Have only 40% off my hearing. I have tried 4 sets of hearing aids that go in the ear over the last 12 years and I was never real happy..These work the best. I only have a couple of thing’s I wish were better. All together I have spent about $14,000. After I have used them for a while I will be In a better position to tell the + – of them.

The headphones themselves work very well. However, they’re made to swivel 90 degrees each. When doing so, I noticed that the left unit moved crisply, while the right one felt loose. Each is secured by a tiny Philips screw. I noticed the right screw jiggling. Tried to tighten it, and it just kept turning forever — its thread (or that of the hole it screws into) — was stripped.Returned forthwith to Amazon for refund. This is both bad design (why add the swivel function?) and sloppy manufacturing and quality control.

I bought the headphones to watch tv without disturbing anyone. They arrived in 3 days and took less than 5 minutes to connect. The directions that came with the headphones were very easy to understand. They work great and I especially like that the volume is not limited.

I am one of those people who never writes reviews but I feel I must change that policy to review this product. I purchased this PocketTalker for my 93 year-old mother who has a severe hearing loss and wears hearing aids. The hearing aids are minimally helpful (when they work at all) and of course are very expensive. From the minute I put the headphones on my mother she was able to hear me clearly. I didn’t have to shout as I do even when she’s wearing her hearing aids. It was like having my mother back again. When she can hear what we’re saying she can participate in the conversation and respond appropriately instead of trying to guess and be frustrated. I took her to visit an older very good long-time friend of hers and brought the device with us. She hadn’t been in touch with this woman for awhile because her friend didn’t have the energy to shout so that my mother could hear her. It was such a sweet thing watching this reunion between my mother and her friend now that my mother could hear her. I live half-way across the world from my mother and we mostly rely on frustrating phone conversations to stay connected between visits. Now my mother puts on the headphones and puts the microphone next to the phone. We can finally have a normal conversation…no more shouting, no more miscommunication. In short, our family loves the PocketTalker and highly recommends it!

Just received h840’s two days ago and I am very impressed. I have owned several pairs of somewhat high-end phones and these seem to rate with the best of them. Not really impressed with build quality nor the flimsy cord but the sound is incredible. After the burn in l believe I will be even more impressed. Can not over emphasis how good they sound. Great job Update : After two weeks of joy the left side stopped working. Contacted Edifier and after providing some info a new pair were sent to me. This is the kind of customer service that will make shopping from Edifier a pleasure. I am still convinced you cannot find a better sounding headphone for under 100 dollars

I’m 64 years old with sever hearing loss for most of my adult life. The loss is in the stirrup anvil connection. Internally I have the hearing of an 18 year old. I’ve owned several conventional sets and they have always lacked until now I can no longer hear with them thru the ears. Metal implants for the bone conduction aids available in the US are totally unacceptable with my beliefs, not to mention the $35,000.00 to get them. At least with these I can hear for the 1st time in 3 years. Durability is yet to be determined.
