In an effort to better get a handle on their massive inventory, Walmart has begun inserting RFID tags in many of their items. This has been going on for a while but now the company is about to kick it up a notch.
The company will begin inserting radio-frequency ID tags on individual clothes. The intent here is to help manages get a bead on what items they need to restock, get new colors of, etc. The theory here is for consumers to never see their favorite color or size sold out.
Of course, if you are one that values privacy, you could take offense at this practice. After all, who wants a tracking computer chip in your t-shirt? Well, except for us. We love that stuff.
