Breaking a limb is scary stuff. You end up in a whole lot of pain then some doctor throws a cast on the offending limb and you gotta have everyone in school sign it with embarrassing stuff like “hey loser!” In short, it’s not a whole lot of fun. Eventually, however, we knew that wearable technology would get on the case to make this whole thing more, well, painless. Now that day is finally here. Introducing an arm cast that is better than the old school casts in just about every conceivable way, and on top of all of that, it’s printable from home(providing you have the equipment.)
Introducing Cortex. The name might make you think of some kind of brain peripheral but that is not the case at all. Cortex is  3D-printable arm cast with many benefits over your average casts. First of all, it’s 3D-printed so if you have an appropriate printer you can make it at home. Secondly, as you can see from the pictures, it is fully breathable and quite aesthetically pleasing. Thirdly, and most importantly, there is no room for any of your bozo friends to write stupid stuff. Yay technology! Of lesser import, it’s fully recyclable. Just kidding. That’s also important.
Of course, like most things in life, you’ll have to wait a little bit. This cast is not actually printable just yet, but should be in the near future. The cast works using x-ray information from each individual patient so it is taking some time to get that infrastructure in place. We’ll let you know more as soon as we know more.
