Would these work with a Giro helmet?

It may vary how it fits depending on the model, but I believe it worked successfully with mulitple Giro helmets. The cord length is 9 3/4 inches. It should go along the back of your helmet once placed in correctly. The overall length from each ear piece end is 14 1/2 inches. Hope this helps!

Do these have an Aux port to connect your phone manually in case batteries die?

There is a port for charging so you could connect to a portable battery source. The batteries on these are excellent so you shouldn’t have any issues

Will these work with older iphones? Like the 4S and 6S?

These should work with you Bluetooth enabled device

Has anyone used these with an Oakley Mod 5 helmet? It has two small pouches but not sure if these speakers would fit.

The speakers "fit", however They seem to be pressing on my ears and it triggers the button if nudged to pause / play. Will test them tomorrow but may be returning them sadly.

can these work using a bike helmet

you would need to get something from 3M or similar to stick them on your helmet - that assumes there is a covering over your ears there to stick them to ...and the bike helmets I've used haven't had that - might require a little extra 'engineering' to make it work such as using a sweat band or something over the ears you could squeeze them into or onto

10 Reviews for Alta Bluetooth Helmet Headphones

I used these headphones for the first time this skiing weekend. They were super user friendly. Easy to charge and quick to charge. Fit in to my Wildhorn helmet with ease. They aren’t too bulky. Other headphones for helmets I have tried in the past ended up putting too much pressure on my ears after a full day of skiing and these did not! Very easy to use once in the helmet. Answered calls, played good tunes, sound quality was just fine for my needs. Easy to change song and volume, turn off and on, tells you how much charge is left! Could still hear my friends with the music on low. Traditional ear bud style tends to block out too much noise for me. Love that they are wireless. Sleek design, light weight. Honestly, I really recommend them! Get yourself a pair and try them out!

there’s some amazing things about these. Button size is fantastic!! and how they fit in to ear pads. Even the battery life and controls are great. Bluetooth is a breeze to connect and stays connected. I took 1 stars away because this product is all about listening to music. If Your music gets overpowered with midrange then what’s the point? These do have great sound quality if you place them in your ear pads properly. I also found that the sound quality varies depending on what helmet you put them into. At 1st I didn’t like them in my old helmet because earpads are very thick. Then I tried them in the wildhorn helmet and then placed them into the pockets properly. The results were phenomenal the bass and the clarity of sound was perfect. If your not happy with the sound quality, then adjust the placement of them. This should help

These headphones are great and easy to use!! I’ve used other Bluetooth headphones in my helmet and they have all been pretty complex to get working and pretty finicky. Connecting these headphones to my phone was SO easy and all the commands are simple and easy to figure out. They were easy to install in the helmet and have a great sound! They are a great size and should fit in most helmets. They also come with a nice sturdy carrying case. Honestly, a great price and great quality. Your 80-year-old-shredding-grandpa could figure these out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Great battery life. I didn’t use the left buttons but the right large was great for pausing music while on the lift. I don’t like my music loud for safety reasons and this was perfect. Provided a background without overwhelming sounds of skiers coming up behind me.I used it for 4 days without recharging and battery is still at 50%.Was also great for alerting me of incoming texts so I could meet back up with my husband. No problem with the length of cord in fact I have more than I need, it sticks out a small bit in the vack but i wear a size small helmet. Ear pads dropped right in my giro helmet. Paired with Samsung s8, spotify

I went to Davos for skiing last week and I am SOOOO glad I got these headphones instead of other more expensive brands. Having used these in pretty extreme skiing conditions, these did not let me down for a second. They fit into any ski helmet with audio-compatible ear pads (I tried them in a few), including my Atomic one.The sound quality is pretty damn good. Those reviewers who complain about “not enough bass”, I would say you need to place them correctly in the helmet! Also, you’re using these for skiing, not in a recording studio! If you want very deep bass, I suggest you buy a ghetto blaster and carry it on your back rather than go skiing! In any case, my skiing playlists include classical, death/black metal, EDM and rock, and they all sounded pretty good to me. (And yes, I know what great sounds like – I use mixing and recoding quality headphones at home.)The charging is quick (I think around an hour from flat) and gives around 10 hours of use. The bluetooth connection is 100% solid. I had these connected to my Apple Watch music app, and my watch was buried underneath my ski gloves, ski jacket and thermal layers, and not once did I lose connection for a second! This is probably the best thing I like about these headphones; they are super reliable. And the large buttons are amazing. I could stop, play, skip backwards/forwards and adjust volume without taking my gloves off. I am not sure if the manufacturer claims these are water-resistant/-proof, but from my experience, they can handle wet conditions pretty well – I used them in my woollen hat instead of my helmet one day, and it was a horrible non-stop-snow-and-wind day, and these headphones couldn’t care less! The manufacturers of these headphone make a point of saying these have been designed/tested by people who actually ski. After using these last week, I believe them! I cannot fault these one bit. If you ski, forget all other headphones. Get these!

I bought my very first Smith helemet that is capable of holding wireless speakers on sale for $130. I REALLY didn’t want to spend that same amount on some tiny speakers, so I looked at many different ones (like the ever so popular Outdoor Tech Chip ones) and read many reviews. All of them pretty much had the same complaints: either bluetooth would lose connection or the buttons were to difficult to manage with gloves on.I ended up going with these because I couldn’t pass up the price tag and it had decent reviews. I had no issues on the mountain and now I am super thankful I purhased ones with big buttons. I DID “lose” connection a couple times but it was easily fixed by taking my phone out and pushing play on spotify. But pairing with an iphone is SUPER easy and fast, and I only had to pair the first time. I feel like for the price I paid, I got the same thing as all those $130 speakers that pretty much have the same, if not worse reviews. Would buy these again.

These produce good sound. The buttons are big and it’s intuitive what the buttons on each side do (one side has 2 buttons and the other only 1 button). Buttons are big enough to use with gloves.Charging via included micro-USB is great. Other similar devices use a proprietary male USB-A to 3.5mm audio jack for charging.

Really wanted to like these headphones as we are avid snowboarders/skiers here in Colorado. We got this set before Christmas and forgot to take it out and get it ready for several trips, but did so recently. They fit nicely in helmets and the controls seem to be well placed and not too prone to hitting the wrong button with a pair of gloves on which is the most annoying thing about this product category, but we have had some connection issues (with a Pixel 2XL and Pixel 3XL) and charging that seems to stop during the night, causing a sad face on the slopes the next day. We have noticed that unplugging and re-plugging the charger afew times during the charge (babysitting it) makes it a little happier and gets to a complete charge. The connection issue is frustrating, as the device drops and with gloves/helmet/hat/cold you never want to be messing with fixing – to the point of just going the day without, because there is more Joy in the snow than messing with the tech.

I purchased this product with My own hard earned money and this review contains my own thoughts and opinion. I bought this product while there were very few reviews taking the risk. In terms of in ski helmet headphones there very few options on the market, fewer for Bluetooth which I personally didn’t care that much about. Battery life is better than I expected 2 days of skiing using it for most of both days 6+ hours each day didn’t need to charge it once. I own a Smith Vantage Helmet, installing the headphones was as easy as unzipping the back/bottom of the ear pad liner and sliding them into place. I personally left the foam inserts inside the ear-pad in place, this lead to the ear piece being a little tight. Next season I may either remove the foam or try to trim/thin it. These headphones are also supposed to be fairly weather resistant which is needed for a ski helmet. Audio quality was adequate. There is very little base and I used it at my phones lowest volume setting or 2nd lowest which allowed me to still talk to my ski partners on the lift and hear music and it still loud enough while skiing I could just hear it and still listen to my surroundings. As a side note I usually listen to music at my phones lowest volume setting. The device also features a built in Mic for phone calls but I did not make or receive any call to test this. Device Controls are adequate. Play/Pause/Power are all easy to use while on the lift without taking off gloves. I found volume/advance song much harder to use. When trying to advance a song I usually ended up just increasing the volume. This is probably largely due to the orientation of the headphone inside the ear pad. This is a great buy if you want to add basic audio to your ski helmet.

I’ve just had a weeks skiing in Austria using this. Great sound, using my phone was a doddle.I charged in on Saturday. Used it Sunday to Thursday before I had to charge it again. But no problem when you switch it on it will tell you the charge level. The large button the right side works well. The smaller buttons on the left take some getting used too.v2.0 o0f this would be awesome if it identified the caller. But what I bought is excellent.
