UPDATE SINCE THIS REVIEW WAS POSTED:Just had a call w/ the support rep and she thinks the the collar I received was defective. She is going to send me a replacement and I will try it again and update this review next week. This collar may not have had the latest firmware installed on it (hence all the issues I encountered).—Had high hopes for this since it was new and I saw the other reviews but this ended up being a nightmare. The GPS stopped working after one time and I followed the cryptic troubleshooting advice online which also didn’t work. The display for the tag is super small so you can hardly read it. The instruction manual is a joke and has no troubleshooting in it. There was even some weird Chinese characters on the GPS screen in the App and at one point it thought my dog was in Africa. Also, when you call the collar you can’t hear it because the voice is garbled. There is no phone number to call for support… only e-mail which I hate because I want to speak with someone. This is clearly a product that was rushed to market without proper testing and support in place. It has great potential but it needs to work.Don’t buy this!

Too darn complicated to use! Returned it because of the difficulties getting it to work. In addition, they wanted a monthly fee!

I purchased my first collar a couple about 1 month ago. It lasted two weeks before it broke. I bought a second and it lasted about 1 week. The first was pulled on by another dog and cracked the screen. The second I grabbed my 40# dog by to lift him into my truck. It came apart in my hand. The computer chip fell right out and plastic was not repairable. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I really like this product and the customer service was amazing! I bought one collar that was not working quite right. They were quick to make sure that it would get replaced. I would highly recommend this collar.

This is a really neat idea. But, between the poor cellular coverage and just as bad GPS reception, this collar is useless for me (I live near a freeway where you would expect cell coverage to be good regardless of carrier)Maybe if you lived in an area with wide open fields with a cell tower in the middle of the field this would work just fine. When we did try a phone call to the device, it had very poor audio quality in both directions.

I bought two of these collars for my two dogs after they escaped for 3 days. Three main issues with these: 1. One of them broke after 2 days. I tried to super glue it, but nope. 2. I set the geo boundaries but the app kept alerting me that they were in and out of the geo fence while they were laying in the house. 3. The battery does not last long, we had to charge them every night.

It said my dog was 1/2 mile away at 5:07 AM when she was laying in bed. This kind of in accuracy happened 3 different times. The collar was not made to be worn around the property (the only reason I bought it is to see if she left the area) because the map is way to large for the tiny little phone screen. It would be perfect if you could look at it on a large screen like a computer.I have always gotten a quick and very polite response when I called for help but it still is not accurate so she doesn’t wear it much. A lot of money to throw away and still don’t know where she goes.Would not recommend this collar.

The details indicated that the battery life lasts aprox 2 days. That is completely inaccurate! I purchased the collar and never used it after my first week of use. I was not even trying to utilize all of the tracking features and information updates etc. I was simply wanting to use it as a name tag collar and locator if I ever needed to find our Dog. The battery would die every day making it a complete hassle to recharge. It’s unreliable to use as a dog name tag collar due to the fact that it may not make it through a single day! I ended up buying an old fashion engraved dog tag for $15. It sits in a drawer useless. I was expecting a lot more out of this device. I have a high end Garmin GPS Sport training and hunting collar that I’ve used for over 3 years and was expecting at least similar quality….. I would NOT recommend this and am currently looking at other brands which are aprox $50-$85 more than this but looks like the quality is much better reviewed.

I’m not sure what’s up with all the negative reviews but they may have updated the battery on this because I’ve been using mine for a week now and only have to charge it about every other day, which is what they state is the expected battery life. I’m not sure if people were not charging them properly but I haven’t had any issues thus far and love the features the Smart Collar provides.
