I was looking for a comfortable headband to listen to audiobooks and meditations at night to help with my anxiety. Since I almost exclusively sleep on my side, I wanted something comfortable.PROSVery comfortable sleeping on my side. Yes, I can feel the speaker a bit, but it feels soft, not hard, with no sharp points. Unless you are Princess & the Pea type (and no judgements if you are), the speakers are very comfortable to sleep on.The sound quality is better than I expected. Obviously, being inside the headband, it is slightly better when laying on my side and the speaker is pressed into my ear. But even when laying on my back, it’s still good. The fabric is really soft and comfortable. It didn’t make me hot, nor were there any places where it was itchy or poked me.My kid wanted one too. She has helix piercings and this was totally comfortable over those, as well. The speakers do move around a bit, but it is very easy to reposition them, and they don’t seem to move much within the headband while I sleep. I never have to move them around much, so I cannot say if it is because I am just lucky to have the right sized head for their positioning. YMMVCONSThe photo makes it look like the headband has some form to it and will retain that shape. It does not. It is very soft and scrunches up easily. As a result, it is almost never in the right position when I wake up.The elastic is very loose, which does increase comfort, but decreases it’s ability to stay on.It operates differently than every other bluetooth speaker device I own: * All of my other bluetooth “speakers” (including headphones and earbuds) have some sort of volume memory with my device. So when I connect them, the volume level resets to where it was the last time I used the device. Not this one. It resets to the highest volume level every time, which is both shocking and painful if you don’t remember to turn it down before you start playing your music/audiobook. * All of my other bluetooth “speakers” allow me more gradients in volume control, using both the device volume and the speaker volume, with the device having fewer gradients and the speaker having more. The best analogy I can think of is a treadmill. Imagine a treadmill where you can ONLY go 1 mph, 2 mph, 3mph, etc. So if 1 mph is too slow and 2 mph is too fast, you have no other options. That is how my devices usually work. My other bluetooth “speakers” give me options between 1 and 2, so I can adjust the sound levels to best fit my needs without changing the volume level of the device. This headband does not allow that. You get 1 or 2, or in the case of volume for sleeping, 0 (no volume) or 1, which is a bit too loud for what I want when I sleep. So not only is it a bit harder to be lulled into sleep, I also worry about the potential impact on our hearing (feel like it would have similar risks to ear buds) * I never use the track and volume buttons on the band. As stated above, it is no different that the volume level on my device, and it is easier to adjust the volume on my device. The long-press for volume is hard to get just right. Too short and you change your track. Too long and you are either blasting your ears or end up muting the sound. * No auto shut off. HOW DID I MISS THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION?? This means I have to recharge it at least every night or two, which isn’t great. It’s too late to return and I don’t have the energy to go through all the options again, so I will deal with it for the time being.

I get very hot at night, and I am very sensitive to things in/around/pressing on my ears, so I was very hesitant at the idea of sleep headphones to begin with, but I was having such success with playing my school lectures on my phone while I slept, I wanted to give it a try (the fan could drown out the phone on the nightstand sometimes). This is much lighter than I expected, and hasnt caused me any extra heat at all–it doesn’t have any padding around the eyes but I still pull it down over my eyes and don’t use my separate sleep mask anymore, as this makes my face far less hot. The headphones are almost inaudible unless you get them aligned right up to your ears, which I prefer honestly, and while laying on the little discs isn’t always the most comfortable, its personally more comfortable for me than earbuds and isn’t uncomfortable enough to hinder sleep. It’s even washable, which is great, even if getting the electronic components back into the headband afterwards is a pure nightmare, so you can’t wash it that often unless you want to deal with that regularly (I do not). It connects easily to my phone, I just wish it had an auto-disconnect feature or button because if I take it off in the middle of the night, all sound from my phone still goes through the headphones–including phone calls and anything else–until I manually disconnect it. Not a big deal, or even an annoyance so much as a desired improvement. The only thing I’ve had issue with is I’m a supermobile sleeper, and there are prev and next controls on the headband–so if you turn at the exactly right (or wrong, in this case) angle, you can accidently start suddenly fast forwarding whatever you’re hearing or skip it entirely. Super disorienting and startling if you’re on the edge of sleep.Still, overall, this has improved my sleep quality tenfold, even when not actively using the headphone feature. Just make sure to plug it in when you get up as you can’t use it while it’s charging, and if it plays audio consistently all night you can maybe get 2, 2.5 full nights out of it before it fully dies. Also: I specifically wanted something that was NOT noise canceling as I need to be able to still hear my surroundings in order to sleep comfortably–this lets you hear sound from your headphones and does NOT hinder your hearing your environment, which to me is a plus but if you’re looking for noise canceling, look elsewhere.

  • // Q & A

    Will this stop the voices?

Unfortunately more noise can make it seam like there is more voices. Lots of sleep, eating healthy and keeping your stress level down is the best way to stop an episode.

Do these headphones have a low battery tone/warning that would wake you up?

It days power off when you manually turn it off. It's designed to not make any beeps or announcements in case you're asleep. I've used mine since may and I've had the battery die several times while I'm asleep. What wakes me is not hearing any sounds in my ears anymore, not because of any sounds the headband makes

Why do these headphones turn the phone's ringer volume to max? They also turn the headphone volume to max when connected.

I’m not sure why it does this... if you press and hold down button on right it will lower volume and vice versa for lowering the volume with left button but make sure to press and hold down otherwise it will fast forward or reverse

Bought 3 for the family. Discovered that the first one turned on receives all three feeds into the speakers, and the other two won't connect. Help?

What a good technical question! As these do not advertise that more than one can be hooked into the same wireless/Bluetooth network at the same time, much less that more than one on the same Bluetooth net can listen to more than one stream, I highly doubt that they even have this capability. If you want the fancy stuff, it’s going to cost you, more than these cheapies. I would not call these “high fidelity”, or any other audiofile term, but, that do what I bought them for: let me (a 100% side sleeper) listen to my relaxation/meditation tracks, while I am comfortably falling asleep.

Can other people hear the sound coming out of headphones?

No different than earbuds, if it's loud you can hear something.. but not really make it out. My sister asked me what that sound was, it was very loud white noise but she could only hear it a bit. Helps me sleep through just about anything.. love them
