10 Reviews for HalfSun Fitness Tracker

  1. FLBucsFan

I received this watch 10 days ago and I think I can review this item at this time. This is the 3rd fitness watch that I have tried and also the most inexpensive and my bottom line is that the watch represents an excellent value for the price.Pros: Step count, miles walked, heart beat features seem pretty accurate. Battery life is excellent as I charged this when I received it and 10 days later it is still at 40% battery level. Screen is easy to read. The health app is decent to good and does what you need it to do and was easy to configure. I checked my calorie burn vs on line guides and it was pretty close to suggested burn levels for my height/weight. So all the main features that you want do work pretty accurately. Wrist band is comfortable to wear.Cons: The blood pressure feature like others have noted is inaccurate with systolic number. In my case it was usually consistently about 20 points low when compared to my blood pressure cuff. Diastolic number was pretty close. Sleep results were generally accurate when compared to the information that I got from using my CPAP, but of the 9 nights of sleep, 7 matched the CPAP and 2 were just completely inaccurate, not exactly sure why. Finally, connection issues. My phone is a Samsung 8+ and when you walk out of BT range with the watch, your phone does lose connection to the watch, however almost always, when I walk back into range it automatically reconnects. About once a day, it doesn’t and I’ve found all that I need to do is disable the BT for about 4-5 seconds and the watch will reconnect. Sometimes I have to re-select it from available devices. I had this problem with the other two smart watches that I have used and frankly this is much better than those. Overall, for me, this is more a minor inconvenience than any major problem. This issue might be more phone specific rather than a general problem.Summary: For a $35 smart fitness watch, I find it a very good value.

So this review is overdue because this product is so good, I never want to sit down to write it. I have had it for 3 weeks now. It has motivated me so much more than I expected. I was upset with my current weight. My eating habits were out of control. Other than cleaning and running after my kids, I was sitting most of the day. Even though I have been on the smaller side most of my life, I have never been very active or healthy. I didn’t expect this little watch to change everything, but it has. I never want to just sit down and do nothing anymore. Every day is a challenge to see how many steps I can get. I move as often as I can. I dance while I clean. I march in place while I watch TV. I choose to walk places when possible. I walked 3 miles to the store the other day by choice. I had set my goal at 10k steps and thought it would be a challenge. I have actually hit over 20k steps a few days.Since I was moving so much, I started losing a little weight. This inspired me to fix my eating habits as well. Three weeks after I got this watch, I have lost 10.5lbs which is over 10% of my body weight! I am working out every single day. I feel amazing and powerful. So let’s get to the watch itself. It looks nice. I love the large screen. I have sensitive skin, and it has caused me no issues. The step tracker is pretty accurate. Like most activity trackers, it counts your arm swings and not your steps. So if you are pushing a shopping cart, you might not get your steps counted. The heart rate monitor seems accurate as well. I don’t really use the blood pressure monitor, so I am not sure how accurate it is. I will say that it has been reading around the number I got at the doctor a few days ago.I use the sport mode frequently. I love to see how many calories I am burning during activity. It does not allow you to tell it what exercise you are doing which would help the calorie count be more accurate. The sleep mode is the only thing about this watch that is a bust. It is beyond inaccurate. It always says I got much more sleep than I did. I wake up several times a night between the dog, kids, needing to get a drink of water, etc. It will say I was sleeping, but at the same time it shows me walking around during that same time. But I don’t use it for the sleep monitor. The battery life could be better. Maybe I run it down faster on the sports mode. I get about half a week out of it. I try to charge it at night since I don’t need to see my sleep. The charge is a little tricky. Twice I have left it to charge only to realize I didn’t have it connected well. That is the only reason I am sitting down working on this review right now. I didn’t actually charge it last night.Overall, this a great product for the price. It looks nice. It is accurate enough. It is waterproof. It even lets you track your periods. It has made a huge improvement in my health.

  3. MtnLovr

Has many health monitoring functions such as blood pressure, pulse, sleep monitor, and activity tracking. Has multiple sport modes including step monitoring, running info including gps tracking, and calorie counting. Watch is comfortable, waterproof, and looks good.Questionable accuracy of blood pressure. Watch needs to be tight on the wrist to work properly. Not very user friendly interface…took me awhile to learn how to access everything. Needs an app to access most things. All in all a very full-functioned fitness tracker for a very good price.

Since I have joined the YMCA club, I have been looking for an activity tracker to track my heart rate when I am running on the treadmill. Obviously, I don’t want to pay a lot to get something like FitBit, I think it is a bit overpriced. I came across this one and see it has good reviews. I purchased this and I am satisfied. It is easy to use while it has a lot of functions. The battery life is awesome and the reading is accurate. It definitely servers the exercises tracking purpose.

  5. ORA

Off the top all the general functions appear to be working properly and as expected. HR/Cal/Ped.There seems to be a significant issue with the ECG system. The BPM reads as 2x – 3x what the standard BPM registers.BPM might be 65-72 while ECB-BPM will be 108-212. Unsure where this value is coming from but if these are supposed to be coincident then there is a problem. This happens in the App an on the band during manual test.I have other HR/BPM monitors and they all register 65-72 as expected so the ECG is not producing a valid result, or my understanding of the readout is inaccurate and might not understand it, but I am guess that it is the band ECG value that is inaccurate. How can this be resolved?

  6. Csilla Maroti

I got this for my mom for Christmas. She’s new to the tracker universe so I thought we should go with a low risk (ie cheap) item. It’s a great looking tracker, comfortable on the wrist and the screen is nice with vivid and clear images/ icons. I think it’s accurate although I haven’t checked it against another device. It certainly makes my mom move more regularly and consciously which was the whole purpose. The reason for taking off one star is the crappy app. It’s poorly translated to English, and wasn’t optimised for my moms Android phone so it just didn’t look great. Setting up wasn’t too hard and it does sync pretty okay, it just feels iffy. With a little extra effort this could be a really good tracker/app.

  7. Action

“Watch” connects to the app, performs the measurements if the measuring contacts are able to sense pulse. While pulse can be measured when contacts is on wrist, for BP you need opposite side of wrist and for ECG you need to wear on opposite side of wrist and touch on the touch area. It do measure and pass to the app if the app is up and running. But the BP measurement is off by 30 points on the systolic side and 5 points on the diastolic side. While 5 points is acceptable, 30 points is highly misleading and not acceptable.I bought this assuming it will give a convenient read out of BP. So, it failed BP measurement test against wrist BP monitor and regular BP monitor which are of clinical accuracy.

  8. love this

I got this because I need to keep a eye on my heart rate it is Accurate I put my o2 monitor on the same hand and they both was the same .. blood pressure monitor is sometimes right but I don’t depend on it I check it with a blood pressure cuff upper arm..sometimes when you try to check your BP on the wrist it is not accurate..the steps don’t work and really does not know how to read the ekgs but other than that I like the heart rate that what I got it for..

  9. DJN

As far as a fitness watch, this works great for the price – counting steps, heart rate, sleep etc. I have a Versa Fitbit which I am absolutely love, but no blood pressure readings! So I purchased this watch through Amazon for the blood pressure readings which is not a feature on my Fitbit. I have to admit I am disappointed. I feel no confidence in the readings. On the “personal manual” BP test of the app, whatever reading I set as my personal reading, the blood pressure readings on the watch lingers around that number. It is unclear about that personal setting under blood pressure monitoring, so for clarity I YouTubed videos on this watch. Mostly every video I watched said the blood pressure feature on this watch is a “work in progress”. I should have Youtubed before my purchase. Definitely would be a great feature . . . If only!!! Maybe some day!

  10. steve ogden

Ok, I bought this because I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on meds for the first time in my life. I’ve never taken anything so I wanted to make sure I was getting good results and not letting my BP go too low or not low enough. I have a cuff that I test my BP each night but this allows me to check it throughout the day, which I did. I was very impressed at how accurate it was, which I compared with the results of the cuff I use. It was accurate enough for me to feel comfortable using as a source. I also realized I am not exercising nearly enough as reported by how few steps I take in a day. So, it’s also responsible for making me get up and move more. Very comfortable to wear and I like the adjustable strap, similar to a sports watch. Also, the ECG function is pretty cool, if not super convenient since I had to use the gel each time I ran the test or I’d get an error because it didn’t have a good connection. But honestly, how often do you need to check that. Very cool band and a fraction of the price of a FitBit, which my wife wanted me to get. I was not about to spend that kind of money. This is just what i needed.
