First, like the headline says, it makes me wonder how I even enjoyed playing with my Quest2 without it. The stock strap that comes installed on a new Quest2 does its job, but that’s about it. It’s uncomfortable, and even when adjusted properly, it still puts a ridiculous amount of strain on the forehead and especially the cheekbones. It puts a lot of weight on the face and will actually pull your eyelids down at times, hindering your eyes from blinking properly. I also found it to irritate the back of the top of my ears, so I started having to tuck my ears underneath that part of the strap instead. That being said, the padding on the back of the Destek QH2 (with or without the battery) is extremely comfortable, and adjusts with just a subtle couple clicks of the back knob. Once it’s set to your liking, you don’t even really need to loosen it and readjust it the next time. I just keep it at the same setting, place my face against the device, and then slide the back pad down over the back of my head until it’s in its normal spot.Same goes for the top strap. You MAY adjust it a tiny bit for top of the head vs forehead, but I generally keep mine the same regardless of the position. I find top of the head is best for stability, for movement heavy games, and the headset rarely even budges during gameplay. I use my Quest2 daily for “Thrill of the Fight” boxing and “Beat Saber” for some regular exercise, both of which can wear you out easily if you’re playing them correctly. Forehead strap position seems best for sitting games and experiences, like watching movies/youtube/browsing, or fishing with “Bait!”, or even “Angry Birds”, or any other stationary experience. It pulls some of the pressure off your face, allowing you to loosen the tightness of the back pad and still be able to have a great viewing experience. Also, if you’re using your Quest2 for movement heavy games, I extremely recommend getting some rubber grips, preferably with a snug hand-strap (I bought the black Kiwi ones with the battery cover and knuckle straps), and they’re absolutely amazing and definitely help your grip on the controllers. The headphones work very well, and they seem to snap back into place well with the buttons and coil mechanism inside, but the wires are a little thin, so as long as you’re not aggressive with them or yanking them out hard, they should serve your purpose just fine. They eliminate the need to buy or use other dedicated headphones. Most of the time I just use the standard devices speakers, but if I’m trying to be quiet, the headphones definitely work. Now, the battery. It seems to operate just like any other external battery. The Destek QH2 strap comes with the cord to connect the battery to the headset, and even has a little rubber band on that side of the strap to slide the cord through so it doesn’t flap around. Since I kind of have a smaller head, the cord is a tiny bit too long, so I just created a small loop in the cord, and passed it through the rubber band twice so it’s still the perfect length. It has a very easy-to-understand battery level concept. there are 4 little lights that will display the current battery level, and a little button that can show you current level as well as stop providing power or turn off with a simple double press. The instructions say you can leave the battery connected and it will prioritize charging the headset before refilling the battery, but I prefer to charge them separately for the sake of principle and overall battery longevity. However, I have already left it connected and charged it strictly from the back port, and it does do what it’s supposed to, the way it says it’s supposed to. I generally run my headset till it gives me the low battery power warning, then plug it in for some extra time. I haven’t completely expended the batteries full capacity yet, but have gotten at least another solid hour out of using the headset and pretty sure I could get another hour out of it easily. By the time I’m finished playing my games or whatever after that extra hour, my headset is charged back up to at least 35% and the battery pack still has roughly half capacity left. Sometimes after I shut down my headset, I let the battery pack expend itself in charging the headset to properly cycle the battery for optimal battery life in the long run. It’s never a good idea to recharge any device regularly at half capacity. You generally just lower the overall life expectancy of the battery and weaken its capacity. As always, as with any battery powered device, make sure you fully charge the battery pack when you first take it out of the box to start the battery life off properly. The strap itself is super easy to install, just pull the original stock strap off at the little tab just past the speakers on the headset. If you feel a little hesitant of pulling too hard and possibly breaking something, there’s actually a Youtube video I watched that just addresses how to remove the stock strap just to confirm I wasn’t going to break anything, so don’t worry about damaging your device. It’s extremely simple. Then you just slide the headset earpieces into the proper side of the Destek QH2 straps until they reach the end, and that’s literally it! All you do from there is adjust the back pad and top head strap knobs until it feels comfortable, and you’re good to go!The Destek QH2 also comes with a little card with a QR code to scan for a full 2-Year manufacturer warranty so you don’t have to worry about buying Amazon’s extra warranty at checkout. I haven’t had to file any claims or anything, but I’ve used LOTS of different Destek products and reviews always rave about how good their customer service is. Not to mention, after registering your device for the warranty, it gives you an opportunity to leave a review for a $20 Amazon credit, which ultimately is like an instant rebate off the cost of the strap to begin with! All in all, Destek knocked it out of the park with this one, and I absolutely love using my Quest2 more than I ever did, and can feel comfortable for much longer periods at a time. It’s well worth the minor investment!

I bought this head strap for my son and he liked it so much. It is provided with a high capacity of 7000 mAh, sufficient for 3 -5 hours of playtime. It is provided with thick memory foam of 0.79 inches which has good elasticity. It is also provided with PU leather which makes our head strap very comfortable and also easy to clean. We can adjust the head strap by using the double knobs in order to fit perfectly on our heads without applying any pressure on the face. These retractable stereo earphones give us a great gaming experience. There is a button provided at the back of the quest which helps to retract the earphones when not in use. It is very easy to install and adjust. It is provided with silicone headphones tips which are very convenient to keep them in the ears.

Brilliant piece of equipment, so much sturdier than I thought and not heavy at all, very comfortable and easy to use, love the earphones

Once I figured out how to install it (you have to take off the front face plate thing, I can’t explain it well, but it wasn’t difficult) and figure out how to set it up, the difference in comfort was instantaneous. I was actually thinking of scrapping my oculus, it was that uncomfortable. It used to leave a deep mark on my forehead and some on my cheeks. With this thing, the oculus barely touches your face, in a good way. Takes all the pressure off your face. It’s pretty amazing.Having the built in ear buds is also amazing, as is the added battery life. I have nothing but good things to say about this item! We’ll see how it holds up, but right now I’m in love with it.

We have been needing a new head strap for our quest and decided to splurge in this one since it came with the extended battery and headphones. We mostly play beat saber and this head set fits so sung that it’s perfect for jumping around. Headphones are great and the extended batty life ensures we get our fill of beat saber when it gets pulled out for parties.

Before I rave about the product which is great the real star of this device is their customer support center. I have a issue with my headphones. I reached out late in the day heading into the weekend. I wasn’t expecting anything back until the following Monday. Nope, Saturday morning customer service had reached out and offered to replace it and requested I ship it back to them to run diagnostics on the damaged set. My new head arrived within days and had been amazing. I’ve purchased other head strap trying to relieve the weight of the quest 2 on my face and guys… this is the head strap. It’s amazing comfortable and I can play for more then 20 minutes without a sore neck. I absolutely love it.

Update: the battery life is great. I haven’t come near to getting a low battery alert in my headset, even after a solid two hours of playing Drop Dead The Cabin.I hear no difference in sound quality between over the ear headphones and the included earbuds. Buds are comfortable and sound fine in games. I absolutely love the head strap. My only comment would be that if a user pulls it outward to extend instead of turning the knob, the front connector can slide out. Operator error, not a design flaw. So, users, use the back knob to loosen.Original review – Arrived next day after ordering on Amazon. Packaging is professional and eye catching. I appreciate the many ear bud covers. Instructions simple and very easy to install.I haven’t used it yet for play, but tried it on. Was very easy to adjust to a snug and comfortable fit. Not having pressure on my face was the first noticeable difference from the Frankenquest I’ve been using.I may miss the over the ear headphones from the Frankenquest, but time will tell.So far, my first impression is good. Great build quality and design.

I had another head strap for my Oculus before this one, but it didn’t have a battery, so I bought this Destek head strap. I’m really glad I did, because not only can I play for a lot longer without having to recharge (in fact, I haven’t played long enough at once to run it out yet, unlike when I just used the Oculus by itself), but this strap is way more comfortable than the stock strap or the other one I bought. I also love how adjustable it is. The only problem I had was installing it, but that was because I forgot the other strap had some extra tabs that attached to the Oculus. As soon as I took those off, I was able to snap the new strap on with a bit of extra pressure. All in all, I’m fully satisfied.thehead stra is really comfortable, more comfortable than the other one is

This was my second head strap that purchased for my oculus 2 first one different make was ok but never switched off charging. This one so much lighter fits more comfortably and great value for money. But to be honest headphones great idea but quality let it down as no bass and too much treble. Best headset I’ve had and fits in the carry case too

This is a game changer, for sure. I kept developing a rash after working out with supernatural. I do have sensitive skin and was using the silicone cover. I had to find a head strap that wouldn’t press so hard to my face that sweat wat trapped. I can finally workout and not get itchy face from using this headstrap. Game changer and life saver

I bought this because I was having the worst neck pain to off set the weight of the oculus. It’s still a little heavy but it is so much better than before. Plus the battery and ear plugs are an awesome addition. Super easy to put together just take your oculus strap off and insert the battery pack arms. Definitely going to buy the charging travel case as well!

How do you get the original white strap off of the headset to install this?

They are snapped into place. Gently apply pressure with your thumbs on the inside of your original head strap further away from the screens and you will hear a pop. Also you can google removing original oculus head strap and there are quick 30 second videos.

    Can you replace the headphones?

Hi Zachary, Thanks for your question. The headphones for QH2 is a built-in design, meaning you can not replace them with your own headphones. If you need more support, please contact us at support[AT]destek[DOT]us. Thanks for your understanding.

Does this head strap really free your face?

It took a lot of pressure off my face. The top strap can be positioned for comfort.

Does the battery port have data passthrough for using a Link cable or is it power only?

Why not just directly connect link to headset? I never used link cable, but it has button switch to passthrough for charging headset directly without charging power bank so very likely data may be supported too. Still it's easy to disconnect powerbank cable and attach directly the link cable to headset as the mount doesn't block access to headset port at all.

my right earbud is not working. any ideas on how to fix it?

Try contact the seller. I think this ear buds are easy to break do to thin wire that they used for some reason.
