    will include hardness?

Yes, all transceivers come with a harness. This is generally more secure than putting it in your pocket, but you can use it either way.

What is its country of origin?

I don't remember, however they are one of the better ones on the market in my opinion.

Does the tracker 2 and tracker 3 require that the second avalanche beacon device also be a tracker 2 or tracker 3, or can it be another mfr.'s device.

All avalanche beacons work together on the same frequency, regardless of brand/model.

How is the bca tracker 3 better than bca tracker 2 especially about $215 more? the description only seems slightly better.

I haven't used the Tracker 2, I think it's the multiple antennas in the 3 that makes it better. That and for multiple burials/signals you can isolate one signal over the other. The digital distance read out is super helpful and the audible beeps as you near your target increase in frequency which helps locate the burial even faster. Hope this helps. Which ever one you go with practice, practice, practice.

How is the bca tracker 3 better than bca tracker 2 especially about $215 more? the description only seems slightly better.

smaller. multiple search . 3 antennas. makes a beeping sound if left on too long.

this product may just save my life someday and others either while out on the snowmobile or in the backcountry looking for that perfect downhill run. Impressed with additional features from my original bca tracker. keep up the great work.

    2. Benjean Moses

Thanks for the Avalanche Beacon. Now I need to learn how to use it before some one is in an avalanche. I think it will be great from reading the instructions.

    3. Nathan M.

Easy to use. Light weight. I didn’t even realize I was wearing it. When your on transmit the LED light is bright to see in daylight. And easy to follow directional symbols.

    4. Rita Martin

Great size and easy to use. I felt a lot safer with it out west. I used the strap that it came with no discomfort at all. Nice Job Backcountry !

    5. Brad

Quality beacon that l use when snowmobiling in the mountains that l hope l never truly need to use. Nice size and easy to use.

    6. Michele Miska

The signal suppression on the 3 works much better than the 2.

    7. Jason L.

Great for mountain sledding and back country activities.

    8. Bradley Conner

Sleek device, great harness, works well. Highly recommend.

    9. xtrm_rdr

The product is great and would highly recommend it! It is very user friendly and most importantly small. Does what is it says and does it well!Definitely worth the extra cost for the extra features and size. I would like to give a five star review on the product but I received it one day later of the guaranteed delivery date making a huge hassle to get it to me as I was travelling towards the Alps. On top of that the item was not new, the packaging definitely showed some wear and the top shiny BCA Tracker 3 “screen” was scratched substantially. I believe it was a show model, definitely not fair as it was advertised as a brand new product! So two stars for that!

    10. Speedy Reader

I bought this for my daughter prior to a skiing holiday – 2019 already having demonstrated the horrors of several large avalanches. My son recommended the brand as he has his Tracker for years and it has always been 100% reliable.

After experiencing some interference issues with a different transceiver, I decided to try some other models. I picked the Tracker 3 first because this is the model that the guide was using on my last trip.Unlike the previous reviewer mine came brand new and fully sealed. However, even brand new the front of the case shows fine scratching. This is purely cosmetic, and if you are worried about scratches, maybe back country skiing isn’t for you. The transceiver came with batteries, which is fine for testing, but I will be replacing them when used for real, as I don’t have any idea how old they are.The transceiver came with an old version of the software, so I upgraded it to the latest V3.3 version. The basic process is simple, but it took me 2 different laptops, and 3 different USB cables to find a combination that would work successfully.Testing so far has proved to be successful with one exception where the Tracker seemed to get stuck on 0.0 metres when performing bracketing during the fine search. However, I wasn’t able to reproduce this event, so it might have been external interference.

As easy to use as tracker 2 but much more compact

    13. Laci S.

Great product, very light when wearing and easy to use.
