The LED’s are very cool just like any of Divoom’s other products. However, this is still a 16×16 grid and each “pixel” is extremely large now, so it becomes quite hard to make out what the image is when up close sometimes. The really cool thing about this being on a backpack is that if you are a cyclist, you can put turn signals on it and control it from a smartphone mounted on your bike. You have to bring your own battery pack however, to use the LED.The backpack itself is made with very high quality materials. There is basically only one compartment, and then 2 water bottle holders. I wish the water bottle holders could be slightly bigger as it has trouble holding my 1 liter Camelbak, and is not elastic material. The back, straps, and laptop area are all padded nicely. I love that they included a built in elastic to secure any extra strap length as well. The front also has some level of protection due to the hard LED panel. You should avoid having the LED’s take any hits, but they will probably protect the items inside your bag if it comes down to it.My main gripe is that it was frustratingly difficult to figure out how to get it to remember what display to show. The manual does not tell you much at all besides how to connect the bluetooth. I finally figured it out after 30 minutes of searching all over the app. You have to go to the “Channel” tab in the app, swipe over to custom, choose what pixel art you want to use, and then go to the menu button in the top right and change your default startup channel to “Custom”. Otherwise it will play random art from the “Cloud Channel” every time you turn on the display. Once you have this set up it works great. You can also set it to turn off the display when you shake your phone, which is pretty convenient.

So, first of all, I LOVE this backpack. Being able to make my own pixel art and display it, on an actually really functional backpack? Super cool.I did run into issues though. First, the app they tell you to download from the Google Play store…wasn’t there. I emailed support, and they got back to me within an hour (which is very abnormal, but great!). Apparently they were right in the middle of updating it and had taken it down from the store…but the new release was on their website? Ok, that doesn’t sound weird at all (sarcasm). But, I took a chance and downloaded from their website. It worked. My second issue is that I have to provide my own battery, and that makes it impossible to know if my third issue was from my battery, or the backpack. So, third, after only a little while, the display shuts off. I would like to be able to either set a timer, or have it display indefinitely. I can’t really mark them down too much for this, as it COULD be my battery….but….I don’t like that I had to provide my own in the first place. I will say, they do make it clear you need your own battery, so I can’t really mark them down for that either. So, 4/5 stars because the backpack quality alone is great, the idea of the pixel art front is awesome, and support was great…but the app is not great and there MAY be some weird shutting off issue.

This Divoom LED Display Backpack is essentially a standard backpack except it includes a 16″ by 16″ pixel LED panel. You’ll need to download the DIVOOM app and install your own power bank to bring this backpack to life. However, within a few minutes, your Divoom LED Display Backpack will light up with predefined images or customized text to display.I used this Divoom LED Display Backpack as a novelty item during Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The DIVOOM app has a wide assortment of themed images for holidays so trick-or-treaters enjoyed spooky ghosts, jack-o-lanterns, and skeletons when they stopped by for treats. Holiday guests saw Santa Claus, reindeer, and there were various images for thanksgiving and New Year’s.This Divoom LED Display Backpack has a large enough display for onlookers to see it without having to get too close. For me, that meant being able to leave the backpack in a window or on a table or shelf without actually carrying the backpack around. Speaking of carrying the pack, this Divoom LED Display Backpack is lightweight and can hold a few items but it really isn’t built to be a gym or school bag. This Divoom LED Display Backpack is something you display for visual effect. What I liked most about this Divoom LED Display Backpack was:- Easy to setup- Wows a crowd- Lightweight and highly portableWhat I liked least about this Divoom LED Display Backpack was:- It’s not really a functional backpack. That said, you can use it but why would you?Overall, this Divoom LED Display Backpack is the quintessential luxury item. This backpack is something to display in a room, take videos of on social media, or pull out to entertain guests. I am not sure this backpack would survive a day at school or even be allowed if its display is used. While you can technically load tech and gear into this $150 Divoom LED Display Backpack you can spend a third of the price for something much more functional. That said, this Divoom LED Display Backpack is a showstopper that is the ultimate icebreaker. 4.0 out of 5.0

LOVE THIS??? –
I loved this when I first got it. It worked perfectly with the app on the phone. I am not sure how to fix the power issue…. The backpack itself is nice and works even if the screen doesn’t. It is great for travel and getting around.

First off, I love Divoom products! I have the Divoom Ditto, the Divoom Fannypack, and Divoom Backpack. I’ve never had issues with any of them and the app isn’t the greatest and has a learning curve, but I’m still pretty happy with it. You do need a portable power supply in order to use it/bring it around. I have a different brand fannypack that you can customize like this, but the quality is nowhere near the same. I definitely recommend if you have the extra money to blow, LOL.
