For years, I have used an Osprey backpack as a companion piece to my Away carryon bag for all my travels. It accommodated everything I like to bring on trips (Bose headphones, iPad, binoculars, etc.) As I have gotten a bit older (in my late 60’s now), and after shoulder surgery, I made the decision to retire that bag for something smaller. I looked at so many products here on Amazon, read a gazillion reviews, and decided to give this Travelon Classic backpack a try for a 10-day trip to Italy. I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS BAG. It held everything I needed and more! I just unpacked it after returning home and here is a list of everything I had in the bag: my iPad Pro 11, a normal size pair of binoculars, a full size water bottle, trip information, charging cords galore along with a 3x2X2″ Smart adaptor for European outlets, my travel/passport wallet, a thick pack of disinfecting wipes, two pairs of glasses, my Bose headphones (full size, over the ear ones), compression socks, a United amenities bag, and several souvenirs (ceramics, wrapped in a lot of bubble wrap). I could have put more inside this bag if I had needed to! And for those of you who like to travel carry-on only, this bag easily fit within the size specs imposed by some of the European airlines. I have officially retired my Osprey and am now officially on board the TravelOn bandwagon! (PS, I bought the navy blue color–it held up beautifully, looks as good as it did when I left, and this bag went everywhere with me on my 10 day trip.)

I love this backpack, it fits a lot more than you would think by just looking at it. It is comfortable to wear and I love that the zippers clip in place. Two things could make this backpack perfect:1) if it were waterproof and seam sealed. It’s definitely not waterproof and the interior contents will get wet in the rain. I will be coating mine myself to resolve this issue.2) if it had a chest strap. The backpack feels less secure without it – especially when worn over a winter coat.Otherwise this is a great mid-size travel backpack!

I love this backpack! I used it for traveling throughout Europe for several weeks this summer. I was able to lock all of the zippers easily. It fit my yeti waterbottle in the side pocket with no problems. I traveled with my 3 kids and husband, so this was always full of snacks and other items.

It’s a great size for travel. I use this as my purse while traveling at the airport. Great space for my wallet and ID as well as most everything else. Easy to pull out tablets at TSA.

The ad and the tag inside this backpack say locking straps but they do not lock! The zippers lock which is good but I feel the description was deceptive

I have a Travelon crossbody but wanted a backpack as well. This one fits the bill as far as size and zipper closures. Roomy but small enough for under the plane seat.
