The EKEN Bone Conduction Headphones feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for easy pairing with smartphones, tablets, and other devices. With a battery life of up to 6 hours and a comfortable, lightweight design, these headphones are perfect for long runs, bike rides, or workouts at the gym. I never knew what bone conductive headphones were. I was simply looking for a lightweight set of Bluetooth headphones that I could wear while on the treadmill. When I saw these headphones I did a little research to find that these are not actually designed to be inserted into the ear. The padded earpieces actually get placed just outside your ears, on the cheekbones. The vibrations send sound to your ears, allowing you to experience full audio as well as keeping in full tune with your surroundings. It’s an interesting concept, and actually, it works quite well. This is the perfect product for someone that wants to listen to headphones outside while exercising, but yet not be shunned from ambient sounds.Wearing these on the treadmill, I found them to be very comfortable. They clip around the ear so they stay in place and don’t wiggle around while moving. Pairing the headphones is easy — a simple 5-second press of a button puts them in pairing mode. No issues pairing to the transmitter that is connected to my television that I watch while exercising. For music, these aren’t the best buds. Quite frankly, I don’t these kinds of headsets are meant for high-quality music playback based ion the way they transmit audio. I will say that audio is very clear and there were absolutely no dropouts while in use.The headphones handle sweat very well. After the treadmill, I wipe them down with an alcohol pad. For the next day’s workout, I simply press to turn back on and the Bluetooth is automatically re-connected.While testing the audio quality of my iPhone output to these headphones, a call came through. A simple tap on the side button allowed me to take the call, which came through clearly for both myself and the caller. It was a bit of a surprise when the call came, and I scrambled to do the most intuitive action I could, and a simple tap on the earpiece did the trick. In all, these headphones serve their purpose very well. I don’t have something jammed in my ear while I am exercising. I enjoy the fact that I can listen from both the headphones and what is happening around me at the same time. This is great technology and I love the way it works.

With the improvement in bluetooth, wireless earphones have been a great travel companion for me. I don’t like sticking earbuds into my ears, neither do I like a big headphone with ear pads which makes me sweat like a polar bear after a few minutes. Finally I found this pair of bone conduction headphones that has it’s roots in military tactical design and a complement to today’s smart devices. It works really well with decent sound, clean, dynamic sound. It is not heavy on the bass but well-balanced. The pairing with BT was easy with my iPhone and compatible with my favorite Tune-In app. The only limitation I found is if I was to lie my head down, I have a slight challenge getting it in position. However I like the fact that It is light and compact for travel and great for outdoors. The buttons are in a convenient area on the left side and molded to allow me to tell which buton I am pressing. These bone conduction headphones rest directly on my cheekbones. Unlike traditional headphones and earbuds, the eardrum doesn’t vibrate to pass the sound along to the cochlea. Instead, the vibrations from the bone conduction bee-lines for the cochlea. Due to the lack of eardrum involvement, this technology is good for people with hearing deficiencies, as the bone conduction vibration acts as in lieu of the eardrum.I love it.

Headset holds a charge well. It has great sound and is very comfortable to wear. I can still hear things going on around me, which is important to me.

Ive never had a bone conduction pair of headphones. I actually didn’t even know what it was, but I’m glad I decided to check these out. They actually fit in front of your ears, not on your ears. This is useful for my runs because I can hear cars and whatnot better. The sound is VERY robust, and taking calls is surprisingly easy. At night, I actually connect these to my TV so I don’t have to turn it up sky high while my wife tries to sleep. It is a pretty unobtrusive pair to wear when laying down.

Well i’ve owned aftershokz air and aftershokz titanium. Bought these because they’re far less expensive and i lost both other pairs… i’ve used them for a couple weeks now and taken them on bike rides, runs, and around the house. In short, these are so close to the quality, sound, interface, battery, clamping force, and overall appearance to the aftershokz that i’d be lying if I said i knew a difference with my eyes closed. The ONLY complaint I have (which is why it’s only 4 stars) is the volume is quite a bit lower than i’d prefer while biking with even a little wind in my ears. at full blast i cannot hear the narrator hardly at all. I don’t remember that with my aftershokz…For those who aren’t aware, you don’t really get these for sound quality. They’re much more for activities where it’d be good to keep awareness of your surroundings (biking on a trail with others passing you or a dog chasing you). They don’t really produce accurate sound for music, but they do very very well with audiobooks or podcasts or light music consumption. Just don’t expect nearly any bass. They still, however, are fantastic at what they do for activities which require it.Overall I’d say Eken has done a great job at making a clone whose form and function are both so darn close that i wouldn’t really worry about never going back to aftershokz. aaaaaand half price… did i mention that?

Don’t expect sound quality like an ear bud, it’s more like a personal speaker. The wonderful thing about it is that I can enjoy my music loudly while hearing noises around me. I used to take out one earbud to run so that I could hear cars, and as a woman, I like being able to hear people approaching me. I also feel like my ear drums are receiving a safer method of sound delivery. Extremely comfortable to run with!
