I’ve never used or bought a back support belt before. I had no idea which one to buy. I looked through many reviews on Amazon before deciding upon this one and I’m happy with my purchase.I like it for these reasons:1. It is adjustable and fits me very well. I really like that there is a double layer of adjustable straps, that really helps me find the fit that feels “just right” for me. I ordered a size small and it’s perfect for me. I’m 5’7″, 133 pounds, with a 31″ waist. I included pictures because I always find them helpful and to show that the belt isn’t noticeable under clothing, it’s even fine under the t-shirt (which is fitted). The dress I’m wearing in the picture is also a small and the belt fit fine underneath. I had thought about buying the Mueller 255 belt because it was a little cheaper but I felt concerned that I might not get as accurate of a fit since the waist range was so much larger. The reviews were also slightly less positive. I’m glad I went with this one instead.2. The adjustable lumbar pad really makes a difference for me. I tried the belt on without it and my back pain was still noticeable. But with the lumbar pad and adjusting the belt, my back feels so much better! The relief from the pain is well worth the purchase.3. The belt is well made and very supportive. The structure is just firm enough to offer strong core support without being restrictive. My plan is to wear this belt occasionally, while walking and driving. I tend to have the most problems while driving. I wore it while on a long walk today and it did get warm/a little sweaty. Not super uncomfortable or surprising considering the weather and distance, but something that may be a bigger issue for some. It does not bother me much. The support is more important to me. Another consideration is that it’s possible to move and bend with the brace (especially depending upon how tight you adjust it), but if that’s the main purpose there might be other options that are more flexible (but may offer less support, I’m not sure).Other items from Amazon that I bought to help my back:* Cushion supports for my car seat (which have helped a lot). One is a wedge shaped cushion to sit on (my seat is slanted oddly and I wanted it to be more even so the wedge cushion made by Clever Yellow works well, and is available on Amazon). The other is a cushion to support my lumbar region, also available on Amazon: “Memory Foam Back Support Cushion – Designed for Back Pain Relief – Lumbar Pillow With Premium Adjustable Strap – Hypoallergenic Ventilative Mesh – Alleviates Lower Back Pain made by Xtreme Comforts.” I liked it because it has a convex (rather than concave) shape… most lumbar support cushions seem to be concave and that tends to irritate my back. It was one of the only convex cushions and I love it! It’s taller than most, very thick, has a removable cover, and really supports the length of my back. It does push me forward a bit, which I like in my car (I just put my seat back), but that may not be comfortable on a traditional, rolling office chair. I’m going to review both of the cushions on their pages as well. I tried another lumbar cushion by NurtureSoft but it was more concave shaped than I thought it would be and didn’t work for me.* The book Freedom from Pain by Peter Levine. I can’t write much about this one yet, as I just received it today, but I’m looking forward to reading it. I’ve been doing Trauma/Tension Release Exercises (TRE) multiple times a day and they have really really helped me (along with gradually increasing the distance of my walks), so I’m optimistic about learning about other exercises in the book!* Also planning on buying insoles and new shoes, as well as do Network Spinal Analysis at the chiropractor (a very gentle approach … traditional chiropractor tends to trigger my body and make the bracing worse). I’m hoping the chiropractor might be able to suggest insoles/shoes and posture-correction apparel as well.A month ago I was unable to move because of my back pain. It’s gotten much better and I have Faith it will continue to do so! Grateful for these supportive products to help me function better along the way!! If you’re reading this and in pain you’re in my heart and prayers. Hope you feel better soon!!! 🙂

Over the years I’ve purchased many back supports… This is my favourite by far…. It supports all the right places superbly and holds firm

This belt is awesome! Where I work, I lift and twist over 50lbs of dead weight from shoulder height to the floor, from the floor to waist height, over and over again for 8 hours. I’m 59 years old and my back isn’t what it use to be. I tend to get a pinched nerve in my lower back. I learned about these support belts and tried one sold by my local big chain store. It was medium support and worked well for 9 months but eventually the Velcro wore out. When purchasing a replacement I decided I wanted more support. You can find everything on Amazon so I shopped here this time for the variety in choices. This belt is awesome. For the same price. It’s the perfect width. The Velcro is wide and I expect will last longer than the last one. What’s different is the straps on the sides. You put it on and then easily tighten it nicely with the side straps. They’re Velcro too. Then there’s the removable lumbar support (I’m leaving mine in because that’s where my back problem is). This is slim, not bulky or cumbersome at all. I forget I’m wearing it. The last time I pinched my sciatica nerve I was just standing, bent over a table. I went to an emergent care and all they did was give me a steroid. So I went to work to pick this up and wore it in my days off as well as at work. It greatly relieved the pain immediately and sped up the healing process. What should have taken weeks to heal took only a few days, and it’s due to this belt. So, support is awesome, comfort is awesome, flexibility is awesome, it is a quality product meant to last a long time. It’s well worth the money! Glad I purchased this one. I’m extremely happy with it.

Works great but Large needs more tightening ability! But reduceces ciatitic nerve pain, but hip pain increases. May just need mor time to figure out how to adjust.

Nice quality and fits really well.

it works well to restrict my spouses back from over extending itself but he can’t wear it sitting down, he takes it off when we sits down and puts it back on when standing or walking. kind of a hassle but it definitely helps support his back when doing big things

First day using the brace and it was like magic, barely any back pain. The day before I was in tears with pain and no I only just have a minor ache. I lift and move heavy items for about 8+ hours a day so this brace was much needed. My only complaint is that that brace completely rubbed a part of my skin off raw and it hurts like a mofo, but at least I can walk.

Fantastic back brace, helps loads when my sciatica is acting up and I have to lift my heavy toddler!

First of all, thank goodness I had this back support device. It did help! I was experiencing back spasms and could barely walk, and this support did help. I am a big girl, and it is hard to find one to fit and I had plenty of band around body and securing it.The only thing that would have made this a little better is that if the band around the body was wider. It fit around my body, but the length (waist hip area) up and down was longer I would have loved it. But all in all, I was so happy to find something that would help with my back pain.

I looked through pages of these support systems and I am so glad that I ordered this one. It not only arrived the next day (I don’t have prime either). Whoever sends these out understands what back pain is! Adjusts a couple of different ways and feels so good on my back. I ordered the small according to the chart and it is true to size. Doesn’t seem to be bulky and I like the fact that you can move the velcro diamond lumbar support piece around to apply more pressure on a particular area of your lower back. Can’t wait to wear it for gardening and planting my flower bed this Spring.

Having unsuccessfully tried an all singing and dancing back brace, we then tried a more simple version. I have to say that this one was much better. The most important thing for me was that the actual back support was a good 5cm shorter. This means that the tension point (the area of the brace that is directly opposite the front clasp) could be positioned more accurately on the lumbar region of my back. The belt is well made, using what look like good materials, that are quite soft in use. It is a hard stretch, but I also recommend this as it does provide good lower back support. The clasp on the front is easy to do up and the belt sits comfortably when in use.It worked for me, so overall, highly recommended

I have a herniated disc and I’ve tried several back braces, and that little pad they provide is awesome. It’s the difference maker. If I had one recommendation, it would be to have the whole band elastic.

This was bought for my wife who is recovering from a nasty fall. She is delighted with it and her recovery progress has been, it appears, more rapid.

Pretty comfortable and offers good support for your lower back. Has two velcro straps that you can adjust- one for around your waist and one to adjust the tightness of the belt. It seems to provide pretty good support or at the very least makes sure that I am using correct posture when sitting/standing.

This brace is exactly as it is pictured. The material feels and looks to be everything they mentioned. I haven’t worn it yet. I purchased it to use when I work in my yard. I’ll come back later with an update.
