3.5 stars. There are many things to love about this watch, but also some really disappointing things. Before I outline the pros/cons I wanted to clear up some confusion there seems to be regarding the watch’s ability to audibly respond. This watch does not have a speaker, it has a microphone. The following is verbatim from the Falster 2 FAQ — Your smartwatch does not have a speaker, but it is equipped with a microphone. This means that you can ask questions or make commands into the microphone and your watch will provide read outs of responses, but cannot audibly answer your requests —~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Pros—It is really a good looking watch, especially the black, and is very lightweight and comfortable on the wrist.—The silicone band is flexible easy to clean…a good choice for working out.—It is fairly user friendly (if you already have experience with smartwatches that is) with the basic things like customizing the face with preferred options of what they call data points (it gives you three changeable ones) like weather, battery %, steps, etc. If this is your first smartwatch you should read through the Falster 2 FAQ. I could not find it on the Skagen site, only generic info not model specific. Strangely a FAQ came up in a google search which has a Skagen url, I will include it here but it may be blocked out as Amazon doesn’t allow outside links in reviews.—It has an ‘on command’ heart rate monitor which isn’t as seamless as compared to a fitness watch but is a big plus to have this available. It does automatically track during workout sessions, and your stats will be available in the workout history in the Google Fit app.—I like the way it handles texts and email, you can quickly respond immediately using the microphone. When an incoming call comes up you can choose a quick message to text from your watch if you’re not able to answer your phone. You can even bring up a keyboard which may be impossible to use with larger fingers but it works well with a stylus.—Untethered GPS…a big plus.Major cons—Battery is horrible; it does not last anywhere near 24hours. Yesterday at 5pm I put it on fully charged, wore it only five hours, and this morning before noon it is already down to 10% after just sitting there not being worn. While I had it on for the five hours I did not check messages or use any functions other than checking the time and I read my pulse a couple of times. GPS is turned off. This is unacceptable. The battery fully charges in only one hour, but it is still a pain, you have to make sure you have the charger with you at all times if you want to wear the watch all day and are out. An hour workout on the interval setting used 25% of the battery.—Music storage. It is blatantly misleading to state that this watch stores and plays music. What they really mean is if you have a paid music subscription to Spotify, Google music, etc. you can play your saved music from your account. We do happen to have a paid subscription to Spotify and have downloaded music available to play offline and it WOULD NOT WORK! I have the app permissions activated, I spent an hour with Spotify support chat and they said I have the correct version of the Spotify app on the watch and when opening it (you have to make sure the app is closed on your phone) you are supposed to get a log-in screen, but the only choice that comes up is to pair with a phone. It does that with no problem and you can control the music playing on your phone using the watch’s music controls, but it is supposed to play music independently of your phone. Spotify support said if the watch is a stand-alone device, the login option should come up. So, they don’t know how to help me. Now I have to try to further investigate this with Skagen, but I’m fed up at this point. If anyone reading this has gotten this to work with Spotify or maybe with Google music, please post a comment.—Slow response on functions – there is a slight delay when using many of the controls. This would not be much of a problem except that the screen quickly blacks out before you have a chance to do anything. You can’t extend the screen timeout, can only choose the always on setting, which is a good idea to have on at least when initially setting everything up, but it does suck up more battery of course.—Not too impressed with the Wear OS app.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I really like the idea of this watch, a smart watch with fitness watch features, but it needs improvement, especially the battery. I have a Fitbit Versa, which is the reverse, a fitness watch with smart watch features, and not only is it much less expensive than this watch, it has many of the same functions (not the standalone GPS though), it actually does STORE music, and the battery lasts three days or more, even when wearing it all day and all night.A tip on the vibration, which is annoying to me, but may be useful to those who need to turn off their ringtone and/or vibration on their phone but still need to know if a call is coming through without disturbing others. I don’t have a need for that so just want to turn off all vibration, but there is no setting to turn it off, and supposedly if you don’t have vibration active on your phone, which I don’t, the watch won’t vibrate. Not true, it still vibrates for call, texts and email. So the only way to turn it off completely is by selecting Do Not Disturb which is easily accessible by swiping down from the top.

Love the watch and I can’t find anything it doesn’t do that I wanted it for. Compatibility and set up was crazy simple, and I love the overall size of the watch and the screen is crystal clear. Or at least it was – I paid extra for the silver magnetic strap. What a waste of money and totally worthless. I had it two days, and on the third day I was taking my jacket off, and the watch came with it, it flew across the room and cracked and chipped the edge of the screen. Just stay away from the magnetic strap and this should be a great watch.

This watch is very bad, too sluggish to do anything with. I have constant crashes and have had to reset to factory defaults 6+ times already. Google Play music refuses to download ANY playlist I have, it tries (takes 5+minutes just to download a single song). There is a HUGE amount of lag when you press and the watch actually does something. Just to go jog it takes minutes to just pair the watch with my headphones and open my playlist. Minutes and then 30 seconds into the run it refuses to play ANY song. Just stops playing and Google play music just spins. Skagen also has a pointless animation on their default watch faces now, so when you try to look at the time there is now a delay and you have to watch an animation EVERY TIME. This is infuriating, between Skagen and Wear OS, please don’t waste your money. Not sure if mine is just defective, but this isn’t my first android smart watch.UPDATE: The back just came off this morning when I was taking it off the charger. This is clearly a manufacturing issue on Skagen’s side of things. I hope that they repair this as its not even 60 days old yet. This watch clearly is not of good quality and will NOT last long at all.UPDATE: the back came off again and after sending it off and having it back for 3 days it’s already broken again. Watch won’t even turn On, this is the biggest piece of trash I have ever wanted money on. I have wanted more time sending this off the. It’s actually worth. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS WATCH!!!! BE AWARE, GO WITH ANOTHER BRAND, ANY OTHER BRANDUPDATE: got the watch back and the back yet again, fell off. I have contacted Fossil and instead of replacing it again they are giving me a gift certificate for the price so I can buy a different watch. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!

    works well

The back of the watch literally fell off while walking. It’s not just fragile, it is weak. I’ve never had a watch so easy to damage.

  6. msss_11

After 1 week of use it is less than expected: 1- battery is horrible as it barely last for 12 hours 2- the mesh strap is small, barely fit around my arm.
