Having read what people had said about these coming up a little small, I ordered a UK 10.5 instead of my usual 10. Even with boot socks they were just a little on the large side so if ordering again I’d go for my usual size. Given how well-made these are, I don’t think I’ll need to order another pair for a long time though. These are really warn – wore them on Svalbard in the Arctic Circle where it was -7C and my feet were toasty warm and dry.I’d had some Columbia boots 10+ years ago which I found uncomfortable, rubbing the back of my leg as I walked, but depsite these being quick tall, they don’t rub in that way.Really sturdy and well-constructed. They’re quick to put on, lace up easily and the laces don’t work loose, unlike a lot of other boots I’ve had.

These are very poorly made, so disappointed. My husband bought a pair of Columbia boots several years ago that held up very well, so we decided to get another pair for him this year. We’ve had them for 2 weeks, and he has probably worn them 5 times, and the inside has already ripped. I expected much better quality from a brand like Columbia, won’t order them again. I took a picture of the inside but can’t figure out how to include it in this review, but the inside seam has come apart. Edit to add the photo and explain, the piece on the back inside is what came apart, after very little wear, which I anticipate will further deteriorate very quickly with continued wear.

Great boots! I’m a USPS letter carrier who does most to all of my routes on foot. Just bought these yesterday and they’re great. Been walking in snow all day today and my feet were dry and comfortable. There’s no breaking in period, they’re already comfy and my feet are picky too so that’s nice. Great tread too. Walked on lots of ice today too and they kept me as stable as any boot I’ve owned.

This is my second pair of Columbia Men’s Bugaboot… My first pair lasted me for about 2 years (wearing almost every day in the winter in Alaska – approximatively one year of total wear every day) and I was very happy with the brand. Well unfortunately I cant say the same thing about this second pair that lasted only about 3 month. The laces lasted only about 2 month and the boots are already ruined.

I wouldve given 5 stars if it was just about the looks. I had to compare this with bugaboot ii and made me return this cause of the comfort level. I don’t know about what this would do in winter but both says -25 so would it matter one has Omni heat and the other doesn’t. The problem with this was lack of cushioning or comfort the ii had. This looked good and solid but after wearing them for almost an hour had to go with ii. And that might also explain the pricing ( ii was more than iii at the time of purchase).

Update: 12/2017 – I completely jinxed myself with the 5-star review in November. A few days after that I encountered the same issues other customers had. The inner Omni-Heat lining started tearing away each time you put your foot in. Poor stitching and gluing pulls the fabric away where your heels slides. Really stinks that this happened RIGHT at the 12 month mark, which happens to be Columbia’s warranty on this boot. I’ll contact them for support and provide an update on the process. This does appear to be a known issue and a manufacturing defect.Purchased these in Nov 2016 to replace winter boots that weren’t cutting it anymore. Out of the box I was blown away by how light they are. These felt comparable in weight to my Brooks running shoes. I wear a size 13 and oftentimes boots are much heavier than smaller sizes.I was pleased with the weight, but figured there must be a trade off with material quality and warmth. NOPE! These were perfectly comfortable right out of the box (with tall socks to match boot height) and very warm but without sweating. I wear these to shovel the driveway, sledding with the kids, sit at outdoor college football games and hike the woods. I’ve had zero issues with arch support, blisters, cold…..nada!I took them out of the closet this year and was excited to see them. Yeah, odd thing to get excited about, but they rock and prompted me to write the review. Worth every penny.

The boot fits great, I feel invincible from about the ankle down. I put them on with my robe when they arrived in the mail and I stood in a snowbank with an outside temp of roughly ~20 degrees (F). I stood there for about 10-15 minutes, and even with normal socks my feet felt warm. I was drinking at the time, hence the robe, but still, I think my feet would have been warm sober, too.

I got these boots before winter (August, 2017). We live in Eastern Idaho and get some pretty cold and snowy winters. I was looking for a pair of boots that could fit the following criteria:Comfortable: I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear and these fit perfectly and have room for thicker socks. I have now used them to shovel snow, snow blow, and build snowmen with the family. The are extremely comfortable and didn’t require much break-in for my feet. They were a little stiff at first, but I am very comfortable in them.Warm: My feet are usually cold, but these boots have managed to keep my feet warm in temperatures lower than 20 degrees. I haven’t had a chance to use them in sub-zero temperatures, but with what I have experienced so far, they should be nice an warm. I have walked through lots of snow and ice in these and they were nice and toasty.Waterproof: I have used them for snow blowing and snow shoveling for hours and I haven’t had any issues with water entering the shoe.Overall, I love these boots. They are a nice fit for my feet and provide much needed warmth and comfort while I work outdoors in the winter.UPDATE (August, 28, 2018): I used these boots through this last winter. We had days that were well below zero (f) and I wore these boots to shovel snow, clear ice, snow blow, and walk around in the snow and ice. I am happy to report that these boots kept my feet very warm and dry. They held up nicely and should last several more seasons.
