holes all the way, the prior versions had hooks for the few top laces. I prefer loops all the way to the top, it takes maybe 1 extra second to loosen the laces, and remove the boots, vs the hooks that take .5 seconds. Not sure why people care about 1 second, LOL. Its a more solid lading with loop holes to the top, and that’s what you want in a snow boot.5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!!!

After extensive research I purchased these boots for a snowshoeing trip in Northern Vermont. I normally wear a size 10 but purchased the 10.5 to allow for thermal socks. The 10.5 fit perfectly. Weather ranged from single digits to high 20s with periods of trudging through deep snow for 2-4 hours at a time (with gaiters). The boots were thermally perfect…never too hot and certainly never cold. Physically…again, very comfortable never stressing arches, toes or ankles. They appear to be high quality I expect them to last for many years.

I got these boots as a gift. Size 11, which is my normal size. To start, they fit perfect, however I planned on returning them because I already own a really nice pair of Merrell boots (my merrells do have a lower ankle though) . These sat in the box for a few weeks until one day the snow was higher than usual and I figured I would give these a try and just hold them for next year if I didn’t wanna beat them up too much this season. Since putting these boots on my merrells have sat dormant in my house. Half the time I just slide these on loosely laced and go out to do whatever I have to in the snow….shovel, snow blow, etc. These boots are warm, comfortable, and thus far completely waterproof (without any additional spray). I would highly recommend these. Great support and great sole. Overall I’m happy I got these as a gift even if I have another pair of great boots.

I did buy these boots when they were discounted. I don’t know if I would have paid full price. I was looking for a new pair of winter boots with specific features. They needed to be taller, to prevent snow from getting inside the boot. They needed to have a tread (outsole?) that was designed for ice and snow. Obviously, they needed to be warm. And, they needed to be obscure. Meaning, I could wear them to work without attracting attention to them.I ordered them in my normal size. When I first put them on, I thought they were going to be too small. I wore them around the house for an evening, and they do require some “breaking in”. Another reviewer mentioned that they rubbed or squeezed their toes. I felt the same sensation initially, but the front of the boot became more flexible. I wore them to work with a heavier pair of socks. Again, I thought the boots were too small. Throughout the course of the day, I found that they began to relax, and felt more comfortable. Then, I noticed how the Michelin-made tread had a spring or bounce to them, which I really enjoyed. The tread did well in the ice and snow. When I took them off, I could tell that my feet had been sweating. They are that warm. Overall, buy them in your regular size, and don’t worry about wearing heavy socks. You won’t need them. Expect to have a break-in period, as the inner liner starts to conform to your feet. In the end, these boots are exactly what I was looking for.

I used this boots in my crazy expedition in Siberia ,one week ago.I use it everyday with one pair of warm socks .I was very afraid before, because i get a bad experience in Reykjavik ( -3°C) without proper socks. staying in one place for more than 30 minutes; With the right socks in Siberia, i never had any problem in temperature -10 -20 °C . And the best thing…i was able to run on ice,i played football and i was the fastest in the ice;and do u know why because of the Michelin WINTER COMPOUND anti-slip rubber.Everybody was surprised about that and i show them why! Is crazy but i was the only one, with safest condition walking on Baikal frozen lake, in colder Siberia.I used spike too on boots for ice-snow because if snow filled the Michelin rubber was trouble. Definitely I recommend to everybody and definitely i will order one more in future, if this will get broken.I have to test it in more endurance for long period of time.In Siberia i used on all fields (sand, rock, water, wood) and most of time on ice, crossing frozen Baikal lake.I was lucky and proud because i ordered from amazon (nobody in Europe had that size 41.5) , arrived in 3 days and able to finish my trip to Siberia in excellent condition. Thanks Amazon and thanks Columbia for your good job building this great boots !

Absolutely not waterproof! I’m a well driller and need waterproof boots and these are advertised as such. As soon as water even touches the tongue of the boot it soaks it up like a sponge and your feet are wet for the rest of the day. After two days I tossed them and bought something different.
